I thought you might want to see this video of Rick Perry squaring off against a clearly exasperated Martha Raddatz of ABC, who is dripping with empathy for the illegal immigrants crossing the border but seems distinctly uninterested in why they are here and what should have been done to prevent it.
Because that would involve blaming Obama.
From Perry’s comments during his interview with Raddatz on Sunday’s This Week:
I don’t believe he particularly cares whether or not the border of the United States is secure. And that’s the reason there’s been this lack of effort, this lack of focus, this lack of resources . . .
The president has sent powerful messages time after time — by his policies, by nuances that it is OK to come to the United States and you can come across and you’ll be accepted in open arms. That is the real issue.
Raddatz asked Perry about comments he had made on Fox News suggesting Obama was intentionally allowing these illegal immigrants into the United States. Perry, who may not be as familiar with White House incompetence as you and I are here at White House Dossier, could only say that either Obama is inept or at some level he wants the immigrants in the United States, saying Obama might have an “ulterior motive” for his inaction:
When I have written a letter that is dated May of 2012, and I have yet to have a response from this administration, I will tell you they either are inept or don’t care, and that is my position.
While Obama is indeed inept in that he has caused an humanitarian crisis, I don’t think the president otherwise minds these people entering the United States. I think his main regret is that he can’t get the Border Patrol to register them to vote.

It’s really hard to be objective about this southern invasion and who or what caused this to happen.
Of course MrO’s public statements and Dream act foolishness has caused people from other countries to assume that children would be welcomed and nurtured by loving Americans. This new invasion was obviously planned and executed by Dem operatives who were doing the bidding of MrO or his corporate sponsors.
MrO calls the new illegals “the best and brightest” and a welcome addition to our country, but in reality they are the least of their families, sent to the US as pawns in the most cruel and blatant attempt to force Repubs to agree to amnesty for all illegals.
GovPerry is being polite when he doubts MrO’s motives and interest in this invasion. He’s most likely hoping for great infusions of federal money to his state to help care for these illegals, or else he would have blasted this invasion as what it really means to all of us.
100% correct assessment. Add that any federal aid those states will get is from taxpayers like you and me funding the illegals. No thank you.
I wish a Democrat governor would stand up to Obama. Or anyone but Perry, who like srdem65 said, has ulterior motives, both financial and political.

the only issue I have with Gov Perry is that at times he seems to be on the side of the US Chamber of Commerce and part of the GOP Establishment.
I’d still be much happier with his candidacy vs a Chris Christie or Jeb Bush.

Raddatz is one of the worst Obama slobberers..ever. Her performance as debate,moderator between Ryan and Biden was an absolute disgrace. Biden interrupted Ryan 62x and she did nothing to stop him. What an old hack!
Perry is absolutely correct in his assessment of Obama. Unfortunately, he will be termed out soon, and Obama’s main goal is to turn TX blue.a deep blue. Kalifornia is already gone – we can’t let those sleazy LaRaza criminals take Texas. Wendy Davis and the Castro twins have to be stopped.

I believe the arrival of these people was encouraged by Obama and his administration. To state this is a humanitarian crisis in Central America, the same thing can be said the humanitarian crisis in Syria, Iraq, Central African Republic, Nigeria and other African countries. There are millions of children being exploited, abused and abandoned. Is it our obligation to bring in these young people here when we can’t even take care of our own? To my eyes, Obama is responsible in orchestrating this exodus.
