In the history of mankind, many republics have risen, have flourished for a less or greater time, and then have fallen because their citizens lost the power of governing themselves and thereby of governing their state. TR

      1. I agree. Not too long back many of us who are Protestant were saying that “We are all Catholic now” when the Catholic Church was taking strong stands on Christian principles that are common among us all and taking hits from progressives.
This Pope appears to be a Democrat in the manner of Obama. That is not good for Christianity.

          1. According to the Pope, but if somebody says something about your mother then you can punch them. So, there is that and that is my take away on his comment on free speech and for many things regarding turning the other cheek.

  1. I think I heard Josh the Smiling One say that the Obama administration believed it had only a 50-50 chance of reaching a resolution with Iran over their nuclear weapons program. Anyone else catch this? Did I hear that right? If that’s so, we are truly screwed.

  2. OT Joni Ernst to deliver R. rebuttal to SOTU. For sure, she will do better than the woman they had last time, who was very weak.

I hope Congresswoman Ernst has polished her speaking skills since her acceptance speech. I am sure she has. I am pro Joni and hope she does us proud.

Some Dems are bent out of shape because apparently she said Obama should be impeached and other less respectful stuff. I have no problem calling POTUS out on lies in his speech or actions beyond his authority.
