  1. I am opposed to any syrian refugee resettlement in the US, but Rubio is all in on Ryan’s plan — . What I thought was interesting was how simple it would be to stop this dead in its tracks. But the Republicans aren’t up for it.

Rubio explained that the resettlement operation could be stopped simply by blocking the President’s funding request for the Office of Refugee Resettlement, which is set to expire on December 11. However, Rubio said that he’d “hate” stop the resettlement operation through the funding mechanism, and would rather simply rely on the Ryan plan, which would allow the resettlement operation to continue:

    • There does seem to be more evidence coming out that a preferred route into the US might be over the southern border or overstaying a visa or coming from a country that allows entry with no visa… All holes need to be plugged. I am not assured that the 2-3 yr wait to be a refugee would deter some bad guys playing the long game…nothing is certain in this life, though.

      • To say nothing of the sleeper cells and singles that are already here.

        Plus, there is evidence.

Also your point about visas. It would seem to me that here is a good opportunity to find a “paper trail” to locate and deport all who have overstayed their visas. Zero tolerance. Once we start making exceptions we are back in the “oh but the children ….” trap.

    • If Rubio, Ryan et al aren’t willing to use the power of the purse, a Constitutionally-based power, for goodness’ sake, to control the current Obama-sponsored immigration catastrophe, then they should just go home and feed the cows. If they don’t have the courage of applying the sacred Oath of Office to their Congressional duties, then they are worse than useless. They are dangerous. They are participating in the destruction process. Courage, vision, safety of the American people, a political life based on conviction and bravery??? These two don’t have it.

They and others of their ilk bring to mind the internal anguish and spineless life described by TS Eliot in his “The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock”

      “I grow old … I grow old …
I shall wear the bottoms of my trousers rolled.

Shall I part my hair behind? Do I dare to eat a peach?
I shall wear white flannel trousers, and walk upon the beach.”

Sheesh. Rubio for President? Don’t be ridiculous.

    • I worry about the northern border a lot. They’ve caught some illegals swimming across the St Croix River in my state (New Brunswick to Maine). There are miles and miles and miles of open, unprotected border just in my State, and obviously thousands of miles across our northern tier States. All in heavily wooded areas. There aren’t enough trip wires, cameras or border agents to make it safe.

  2. Just a thought. Over these long painful seconds of the Obama Era it occurs to me that there has not been one serious, investigative or even inquisitive piece on Valerie Jarrett. There have been snide and suggestive pieces and lots of innuendo but nothing of consequence.

    Now consider Cheney.

  3. So Obama pardons the Thanksgiving turkey?
Hmmm. Must be an ISIS turkey.
    On a serious note.
Watching France/24 showing French warplanes returning from bombing missions with empty bomb racks and no missiles on the wings.
Now they are either flying empty or dropping their ordnance.
I say ISIS is on the receiving end.
NOT returning with 75%of their ordnance.

  4. OT. Just to show how one sided the Press is, take a look at the following link about Obama’s daughter attending a beer pong party at Brown University. Maybe she drank or maybe she didn’t. Anyway, it was unreported by the Press; whereas, the Bush twins were cited for underage drinking at a Tex-Mex restaurant in Austin in May 2001. That made front page news. The other difference is the Bush girls were 19 (21 is legal in Texas) vs. 17 for her.
