As of now, I am in control here, in the White House

Saturday Open Thread || January 31, 2015

Let’s hear what’s on your mind today. I’m working on some technical things, the results of which you should see within a day or two. Thanks for taking care of the place in the meantime. It’s okay if you make a mess because there’s some nice new stuff coming in this weekend.

  1. OK gang,…..any Firefox users out there ?
If so, I have a question on how to get cut and paste to work on version
Seems other people are having the same problem and their help site isn’t much help.

    Any help would be appreciated.

  2. Some fun facts (and rumors) about the SuperBowl here in AZ:
It’s raining, rained all day yesterday and the money-grubbers are crying for the loss of (jacked up) golf green fees , the faux outdoor parties or concerts meant to pick the pockets of the fans and of course the outrageous scalping of tickets – some up to $8500.
One of the teams is staying in a local Indian casino hotel a few miles out of town, not one of our high class resorts.
A party of some sort held for the players last night- the entertainers were vetted by Secret Service agents. hmmm.
Security is as tight as if the POTUS, QueenElizabeth, and Beyonce were going to be in the stands watching the game.
Glendale,AZ – where the stadium is located- is going bankrupt trying to meet the requirments and needs of this big to-do, from extra police all the way to overtime for the trash collectors.

  3. If so, I have a question on how to get cut and paste to work on version 35.0.1.

Sorry, I’m using that version but I’m able to copy and paste. I just tried it by copying and pasting part of your post.

But, I can tell you that in the past I have had problems with newer versions of Firefox and what saved me is a site that has older versions. You can pick any of the previous versions of Firefox to go back to if you want:

  4. Loretta Lynch: If you didn’t see the “interview” it’s linked below. Full disclosure here, she gets my ‘NO’ vote. Anyone who answers a question with, “I am not Eric Holder” is channeling too much Chevy Chase/SNL for me as in, “I am Chevy Chase and you’re not.”

  5. In the poll about Romney presidency, 50% think things would not be any better under Romney; makes one wonder how they ask the question. I cannot believe that 50% would still take Obummer over Romney.

  6. The 2nd hostage Kenji Gota has been killed. U.S. is working on verifying the video. They are all terrorist. o needs to get off his tale, and address and call the enemy for what they are!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Killer had a british accent. No word on the Jordan hostage.
      News conference in Japan shortley.
      K. McFarland spoke well, and tuff a little while ago.
CIA Analyst, Mr Fred. Fleitz said we need a stategy, we do not have one. We have to declare war on radical Islam. We are a long way of getting a strategy. He said untill o admits we are war with radical Islam we can’t get strategy off the ground. When these world leaders come to WA. They must ask o what is going on here, we have a bigger problem, than you do. You have to call like it is.

      • I also saw another segment KT was on where she blasted the very weak US response made in a statement today. She couldn’t believe that the response was simply that the US “strongly condemns ISIL’s actions”. This was another beheading!! Where is the outrage and resolve to get these MF’rs and wipe them off the face of the earth?! So lame.

“We have seen the video,” said council spokeswoman Bernadette Meehan. “We are working to confirm its authenticity. The United States strongly condemns ISIL’s actions and we call for the immediate release of all remaining hostages.”

        • The issue with the name needs to be addressed as well. A better percentage of everyone does not know the difference.
This is issue that they are working on it still…
Yes McFarland did blast them. You would have expected our P. to speak in such a way, a long time ago…..

          • I think that article has been changed since I linked to it. In any event, this part is something else:

Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe expressed outrage at the video that was released on militant websites.

“I feel indignation over this immoral and heinous act of terrorism,” Abe told reporters after convening an emergency Cabinet meeting.

So, a Japanese citizen is beheaded by ISIS and the Japanese Prime Minister convenes an emergency Cabinet meeting on a Saturday.

Recall that when an American, James Foley, was beheaded last August Obummer made a quick call to the grieving parents, made a brief statement, and then two minutes later was yucking it up with the Choom Gang on the golf course in Martha’s Vineyard.

Unfortunately, his response was not surprising considering that when our Ambassador to Libya, Chris Stevens, and three other Americans were killed in Benghazi on September 11, 2012, Obummer made a quick Rose Garden statement and then hopped onto Air Force One to go campaign.

Obummer is a complete failure and utter disgrace.

          • Judge Jeanine had a tough opening statement regarding the word on words crap. Gen Jack Keanne is now speaking is on now. He is speaking of the the two seperate list we have as well on the terrorist list. John Bolton said o is a ideologial left winger , that is why he negotiating letting 5 terrorist go for Bergdahl.

  7. Prime Minister of Japan said he feels very sorry for the pilot and his family. To the terrorist we will never forgive them for this act. More over as Japan we would be keeping to our responsiblities to dieal with this act of terrorism. Thanked King of Jordan for his support.
Just heard on Cnn that they place blame on Japan. (I usually do not watch CNN anymore, however Fox has a rerun on now).

  8. Here is what the USA is doing right now.
    Phoney war on drugs
    Phoney war on inequality
Phoney war on Terror (but the white house will not call it a terror attack)
Actual war on the middle class
Actual war on the laws and constitution of the country
Actual war on our medical insurance
Actual war on closing the southern border
    Actual war on our sovereignty
    Actual war on our currency
    Did I miss any?

    • Common Core
      Not calling them ISIS.
      Bad mouthing our police.
The List goes on and on…
Making us look bad by not showing up in Paris, or should I say making himself look bad.

  9. Mr. & Mrs. Andrews were on Fox stating it was a real Slap in the Face.
That Bergdahl was reconized and not our son or others that were killed or risked their lives serching for Berhdahl.
