    In other news, Trump drew a crowd of over 11,000 people at a rally in Worcester, MA last night. In liberal Massachusetts, home of the moon bat Kerry. Hillary draws a few hundred, sometimes less. On a good day.

    Confession: Back in my yute, I was deeply involved in Dem politics in my county. I even worked hard for Jimmy Carter. Was happy to see the Clintons get the WhiteHouse.
    Somewhere along the way, the Dems made a hard left as most of us were going straight ahead.

    I see what they are offering from local to federal office and I’m sick at heart. Who are these people, when did they get so nasty and dictator-like?
    Where’s the 40/50 something moderate candidate, where’s the working-man’s candidate?
    Hillary is all they are offering in the primary. She’s bound to win that, and then – how could they even think the public will cast a vote for her when most of them think she’s a lying, cheating, um, liar?

      My entire family was solid Democrat for generations– until the ’60’s. We saw what was happening, and said adios. There may be one or two distant cousins who are D now, but they stay away from the rest of us.

      I stumped for Carter in the mid-70’s with two babies under two in a stroller in Southern California. Unfortunately, at the time, I was doing that in a gated community full of richie-riches. Lost the district, but Jimmah still won the war that year.

    OT American history and politics is not my strong point. All of my background is European and international.

    So, I am ignorant in many ways. Can someone explain to me please — in simple terms — about the filibuster in the Senate that prevents the majority Republicans from getting things passed.

    I have some vague reference to what Reid did when the Democrats were in the majority, but again unclear.

    But somewhere in the muck of my ignorance I suspect this is something Mitch the Turtle can undo.

    Anyway, simple explanation would help me.

    If anyone is interested in the history of Yugoslavia, for instance, I might be able to return the favor. :)
