President Obama and his allies on the Left have helped create an atmosphere of hostility toward the police. They’ve taken what is a very rare event, racist white cops unnecessarily shooting black victims, and blown in up into what threatens to become a race war. I write about this in my latest piece for LifeZette:
The Left needs to do some hard thinking about whether the loudest of its mouths have put blood on its hands in Dallas. The irresponsible drumbeat of accusations that have pounded into the American psyche the falsehoods that racism is endemic in criminal justice system and that police killing blacks is a pervasive problem very likely contributed to the killing of five police officers.
In the wake of isolated police killings of unarmed black men over the past two years — some justified, some not — and with passions stoked by the presence of video cameras, liberals have created a dangerous environment in which cops are villains and guys who knock over convenience stores heroes.

One thing that needs to be clear. More white people than black people are killed by the police every year. And more black people than white people commit the largest percentage of crime And finally as we know, black on black crime is rising and never discussed.
I am so tired to jumping in with the lead — cops kill blacks — all the time, every day, all over the US. So much so that now the federal government has to intercede on the local law enforcement level. No. No. And more no.
Let’s establish a least a veneer of truth before we start dealing with current events.
And, of course, the left has blood on its hands in Dallas. And someone should tell Hillary Clinton that . To her, this is all because of white people.
Grace, I read about Hillarys anti-white statements on CNN. Surely she must have lost all credibility among white voters by now. Or are there many masochists among white people in the US ?
I admit I have never had an altercation with police. In times past, I have been stopped for speeding, because, well, I was speeding. It was during a time when I drove over an hour to work, after dropping off my children at the sitters and trying to be on the road no later than 6:30am. In our rural community, there was literally no one on the road but me – and him.
Was the Patrolman “nice” to me? No. He was professional as is his duty. I also did what he told me to do during the stop with hesitation.
I didn’t have any money for the fine, but, I robbed Peter to pay Paul and paid it. I did the crime and I paid the fine.
Having said that, I wish I knew for sure that blacks are treated differently than whites in traffic stops for DWB, which I understand means driving while black. That is not intended to be a remark meant to incite.
I know what is said on TV, but in real life?
A black woman once told me that when her son goes shopping, he is followed closely by a store employee. I don’t think that has happened to me, although I am not sure I would notice.
If blacks are treated differently – not deferentially – just because they are black, that is wrong. Period.
Was the black woman’s son dressed like a thug? Then I would keep an eye on him in MY store. Not because he is black, but because he looks likely to do something stupid like shoplift. Come on, people. Don’t act like a criminal, and you won’t be treated like one. Don’t commit crimes, and you won’t have dangerous run-ins with police.
Well said. I read that Obama will attend a funeral in Dallas. I am not sure if he is allowed in. But, if so, will the police officers present turn around and show him their backs ? That would be a powerful statement.

Why parrot the left’s mantra that White police officers are necessarily “racists”? There is evidence that more Whites are shot and killed by our police than any number of Blacks.
Is that acceptable killing, White police killing White suspects?
Freddie Gray was not shot by the police, Travon Martin was not shot by the police, and Michael Brown was shot while attacking a policeman, but the permanent victim society claims these men were just innocent citizens living a crime-free life, but taken down by White racist, anti-Black police.

If the Dallas shooter was white and had been killing black protesters, you have the idiot in chief with a whole other line. Guns are extremely bad in the hands of white ppl, you don’t need them, and all the other drivel he usually comes up with. Since the guy was black, let’s not rush to judgement. Give me a break.

“There is nothing more painful to me … than to walk down the street and hear footsteps and start thinking about robbery, then look around and see somebody white and feel relieved.”
Racism or reality?
Even Juan Williams, way back in the day when this first came about, said he felt the same thing.
so, it’s not a white only thing. And I suspect it is more gender also as well as appearance, dress, remarks etc.
But ….
Blacks are 13% of our population….we have had LBJ’s “Great Society” programs for 50 years….as far as I can tell they are as pissed as ever. I’d like someone to tell me what could change this without the usual platitudes of better education etc….let’s not forget our POTUS has also been black(ish) for the past 7 years too.
22 trillion dollars have been spent on the War on Poverty and the poverty percentage is still 14%. They only have themselves to blame for it. They vote for it. The Democrats need a permanent underclass in order to stay in power.
