Or gosh darn. It looks like the Republicans in Congress are going to go along with arming the “moderate” rebels in Syria. What is the —- is the matter with them?
They are idiots. But then again Obama is sending the military to Africa to fight Ebola — Africom is in charge of that — and talking to Iran about helping us “do something — I think degrade and destroy are off the table”. So why not arm the “moderate rebels” — then it will be one giant SNAFU.

Thanks for the link, Grace. I read the NYT -article, interesting. We do not have Pax Americana any longer and we have weak and confusing leadership in the present White House , true . We are perhaps entering a new world, a multi polar world. I am not so pessimistic as Mr Cohen. Maybe we will live in “interesting times” as those Chinese fortune cookies often tell us ?
I just read on http://www.drudgereport.com that 3,000 army troops were being sent to Africa.
Now when they had that long line of trucks of Isis invading, I think 3,000 troops would have been just enough to tackle them.
The article states that some of what Americas armed personnel will do in Liberia is unclear. The WH said ‘many’ of them will be stationed at an ‘intermediate staging base’ where they will surpervise the movement of medical staff, supplies and heavy equipment.
Somehow “give em’ heck Barry” is not the same as “give em’ hell Harry.”
