All-Star Golf Lineup for Obama in Florida

Updated March 30 at 5:00 am ET.

President Obama today is playing golf at the Floridian National Golf Course with former basketball great Alonzo Mourning, former football great Ahmad Rashad, and someone named Cy Walker.

Rashad, who is now a broadcaster, is dating Valerie Jarrett. Or was. I’m not keeping track of it. Cy Walker is Valerie Jarrett’s cousin. Or was. I’m not keeping track of that either.

We’re just barely out of winter and it was already Obama’s seventh time golfing this year, having played in Hawaii in January, in California last month, and on a warm day near Washington this month. It was the 220th outing of his presidency.

UPDATE: Obama played again Sunday for his eighth round of the year and the 221st of his president.

    Who would have ever thought that a former slum landlord from Chicago who was fired by her boss, Mayor Daley, for incompetence, would end up in the Oval Office with her protege, Barack Obama, in tow.

    While Baby Barry is having a week-end away from home with her cousin and boyfriend, Valjar is probably putting the finishing touches on the Iranian nuke deal.

    Still waiting for an investigation into her secret trips to Iran. Crickets chirping!

    I just read that on Monday Obama and Biden are meeting in Boston. Is there some reason they can’t meet at the WH as they usually do? Somebody needs to pull the plug on their travel. It is ridiculous.

      WASHINGTON (AP) — President Barack Obama is planning to attend the dedication of the new Edward M. Kennedy Institute for the United States Senate in Boston later this month.

      Kennedy widow and institute co-founder Victoria Reggie Kennedy announced Monday that the president, first lady Michelle Obama and Vice President Joe Biden all plan to attend the ceremony on March 30.

      The institute is being built on the campus of the University of Massachusetts Boston next to the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum. The centerpiece is a full-scale representation of the U.S. Senate chamber.

      Ted Kennedy died in 2009 from brain cancer after serving 47 years in the Senate. Kennedy’s endorsement helped Obama win the 2008 Democratic presidential nomination.

        He is a former Army Ranger who served in Iraq in 2006-2007 and was honored at the White House in May with the National Association of Police Organizations TOP COPS award.     It’s not that I mind a President taking breaks, it’s that this President seems to be always on a break.

    This guy is just not into his “job” at all. As a loyal WHD follower, the daily schedule is very telling. There is no work ethic there.

    Americans died on that doomed GermanWings flight, I don’t remember a statement this week? Heads of State of the victims’ countries will be attending the memorial, hopefully we’ll represent too?

    I guess in addition to the extended December/January Hawaiian vacation, and the CA Presidents Day long golf weekend in February, a golf weekend in March is now a new annual “tradition” for King Golfs-a-Lot.

      Sorry, I didn’t see your post when I posted mine below. I think he’s off golfing with his pals in Florida because Mooch is still on some week long trip with the girls. I think she arrived back in Dc last Sunday or Monday and I’m sure she took off for a trip with the girls. There’s no way they spent their spring break in DC all week; they never have. The WH always tries to keep Moochelle’s solo trips quiet, and the girls’ also. When they get noticed somewhere and people tweet about it, Mooch’s office usually says she’s on a “private family trip”.

I’m sure as soon as she came back from her Japan/Cambodia trip they all took off for some vacation all week since there’s no school. Obummer went to Florida without them becasue they’re probably still away somewhere. WHY the damn secrecy when it’s our tax dollars – millions – paying for all these separate trips?!

    I already posted up above about Monday’s trip to Boston for the Ted Kennedy dedication, but why is the schedule so vague for the remainder of the week?? I’ve never seen it state “meetings at the WH” for most of the week like this. Usually, it says that for one or two day a week and it’s because he’s doing nothing unless something comes up, or he’s doing something they don’t want released until the last minute.

    On Monday, the President and First Lady, joined by the Vice President, will celebrate the life and legacy of Senator Edward M. Kennedy and the importance of the U.S. Senate in the lives of all Americans at the dedication of the Edward M. Kennedy Institute for the United States Senate in Boston, Massachusetts. The President will also attend a DNC event in Massachusetts.

    On Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday the President will attend meetings at the White House.

    NEWARK, N.J. (AP) — Michelle Obama mixed her message of education for girls with one of empowerment for black women, declaring “Black girls rock!” at the annual awards show of the same name.

    The first lady wasn’t one of the honorees Saturday night but was the most heralded participant at the 5th annual event. It honored Jada Pinkett Smith, Erykah Badu, Cicely Tyson, Ava DuVernay, Nadia Lopez and Helene Gayle.

    Obama told the audience, which included many young black girls, to ignore voices that suggested that they were “not good enough.”

    She celebrated the achievement of three young black women also honored and said education was the key to their success.

    Obama went to Princeton and Harvard. She said she wouldn’t be where she was had she not taken her studies seriously and implored young black people to do the same.

        Thanks for the link to the photos. Maybe I’m just old and cranky but that dress looks like it has a corset top. I think it’s inappropriate attire for a First Lady. However, much of what she wears is inappropriate for her position.
