Well, not everyone who grew up in paradise finds it difficult to perceive reality.
Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, Democrat of Hawaii, has no problem calling out a former – except for 16 days a year – resident of the Aloha State, Barack Obama, for the latter’s refusal to put the “Islamic” in Islamic extremism.
As you probably know, for fear of offending somebody, the White House is referring to terrorists merely as “extremists,” which is pretty much how it refers to the Tea Party. Gabbard, who actually went to Iraq and fought these people, thinks this is a dangerous distinction with a difference.
She told Greta Tuesday night on Fox News:
Something I learned as Military 101, but something that’s easy for everyone to understand, and that is that If you’re are war, which we are, you have to know won your enemy is in order to defeat them. You’ve got to recognize what’s fueling them, what’s motivating the, what are the strategies and tactics that they’re using in order to be able to defeat them and prevent them from attacking the American people.
If that’s really the cause, then the solution would be just to give them a trophy, give them a hug, give them a good-paying job, $10,000, and a skateboard so they can go and get their thrills and say, “OK, great, they are going to be happy and they won’t be fighting anymore.” That’s not the case.
I couldn’t agree more. In fact, I did agree.
