As of now, I am in control here, in the White House

Meeting at WH Today on Amnesty by Executive Action

A leading Latino lawmaker this morning said he would be “negotiating” at the White House over ways President Obama can take unilateral action on immigration, seeming to indicate that he thinks the president can remove from legal jeopardy up to 5 million of the 11 or 12 million immigrants thought to be here illegally.

Rep. Luis Gutiérrez (D-Ill.) said on MSNBC:

In about an hour, I’m going over to the White House. I’ll be meeting with Jeh Johnson and the chief legal counsel to the president of the United States. We’re going to sit down and we’re gonna negotiate other terms and avenues the president can use in prosecutorial discretion. and I think we can get maybe three or four, even five million people.

It’s not clear what the result of the meeting was.

  1. Oh joy! And they will do it too.

I already called Gutierrez’s office once this week, objecting to his call for illegals to punish American.

And Jeh Johnson should be fired. He won’t be, But he should be.

  2. I listened to the presser for awhile, but quit listening after he blamed those awful Republicans about 20 times for the chaos on the border, and for not caving in to the false Utopia Obama wants for all of us. There were some good questions, though. Like: “Why doesn’t Obama meet with Republican leadership to resolve issues?” Earnest did his best to Allemande Left around that one. He’s still defending the indefensible. An impossible task.

  3. We really need average, everyday Americans to stand up and protest the fact that this government is more worried about kids from other countries than the ones who were born and raised here. It makes me sick when I think of the kids in inner cities who are living in poverty and this Administration is focused on bringing these sick, uneducated, non-English speaking children who will degrade the level of education American children will receive once they flood the schools.

  4. 3, 4, maybe even 5 million people [legalized]

executive order implementing as much of the DREAM Act as Obama can by the means

no wonder people come here illegally — it is clear that if you hide long enough we will violate our own laws to legalize your action

  5. Pardon me, but isn’t what Gutiérrez is suggested he do, meet with the president and change the rules as they see fit, um, ILLEGAL?

    • details, details. This is the new, transformed Amerika. And as one of Obama’s heroes Vladimir Lenin said — You have to break some eggs to make an omelet.

And we should respond as one Bolshevik did:

LEGEND HAS IT that in the early 1920s one of Vladimir Lenin’s fellow Bolsheviks asked him to justify the growing number of atrocities they were committing in the name of a socialist future. “If you want to make an omelet,” Lenin insisted, “you have to be willing to break a few eggs.” To which the Bolshevik replied, “Comrade, I see the broken eggs everywhere. But where, oh where, is the omelet?”

  6. This whole thing is so bogus. This assault by the illegal immigrants from South and Central America is by design. It is a plan formulated by the progressive backers of Obama. There is ample evidence that this was no big surprise — contracts were let, agencies were notified, centers are operating. EOs were signed, laws were ignored, and people were amnestied. So I call BS on this whole operation.

I am not defending Congress — Dems or Republicans for not having a comprehensive immigration bill, for not having a one month solution, etc. Dumping on Congress is popular — we all do it. And that’s what we are doing now — oh noes, they are going on vacation. So is Obama and the rest of WDC.

But this — this BS — this is all on Barack Obama, his backers and the undue influence of organizations like LaRaza. He is not surprised. He is pleased. And he will enjoy his vacation like never before. He is so over being President of the US — this is what he wants, and this is what he’ll get. A country of mutts and murderers.

Not one dime. Not one poor unfortunate child. The President of Honduras should get a bus and drive them back.

    • This latest immigration fiasco is yet another indicator that our government is currently broken. We have a POTUS who is unfit for purpose and who enjoys creating chaos at every level, a Senate leader who is a complete whack job, and a House leader who is inarticulate and out of touch with what’s really going on. We have a press that largely (not all) enable the mess. Our domestic and international policies are insane.

  7. The nation of no laws – other than BO’s. We Truly are a Banana Republic now.

And the GOP does nothing – as usual……….

  8. So one Democrat and one of Obama’s lawyer’s are going to determine our immigration policy? If it isn’t clear yet that we no longer operate under any semblance of a Constitutional republic, it’s already too late.

  9. The latinos in the USA illegally must be dying at an alarming rate. Ten years ago we were told there were 12-million of them. Five years ago we were told there were 12- million of them and now we are still being told there are 12-million of them, in spite of the fact that 3-4 million more sneak in each year. This does not add up.
