In the history of mankind, many republics have risen, have flourished for a less or greater time, and then have fallen because their citizens lost the power of governing themselves and thereby of governing their state. TR

  1. Perhaps he is involved in constraining ISIS.
Or maybe he’s attempting to reduce the Russian fly-by’s on our ships and aircraft.
Maybe he is in the gym lifting weights.

  2. Obama released more GITMO prisoners over the weekend. He is determined to empty that place out before he is gone.

Peabody Coal, largest coal company in the nation has declared bankruptcy.
Obama is finishing exactly what he said he was going to do.

    1. And why do I not know about either of those news items? The dumb media is so zoned in on the primaries, they don’t report any actual news anymore. Obama is thrilled – this is exactly the scenario he wanted so he could (and will continue to) do just what he plans.

      1. To your point about the media–the “news” business:

“Poll: Just 6 percent of people say they trust the media”

And AP even lies–er, misdirects– about the situation in the story about how they are mistrusted. How? Like this, from the AP story: “Just 6 percent of people say they have a lot of confidence in the media, putting the news industry about equal to Congress…..”. Say what? Public confidence in the Congress is about 17 percent (nothing to brag about, certainly), THREE TIMES the confidence measure of the media, and NOT “about equal”.

So 94 percent of people don’t trust the media. We know they spin the message, lie, leave out important facts, shape information according their political viewpoints, repeat blatant political propaganda over and over and over, don’t cover important developments in a trustworthy manner.

I would call all that a major catastrophe for our Republic. That’s why we are ticked off.

        1. But there seems nothing the average person can do – we all hate the msm, we know it skews the news, we know they skip important stories – but how are we to combat this? Coming here to vent always helps but there needs to be real change.

          1. I know, it’s frustrating. My antidote to the MSM is to read a wide range of blogs, information sources and opinions across the board. It takes time and effort, but it’s the only solution I know. The more you read, the more you realize how corrupt and irresponsible the MSM is. Right now (as an example) 50-100 percent of newscasts are about the political rodeo we are suffering through. That means the MSM aren’t covering, in any detail at least, what else is happening in the world–the militarization of the South China Sea by the Chinese, for example, and their attempted disruption of world trade in that area, as well as their construction of military bases there. Huge story. That sort of thing, of which there are a hundred examples from all over the world. Their biased coverage of domestic issues is a scandal. So I rely on every source other than the MSM to get a sense of what’s going on. Only choice I have at the moment. WHD’ers are doing the very same thing, as far as I can tell. But I sense your frustration, for sure.

    1. I am USN Vet (who served when no one cared in the mid 1990s so I know I will never get any VA care) but being a member of the American Legion…I read & hear horror stories about trying to get any VA care…
Or even worse being a Vet nowadays trying to get a government job via
