In the history of mankind, many republics have risen, have flourished for a less or greater time, and then have fallen because their citizens lost the power of governing themselves and thereby of governing their state. TR

      1. Thanks for the link. It shows he’ll be fundraising 3 days this next week. Fundraising should be done in his spare time or off the clock, not on our dime.

        1. At least the DNC should be paying all these travel bills. But he always sticks an “official event” in the schedule and nobody (like Gwyneth, the MSM)has a problem with this?

  1. Fundraisers are the mainstay of his existence. Always traveling on week-days with an occasional layover on Friday nights. He should be restricted to fundraising on weekends instead of playing hookey during the work week. His tombstone should read: “Here lies the Phantom of the White House”.

  2. Note that he’ll be ready to speak (read: beg) at a DNC fundraiser on a weekend earlier than he receives the PDB on a weekday at the White House.

That should tell you something about this guy.

  3. O/T and Early Bird Special…
I think I heard Oregon Gov. John Kitzhaber singing an old Prince tune…LOL

    “Purple haze, all around
Don’t know if I’m comin’ up or down
Am I happy or in misery?
What ever it is, that girl put a spell on me”

Clyvia Hayes was twice divorced and just shy of her 30th birthday when she married an 18-year-old Ethiopian man. Hayes said she was “ashamed and embarrassed,” and did not tell the governor about the marriage until a reporter from the Willamette Week newspaper began asking questions this week.

    1. “Purple Haze” is a classic, performed by the inimitable Jimi Hendrix. Could you be thinking of Prince’s “Purple Rain”, perhaps?

      1. I am not at my sharpest before 11 am. I posted this before 7. Yep, you’re right. It’s was raining quite a bit locally at 7 am and I got my rain and haze confused.

  4. Oh, how cute, a Saturday schedule, no PDB either. Betcha we’re better briefed on the world than Obama.

Oh look how close ISIS is to our embassy in Baghdad? Guess the airstrikes didn’t hold them back much ? Is that because Obama was directing the strikes personally? Figures.

      1. Not on Fox :) The LoFo’s watch the other channels were President Sparkles has his pillows fluffed. Last I heard, ISIS is within “rocket striking distance” of the embassy. Scary.

  5. So, Friday he arrived in SF for a Demo fundraiser; today, another Demo fundraiser. Is Obummer paying for AF1 costs? Why isn’t someone calling him on it?
    .

      1. What diff does it make now if the msm changes.
All the books and book tours, all the ‘oops’ can’t put Humpty Dumpty back together again. I really extra annoyed, if that’s possible, that the msm conveniently parted the waters, lifted the fog of devotion and pulled their heads from the sand while half the country was yelling, “FIRE”.

  6. Apropos of nothing….

ISIS will consolidate its position and build its caliphate over the next two years while Obama burrows deeper and deeper into ennui and token action with the whole thing.

What will happen to the US military in the meantime. It has been infected with political correctness, it is ordered busy with humanitarian and health disasters, it’s infrastructure is being eroded, and for all intents and purposes it is locked in a room twiddling its fingers waiting for the boy King to give a damn.

This article is mildly interesting — my takeaway is that Obama has the largest (but most incompetent) national security apparatus ever. And Ben Rhodes is even more worthless than I had imagined. And has more power and influence than he should. He is perfect for Obama the man.

    1. I read the article on the following thread. Tks.
What caught my attention on this schedule is the time:
Departs San Francisco at 11:15 a.m.
Arrives at the the W. House at 7:10 p.m.
It doesn’t take that long to fly back. Is he having a party on board? Perhaps playing putt putt golf during that time. It would be very difficult to hit the ball under the seats, to reach the hole.

        1. You’re right, when you account for the three hour time difference, it’s a five hour flight. I’ve flown CA to MD many times (though not on AF-1, alas).
