  1. Thanks Keith. Will miss your excellent threads, but at the same time, enjoy your weekend.
Good morning everyone. I usually mention the coffee is ready. However, I must make clear, I do not offer coffee with a topic/issue to be discussed. This is a coffee cup:[]
Notice, I did not lable a topic. :)

  2. Thinking of signing up for an adult fun camp today, inspired by Mme Hillary’s speech this week. After I pay mortgage, mandatory healthcare, income tax, fund my 401k, pay off the kids college tuition, fund my long term care insurance, etc., me and the missus should be able to get out there and boogie oogie oogie with the other adults who just don’t know how to have “fun”.

Party on, party on…. Thanks Hilly for once again telling me how to live my life, I forgot…..right.

  3. Now that the White House knows that no amount of dimpled chads will get rid of Bibi, it’s actually been bleakly amusing to watch the official snit being pitched by the Obama administration.

It’s a bit like Terry Gilliam’s 1985 movie “Brazil”–it’s just so wrong on so many levels that it actually ends up being a dark comedy.

And since I’m speaking of cinema…I think one would have to go back to Roger Ebert’s purple-prosed review of “Battlefield Earth” to find a Chicagoan putting on such an epic display of butthurt.

  4. In 2012 Reps. Chafftez, Atmire and Gowdy introduced H.R. 4093, the Presidential Allowance Modernization Act. President Truman left the WH broke and in debt. Congress passed the Former Presidents Act of 1958. Things have changed. Current former Presidents are now wealthy. They write books and make speeches. They can do quite well without the extra generous government benefits.

Congress needs to re-introduce the bill and send it to the WH. The news reported Obama might purchase the Magnium P.I. house for his retirement. If he can afford that he does not need additional help from the taxpayer. Give him the option to either sign or veto the bill.

    • Just another note.
Harry Truman drove his Buick back to Missouri with Bess in the car.
He was stopped for going too slow on the highway.
Bess said will you please tell him to go faster ?

      Times have definitely changed.

Presidents are millionaires, congressmen and congresswomen are millionaires and their families don’t have a worry in the world financially.

Aircraft of all types at their disposal.
Limousines to carry them from one fund raiser to the next.

      Truly sickening.

      • AFVet as a vet, What do you think all these very rich people are telling their kids, grandkids?
That is in the regard to the discussion with Iran.
Are they telling them we have enough money, so we will never have to worry?
I have asked this in the recent past. I cannot understand what they are telling them. If my parent was thinking of dealing with ****, I would be begging, pleading, fussing not to go along with it.

        • I don’t know Lee.
I grew up in a family that didn’t have a lot of money.
My Father served in the Army-Air Corp in WWII.
My Uncles served in the Navy.
In 1947, the Air Corp split off from the Army and the Air Force was created.

As far as what the rich are telling their children, I have no idea.
My guess is that the majority of the rich kids don’t serve the Country, and if they do, they get duty far from any conflict.

  5. So I was in Walmart this past Monday (the store we all hate but still shop there) and this gal approached me and asked if I wanted a free cell phone. I said no but after I walked about 3 feet away I went back and said I changed my mind (only because I wanted one of the brochures she was giving out)

So the brochure is very nice-high gloss colored brochure with photo of a mom with two daughters and a son (no husband in the pic) It’s written in English on one side and Spanish on the other side. The front says Free Phone Program-Cell-Texts-Minutes-Income Eligible Federal Lifeline.

So the qualifications according to the Federal Lifeline Program are as follows:

    Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)
Family Assistance for the Needy (TANF)
    Supplement Security Income (SSI)
    Federal Public Housing (Section 8)
Low Income Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP)

If you qualify you will receive your phone in less than 7 days. New minutes will be uploaded the first 3 days of each month.

And then a bunch of questions and answers.

Foolish me, I’ve been working and still am working and paying into the system for 51 years. I didn’t realize I could have been getting everything free.

  6. I do hope that not a single Republican will vote for that black woman for the head of the Justice Department. If they vote for her because of the color of her, then I know the Republicans are cowards and won’t protect the American people from Holder or Obama because that is what she is. She is just like them and wants 20 million or 30 million MORE immigrants to flood our shores, make us sick with their God knows what diseases they will bring here, take our jobs, money, murder, you name it, with that many unknown immigrants coming here our country is gone. We are watching to see what the Republicans and the Democrats/communists will do about her. She is awful, just like Obama and Holder, same in a dress. Same goes for Hillary Clinton.

  7. U.S. is withdrawing it’s military personal from a base in Yemen because of increasing insecurity there. The article states 100 troops, including special force Commandos.Into the article it also states the military has not confirmed this as of yet.

      • Yes, after watching his niece’s basketball team, he went to play golf:

        Mark Knoller @markknoller
From College Park, Pres Obama motorcaded to @AndrewsAirForce for a round of golf. It’s 51° and sunny. Headed to 60°
        1:47 PM – 21 Mar 2015

        Mark Knoller @markknoller
This is Pres Obama’s 6th round of golf of 2015; his 220th as pres.; his 77th at @AndrewsAirForce.
        2:56 PM – 21 Mar 2015

        Mark Knoller @markknoller
After about 4 hours of golf, Pres Obama is back at the WH.
        6:38 PM – 21 Mar 2015

  8. The early news stories proclaimed that Mooochelle and the girls and granny Robinson would all be going to Japan/Cambodia etc for Spring Break. Now….it’s just MooMoo… girls,no granny. My question is this: are the girls skiing at Aspen or swimming and beaching at the Atlantis Resort in the Bahamas ? or both ? Of course, the media will not offer any clues.

    • Malia was with Obummer and Granny Robinson, and Moochelle’s brother today watching Mooch’s niece’s college basketball game:

President Obama cheered for his niece’s Princeton team Saturday as the squad defeated Wisconsin-Green Bay in a first-round NCAA Tournament game.

The 80-70 victory by Princeton means the team remains undefeated.

Obama’s niece, freshman Princeton forward Leslie Robinson, did not appear in the game for her team.

Leslie Robinson is the daughter of Michelle Obama’s brother, Craig Robinson.

Obama sat a few rows away from courtside surrounded by an entourage that included his daughter Malia, mother-in-law Marian Robinson, Craig Robinson and other Robinson family members. Both Craig Robinson and the first lady are Princeton graduates.

Most in Obama’s group wore orange “Tiger Pride” T-shirts to support Princeton. Obama wore a dark sweater.

Education Secretary Arne Duncan, a former professional basketball player and a Chicago pal of the president, also attended.

First lady Michelle Obama missed seeing her niece because she is traveling in Cambodia.

Princeton’s win had some wondering whether Obama would return again on Monday when the Tigers take on the winner of Saturday’s matchup between Maryland and New Mexico State.

  9. Well, it looks like all the pathetic kissing to Iran hasn’t exactly worked (big surprise):

Iran’s Supreme leader Ali Khamenei called for “Death to America” on Saturday, a day after President Barack Obama appealed to Iran to seize a “historic opportunity” for a nuclear deal and a better future, and as US Secretary of State John Kerry claimed substantial progress toward an accord.

Khamenei told a crowd in Tehran that Iran would not capitulate to Western demands. When the crowd started shouting, “Death to America,” the ayatollah responded: “Of course yes, death to America, because America is the original source of this pressure.

“They insist on putting pressure on our dear people’s economy,” he said, referring to economic sanctions aimed at halting Iran’s nuclear program. “What is their goal? Their goal is to put the people against the system,” he said. “The politics of America is to create insecurity,” he added, referring both to US pressure on Iran and elsewhere in the region.

  10. Associated Press reporter, Mark Smith asked o a question about negotians with **** while he was speaking of a new Executive order to save the planet.
The reporter asked if there had a “progress” on the “Iran talks.”
    O quickly undercut the question,
“I’m sorry, we’re talking about energy, It’s a great story. So hopefully you’ll focus on it.”
“We gotta try sir.” Smith than replied.
“This is an important,” o shot back.
“And there are often more than one at a time, sir,” The reporter rebutted.
“Yeah, but this one really matters,” os said.
I tried to pull up the rest of the article, but was unable to.
