In the history of mankind, many republics have risen, have flourished for a less or greater time, and then have fallen because their citizens lost the power of governing themselves and thereby of governing their state. TR

Hillary: Grandchild Might Keep me from Running

Hillary Clinton says becoming a grandmother might keep her off the campaign trail.

Hillary spoke with Charlie Rose:

I’m about to have my first grandchild, which I’m thrilled about. I can’t wait. I want to see what that feels like. I’m not going to skip over it. I want to really be present, as I meet this … new person in our family.

Other interesting tidbits from the the interview:

Bush was “a very good partner to us here in New York as we had to rebuild.”

Really? Nice things about Bush? Maybe she won’t run . . .

“For some people running for president seems like the next step in a career,” she said, and they use it to “finish off their own sense of identity.”

Hmm. A dig a Bill?

“The job is an all-consuming commitment.”

Somebody tell The Bear next time he gets loose!

Hillary actually sounds fairly eloquent here and serious in her approach to deciding, and she genuinely appears not to have chosen whether to run.

  1. It’s official. I’m Hillary’ed out. By my count, she’s been on every network, been interviewed by every anchor known to mankind, has spoken before titans and university students in practically every state, has appeared at bookstores near and far, and what do we know after all that? Nothing, except she has the ability of saying the same thing over and over and over and over.

    1. I agree H-Out!
I know many woman I would rather listen to than her.
Untill I find out what, why, when, etc happened, or should I say did not happen in Benghazi I do not wish to listen to her.
She could have 50 grandkids, I don’t care.

      1. I’d love to know if seeing Elizabeth Warren get a lot of attention at the Netroots Convention in Detroit and around the nation campaigning for young Dems that she’s thinking she might have a tougher road than she previously thought. She also has to read that her book is panned and people are not too thrilled with her Reset Russia idea. I think she’s toast, Granny Hillary, not President Hillary.

    2. I agree too. What more is there left for her to get in the news about? I could care less about the Clinton grandchild. I suppose this is supposed to be America’s answer to Prince George.

        1. Rather sad for the baby no matter how much money there will be in his/her future. The baby will be coming into the world as a political calculation.

          1. I think Chelsea will love her kid–Chelsea seemed like a nice, grounded teen reading the blessings in church all those yrs–she was often part of the service. I am not sure what’s up with that marriage and it’s not my biz–but she seems OK.

          2. Maybe now. But the Clinton dynasty isn’t going to go quietly into the night. Like the Kennedy’s, they believe they are so far above all other mankind that either Chelsea or her child will be whined and dined by the Democrat controllers, particularly if they lose in the next election or the one after that.

          3. Star, I worked in the Clinton White House in the Residence. If they nothing else, they did a good job raising their only child. While she happens to have married into money on her own and her family legacy may not be stellar, she was a very nice teenager who respected all of us always.

          4. Of course II know you aren’t. She can’t help who her parents are. But I don’t like the idea that she “commands” $75K for a speech that she “donates” to their foundation. Sounds like a racket to me. I hope she doesn’t turn out like them because she was a lovely young lady that last I saw of her. Let’s face it: she will always be considered “royalty” because of her parents. If it were me, I think I’d want to hide from what their place in history will be. Sigh….!

          5. I think I once told the story of Lynda Bird on this site–when I was in college, she had a class in a room I was going into for my class. It was very crowded–her class rushed out and she stepped on my foot, ignored me and the SS guy said, “She’s very sorry.” I think she turned out to be a quiet housewife in Texas….Living in that atmosphere is very weird, I think. I thought Chelsea seemed like a nice, quiet girl. I don’t pick on the kids–any of them. Being a kid or adolescent is bad enough (I know you didn’t say I did).

          6. What? Stellar? I don’t think so — how’s the father-in-law doing with the law? Married into money? I don’t think so. She’s got the money.

  2. Hillary will be 69 yrs. old in 2016. Why would any woman (or man), with or without health problems, be foolish enough to think she could run this country for the next 4 to 8 years without jeopardizing her own health, and the health of this country??? It’s unseemly….and a little nutty. Reagan barely made it through his presidency due to the onset of Alheimer’s.

Hillary really ought to take Tina Brown’s advice to not even think about running…for all the obvious reasons and some not so obvious.
A gentle hint to Hillary that there is the distinct possibility that she could LOSE to the Repub.

Hillary doesn’t have any intention of running. All of these zillion $$$ speeches are meant to feather the Bill, Hill, and CHELSEA nest (Foundation). Chelsea ‘doesn’t care anything about money’ as long as there is plenty of it after her parents are gone. Her full-time ‘job’ will be running her foundation. In other words, it’s all about $$$.

    1. After Obama you’d think the Dems would try to support qualified candidates ? Both Benghazi Hillary and Princess SummerFallWinterSpring Warren are the LAST people a serious political party should get behind. Not even in the next administration! Never, ever, EVER!

      1. I agree with you Denise, however, there are still too many people that vote that have no idea of what’s going on.
My neighbor recently told me that he stopped listening to politicians years ago,….but he still votes.
When I asked him how he knows who to vote for he said it really doesn’t matter any more.
        Then why vote ?
These people do nothing more than to cancel the vote of the informed individual.
        Willful ignorance.

        1. I have a retired golf buddy that is as conservative as I am. He agrees with me on the national debt, spending on “subsidies”, deficit, fed over reach, unwed mothers popping a new baby every year, 2nd amendment, strong military, closing the border, immigration, etc, etc.

BUT says that he will vote for every democrat that runs.

          Go figure…

          1. I agree with Girly–being president takes some zip, even if you do hold onto the plane handrail. I am 70 and could not even take a one-day trip in a plane, even one with a bed, speak, shake hands, stand around, in and out of SUVs, fly back etc. And it takes way more than that. And I still think people with inconsequential head injuries do not get 6 mos of PT.

          2. Are you, by any (racist) chance at all, referring to the o’s cranial-scar-that-we-don’t-ever-ask-about?
            Ya oughta be ashamed.

      2. But Denise, the demorats are in for first however, You know,,, first Black President, First woman President, so I figure Liarwatha, will run if Hitlery doens’t!

      3. Considering the possible Republican presidential candidates, I don’t think the Democrats have much to worry about. They could put Sandra Fluke on the ballot and she could probably win.

    2. Reagan was recently voted best recent US president and Bill Clinton second best, so did not do him any harm. Most polls show her leading all Republican opponents, and way ahead of the field, she is running, after all normally after 8 years people vote for a change in the White House, but Hillary having fought Obama so hard in 2008 would be a change anyway and is the Dems only hope

    1. Hillary as SOS certainly set a standard. You can tell by Kerry following her. We might’ve been better off w/the Ketchup Queen he married.

  3. I know there is a lot of news, so this might have gotten lost–but Michelle is giving up Frrench fries (for a while). Obama blurted, “Really?” (Wash Times)

  4. I think that anyone— from Cabinet level posts, to Czars, to Junior aides, etc— who has the stink of Obama on them should be voted against until the end of time. From those Occupy scum to the corruption of the Obamacare votes, to the Benghazi disaster, to the current invasion at our Southern border, these people have given this faux President cover repeatedly. Obama’s America is an ugly place, just what these far left freaks love. Shameful. Worst President ever. No way Hillary should ever be elected to anything.

  5. The country and the world are literally coming apart at the seams, yet we should concern ourselves about Clinton and Obama. He’s in the news because he has been eating junk food with the “folks” to be like one of us (Washington Post). Somewhere else I learn that he likes guacamole and chips, Malia likes ice cream too much, and Sasha likes sushi. The Clintons are going to have a grandchild–whoopee! I’m beginning to feel that there will never be another American leader on the horizon.

    1. I agree. I can’t recall favorite food items of previous people in office or their spouse. I really do not care.
I am concerned why are we STILL sending money to anyone affliated with Hamas?

    2. Isn’t it disgusting whats running the country now? Open borders, more terrorists coming in to kill us and Obama won’t close the border? 3000 people murdered on 9/11/01 and then Hillary Clinton lets our Ambassador and three others get raped and murdered on another 9/11 and Obama has the nerve to leave the borders open and encourage ALL to come so the dems can get all the votes forever? This is the worst President we have ever had and if Hillary wins, the second worst is coming. And then we hear Obama has burgers and french fries the same day and minute the 300 were murdered in the shoot-down plane? You can’t make this stuff up — its like a nightmare in the White House.

  6. Hitlery will be fortunate to be a grandmother. She doesn’t care that other women won’t have that fortune because their daughters were indoctrinated into Hitlery and the Democratic (sic) Party’s advocacy of the genocide of the unborn. But for the aristocracy, their benefits always outweigh the potential benefits to the lower classes because only they are more equal than others.

    1. Hmm. A dig a Bill?

Not even close. More so the “Blank Slate” . If she runs, a big IF, IMO, she will have to distance herself from the Big O and his policies. He’s not going to let that happen as it’s HIS legacy that is at stake. Wasn’t she the one who said that the presidency is not appropriate for “on the job training’? There were also references to his “finding himself and his identity” – maybe not by her but by others. I hope she does not run … that ship has sailed especially with the Kook Kids wound up about Warren. That worked out so well for us with Obama.

    2. Absolutely right — they fight for the right to kill and have killed millions of babies like the Nazi party extermination, but not the Clinton grandchild. What horrible people the democrats are.

  8. Ahhh, Princess SummerFallWinterSpring. Howdy Doody, Clarabell, the Peanut Gallery, Mayor Phineas T. Bluster, Dilly Dally, and Flub-a-Dub. “What time is it, Kids? It’s Howdy Doody Time!” ;+}

      1. I definitely know who Princess SummerFallWinterSpring is, and I’m guessing Biden for Clarlibell and Bill Clinton for Phineas T. Bluster.

  9. From her mouth to God’s ears! I pray she doesn’t run — but I’m sure her faithful husband is pushing her to run. These two both need a lobotomy.
