In the history of mankind, many republics have risen, have flourished for a less or greater time, and then have fallen because their citizens lost the power of governing themselves and thereby of governing their state. TR

    1. DH & I heard this on a local radio show yesterday. We were laughing, butt I had to watch the road which was really hard, laughing hysterically.
Yet funny as it is, what a pathetic sloth. I wonder if he still smokes pot first thing in the morning (wake & bake), then all day long. That’s just what this country does not need, another lazy druggie who wants to take our hard earned money away.

  1. Watching the ceremony now, beautiful.
If there is only one thing that Catholics do well it’s the high ceremony.

The good man leaves us with his amazing family, and a legacy of true patriotism.
    RIP, Your Honor.

      1. Obama MIA — he doesn’t care. And also, in Charles Krauthammer’s opinion:

But Krauthammer makes the good point that Obama doesn’t want to sit in a pew and listen to people singing the praises of a man whose every action in defense of American jurisprudence and American Exceptionalism and the United States Constitution is antithetical to everything Obama believes.

          1. It’s an interesting question. I can’t seem to, yet, find the list of dignitaries, and list of ex-Presidents who did attend. Normally, when an ex-President attends a high level funeral, it’s in the first couple of paragraphs of a news story, isn’t it? I would think Jimmy Carter might have attended, as well as Bush 2 (who might, though, be otherwise occupied campaigning for Jeb), The Clintons are also on the campaign trail somewhere or other, but still.. Cruz mentioned, I think yesterday, that he would be there, but I don’t know if he was actually there. No mention of the other candidates, as far as I know.

So, I dunno. If some ex’s were there, did the MSM not mention them for fear of shaming Obama who, after all, is only about a 15 minute car ride away from the Cathedral? They have a habit of not reporting his goof ups and clumsy behavior, so maybe this is one of those times.

  2. Funny one on MoJoe (yes–Sat–why miss another chance to whack at Rubio?). Anyhow–Joe went on and on so much, Mika finally said enough. this is like verbal vomit. Wish I had said that. And it was Mika!

    1. Star, I thought Rubio was your choice, or perhaps I am wrong. Anyway, Larry Ellison just gave his campaign $1Million — ka ching from Silicon Valley. B1 visas most likely.
