In the history of mankind, many republics have risen, have flourished for a less or greater time, and then have fallen because their citizens lost the power of governing themselves and thereby of governing their state. TR

  1. I hope that Barry musters some courage and brings up the ISIS issue.I guess he has seen the picture of that little dead boy on the beach too. So, make this king understand that he, and the other kings, must stop financing ISIS, give it up and end the war.Do it !
I guess that you have all read that Europe is swamped, overwhelmed, with refugees right now. Well, most of them are probably not “refugees” in the proper, legal meaning but migrants , looking for a better life, otherwise they would not be “shopping” destination. Because most of them wants to go to Germany and Sweden. Right now, that sad picture of the boy, has made it all so emotional that it is difficult to debate the issue in a rational way. Media is manipulating people again. But the fact is, the welfare society, as we know it, will not hold for this avalanche with the immigrant politics we have right now. However, we really want to help the needy, and especially the families, and if we could find a more temporary way of doing it, we could help even more and most people would be fine with it.

    1. If Obama and his “coalition” would destroy ISIS many of these people could return to their countries. Obama’s foreign policy of leading from behind and kissing Iran’s ass leads to this kind of mass exodus.

  2. Not to sound harsh – but migrating really should be the last option. I saw a picture on the front page of the WSJ (Wednesday) and all I could see were men. MEN. Not women. Not children. Men fleeing Syria.

Shouldn’t the MEN be staying and fighting? Perhaps I’m just crabby this morning.

But if people aren’t going to fight for their country – what hope is there.

    1. Not all men are fighters–some choose to save their families. At least that is my opinion. My late ex was special forces, but we knew plenty of males who could not go out and do Red Dawn.

  3. I just saw a photo of the motorcade awaiting King Salman at Andrews AFB. I swear it had to be almost 200 giant limos and SUVs. Hope he’s not coming here to talk about climate change !

    1. Found the photo, ok, the article said “dozens”. Still good to be King :)

Just in time for Labor Day weekend traffic, good luck with that DC peeps !

    1. LOL, did you see the photos comparing Obama holding a big fish and how Sarah holds a big fish (no gloves!). I think I saw them on yesterday’s MOTUS thread, so funny.
