As of now, I am in control here, in the White House

    • Good summary of the anti-Black history of the Democrat party. They’ve worked desperately to rewrite that history, which dates back to pre-Civil War days, but the truth is the truth. They are still determined to keep Blacks on the Plantation, which is now found in the inner cities ghettos. Among those Black conservative/Republicans shamed relentlessly by the Democrat Party are (as we all know) Clarence Thomas, Tim Scott, Condoleezza Rice, Herman Cain, Allen West, Alan Keyes, Mia Love, etc.
Here’s a list of Black Republicans and Libertarians, just for the record.

      • That is impressive.
Why don’t the ones that are living stand up and speak out ?
Maybe educating the ones that are afraid of being ‘Uncle Tom’ to the fact that very conservative minded Blacks have indeed been influential throughout this Country’s development.

        • I follow most of them on FB and believe me, they do speak out. I especially like Allen West and Herman Cain. They never get media coverage because they tell the truth which is sometimes very brutal to Obama’s sensitive ego.

        • This is going to be a long time simmering down, I fear–on MTDepressed, first Chuckie said a black president sang Amazing Grace as the Confederate flag came down (speaking of conflating) and that Eric Dyson said, the flag may be down but the hate remains. Yes, everyone is brimming with hate, has time for hate, has no other concerns, etc.

          • Hiya Star.
There are so many that can’t accept any form of personal responsibility for the choices they made (or let other make for them via welfare). So yeah, plenty of room and time for hate.

          • Talk about hate – – did you read some of the invective directed at Justice Scalia for his dissenting opinion on the SSM ruling? I thought the Gays were all about #Love. Really nasty stuff.

  1. I feel that the baby boomers, me included, were given a pretty well rounded education.
Many of us here fall into that category.

The kids today are getting a raw deal, being manipulated by radical teachers that were themselves indoctrinated by the left.

Unions that force people to capitulate or be fired and school boards that determine curriculum in opposition to the parents that try to change the system and pay their salaries.

I sincerely hope the the left wing’s run is over.
Time for some conservative philosophies to return to this Country.

The left has a strangle hold on US, but enough opposition can break it.

It will take a strong degree of determination to do so.

    • The liberals have had a field day creating their own brand of chaos in politics, schools (K-college), the media, the entertainment industry, etc. It will take a lot of unwinding to untangled the mess they’ve created, and a force of will to repair the incredible damage they’ve done.

But I agree with you. It can certainly be done. All we need is proper leadership. The rest of us are thoroughly disgusted with the situation and we are all waiting for the right person to drive these mules out of the mud..

  2. CNN, State of the Union, Jake Tapper:
    About to introduce MrTrump, how does he do it;
Later, after the first part of the interview, he refers to MrTrump as ” the donald”.

He just couldn’t get the sneer, the dismissal out of his head when talking to a candidate for President he obviously doesn’t like. There is no pretense from these MSM types anymore, not the least respectful of anyone not a “dem” or a progressive their politcal programs are just propaganda for their favorite candidates.

    NBC, Meet the Press, Chuck Todd;
Interviewing GovJindal went as you would expect – jab, jab, jab.

If and when these MSMs find themselves lucky enough to interview MrsClinton, they will not refer to her as “..the mega-millionaire public speaker..”, nor even dare call her “hillary”.

    • It will get more intensive as we get nearer to the election, bank on it.
It’s already to the point of being ridiculous.

If the republican candidates refuse to appear on these programs, they will make sure that they say that they were ‘afraid to come on’.

If they do appear, they are used as a target of the left.

    • I am in mod again. I missed Saturday Thread yesterday. However I read all comments late last night.
As far as Hillary. She should be asked: How can you expect to run for any office, without answering for yourself. Such as Benghazi and your deleted emails.
As far as the MSM, at least for now I can still mute the TV, and or change the stations.

      • Guys IMO it is fixed! The big bucks are for Jeb and Hill.
All the rest is to make the peeps think there is a real race for the GOP.

In fact it is already decided by the real power behind the GOP – IE Jeb!

BTW Jeb sucks! he is an AINO Meaning American in name only!!!
        New word AINO !

        • Check this from Zero
“Then of course there’s all the Clash of the Titans between two political dynasties, the heir apparent of the Bush crown versus the Clintons for the right to take over as titular head of a tenuous global anarchy of 1,826 billionaires, 67 of whom own half the assets of the entire world, the one percent whom politicians bow to more than the other 99% of America’s citizens.”

  3. Just learned that Obama voted against the confirmation of Chief Roberts. Looks like Obama owes that man a trip to Havana on AF1 for a lifetime supply of Ceegars!

  4. Maybe I am wasting your time with this, but I was sorting through papers and found a letter to my father from James Forrestal, secy of the navy, 1947, after dad had left the navy as a doc on a destroyer. I am sure this was sent to all soliders, sailors and airmen, but I was intrigued with how it outlined victory. In part:

“I want the Navy’s pride in you, which it is my privilege to express, to reach into your civil life and remain with you always.

“You have served in the greatest Navy in the world.

“It crushed two enemy fleets are once, receiving their surrenders only four months apart.

“It brought our land-based airpower within range of the enemy and set our ground enemies on the beachheads of final victory.

“It performed the multitude of tasks necessary to support these miliary operations.

“No other Navy at any time has done so much. For your part in these achievements you deserve to be proud as long as you live.”

I believe Secy Forrestal later committed suicide, which is probably not relevant, but I wonder how today’s letters of separation describe the service performed. I hope they are as clear and as gratefully stated.

    • Thanks for sharing. My grandfathers military papers of any sort were destroyed in Hurrican Betsy. Thanks for your Dad’s service. My dad served in the Navy as well. A couple of years before I was born.

    • Ask the Navy Chaplain that was recently discharged for adhering to Biblical texts.

Or the female Marine that was told to remove a Bible verse from the bottom of her computer screen, taped on.

      She refused and was disciplined.

      • Yes, my father served and I appreciate everyone’s service, but my pt was how gracefully this letter outlined the outcome, can we even outline outcomes these days?

        • No ma’am, there never seems to be an outcome.
My Dad was a radio operator in the jungles of Burma.
          Nasty !
He was Army Air Corp, no Air Force until 1947.

WWII had an end, then there was Korea, then Vietnam now the mid-east,…..nothing seems to have an end.

We celebrate when the troops come home, only to be re-deployed on what it seems is a never ending fight.

Families are fractured, basically unable to lead a ‘normal’ life.
Children are moved from school to school.
Different teachers, different classmates, different weather.

It can be tough being an Army Brat.

No matter what Country you serve in, it is the same.

People are people, troops are troops.
Families love to see them come home, and hate to wave them goodbye.

          • My point was–in this letter an outcome was clearly stated–yes, another war (er police action) came along, but WWII had an outcome and I thought this letter stated it gracefully. My point is can we do this anymore? Do they? What do they send now?

          • Apples and oranges 0 comparing ISIS to WW2. ISIS wears no uniform.
They recruit on the internet. This is not a conventional ‘war’- it’s jihad terrorism . We are fighting a faceless, unknown enemy who could sprout up in any little town anywhere on the planet. He/she could be your next door neighbor.
How can you have a strategy to fight something like this, much less an outcome.

Thanks to Obama, ISIS has metastasized from 1000 to over 20-30,000. And they’re spreading out everywhere.
I definitely feel sorry for the next POTUS who will have to deal with Obama’s mess!

          • To Girly1.
That was the problem in Nam, no uniforms.
You didn’t know who the enemy was.

Now, they not only do not wear uniforms, they wear friendly uniforms and still kill us.

          • The massacre on the beach in Tunesia by a ‘friendly’ guy chatting it up with hotel guests should send shivers down the spine of every American. We have jet skis, dinghys, speed boats with illegals coming ashore on beaches near me all the time.
It doesn’t take a genius to pull something like this off!

  5. If I may tweak, ever so slightly, one of the most famous speeches in cinematic history…
I don’t have to tell you things are bad. Everybody knows things are bad. It’s a depression. Everybody’s out of work or scared of losing their job. The dollar buys a nickel’s worth; banks are going bust; shopkeepers keep a gun under the counter; punks are running wild in the street, and there’s nobody anywhere who seems to know what to do, and there’s no end to it.

We know our politicians are corrupt, that they don’t give a damn what we think, and that the rest of the world thinks America is a sitting duck. And we surf past the Drudge Report and click on some article that tells us that today the found out that the IRS was destroying evidence under subpoena, and the Supreme Court is re-writing natural law by judicial fiat, as if that’s the way it’s supposed to be!

We all know things are bad — worse than bad — they’re crazy.

It’s like everything everywhere is going crazy, so we don’t go out any more. We sit in the house, and slowly the world we’re living in is getting smaller, and all we say is, “Please, at least leave us alone in our living rooms. Let me have my internet and my game console and my robot vacuum cleaner, and I won’t say anything. Just leave us alone.”

Well, I’m not going to leave you alone.

I want you to get mad!

I don’t want you to protest. I don’t want you to riot. I don’t want you to write to your Congressman, because I wouldn’t know what to tell you to write. I don’t know what to do about the depression and the corruption and the terrorists and the crime in the street.

All I know is that first, you’ve got to get mad!

You’ve gotta say, “I’m an American citizen, goddammit! My voice has meaning!”

So, I want you to get up now. I want all of you to get up out of your chairs. I want you to get up right now and go to the window, open it, and stick your head out and yell, “I’m as mad as hell, and I’m not going to take this anymore!!”

  6. If I may break away from IMPORTANT DISCUSSION for a moment.
I have not made a stew since I was 12 years old. I always make a pot roast.
I bought stew meat. Simmered my onions, bell pepper and celery. Added Potatoes to the gravy, carrot and some fresh string beans.
I as well marinated the stew meat and browned and threw in the post.
I tasted a piece of meat a moment ago. It taste good but still a little tough.
Question: How long does it have to simmer in the gravy to become tender?
    Tks WHD readers.

    • Most likely several hours on low. I use my crockpot. After the meat is browned, put everything in the crock & cook on high for an hour, then turn to low for up to 5-6 hours. The meat is always very tender & yummy.
I use my crockpot for everything from legumes to corned beef.

  7. Still completely furious over gay rainbow White House Friday night. That was a pre-arranged middle finger to Christian Tradmerica.

  8. They shot and captured that Sweat idiot. I supposed there will still be days and days of repetitive “special alerts,” blah blah, then the movie. Boy was this story a loser and crazy overdone.

    • …and on FNC they have that annoying & obnoxious Julie Banderas talking on about stuff she has no clue about…she truly is a FNC bimbo I cant stand (her, and that blonde airhead on F&F Weekends)

      • The women on FOX, with very few exceptions, are all obnoxious. Used to enjoy MoJoe but Mika has really gotten obnoxious lately. CNN is getting better ratings than FOX and MSNBS now.

        • CNN is tolerable now.
FNC put their foot in it.
Bret Baier is about the only show I can tolerate.
I have been watching Newsmax lately.

    • It was good to hear that they took him alive and no one was hurt. Now they will be able to get to the bottom of how and why this happened. The entire penal system will learn from this! I would not have wanted to live in that area for the past three weeks. What a nightmare.

  9. re: They got him!
As I remarked before, there must not have been a Plan B for this escape. Just wandering around the woods, waiting or thinking.
The only smart thing that Sweat did was walk down a sidewalk in town while 1,000 police were searching the woods.
But, bad luck, no luck?, good luck?, he’s spotted by a lone Statie who gets to be the hero here.
Congrats to all the police who worked around the clock in terrible terrain all to keep us safe.
