In the history of mankind, many republics have risen, have flourished for a less or greater time, and then have fallen because their citizens lost the power of governing themselves and thereby of governing their state. TR

  1. Re the minimum wage jobs…..didn’t they only last a day or two at those jobs? Work is not in their DNA. Fuzzy history……

This is why our media is a mess, I’ve read everything from Malia working one day, a week, all summer as a PA on that t.v. set and Michelle hung out all day watching. So it was more a “take your daughter to work”

Also seen some p.o.’d college kids who covet these rare jobs and internships, but it also teaches them you’ve got to be connected in show business! And was Malia ever connected….LOL.

So, blah, blah, blah, minimum wage for my girls to teach them what?

    1. Didn’t Malia and Mama jetted to the Halle Berry CBS movie set so she could work on it? Wonder if she got paid actors union wages.

Malia will probably follow the Michelle Obama/Chelsea Clinton career path — minimum work/maximum pay.

        1. Who knows. Maybe she will receive a best supporting actress award too.
FYI I left you some links re. Twitchy a few posts back.

        2. You don’t have to join a union to be a PA. I didn’t know it was one day a week–they only shoot one day a week? That sounds wrong…oh, well, my own daughter was a PA on a film I wrote and coproduced–she had a blast, we all did! Good for Malia.

    2. Denise, Malia will get anything her little heart desires in Hollywood. Her father has spent more time cultivating relationships with Spielberg and Weinstein than with Congress.
I remember being shocked in 2010 when he sent Weinstein a book that he had read and suggested it be made into a movie.

If the walls could talk upstairs in the private residence, we would hear about a non-stop parade of celebrities every night for ‘intimate’ dinner parties and non-stop partying.

The Obamas have two priorities: Dialing for dollars and dialing for celebrities. Michelle loves to pick up the phone and call various and sundry celebrities, i.e. Halle Berry, Serena Williams, to come spend the day with her at the WH. She also keeps a check list of 5-Star restaurants she MUST visit.
Hopefully, the truth will come out as to the hedonistic lifestyle of these two phonies.

      1. Good point about the Obamas cultivating the relationships of people who wouldn’t give them the time of day if they weren’t in the White House ;) That’s how I see it and tells me a lot about the shallowness of the Obamas. And the Hollyweirds. I’m not a boycotter, but I have no interest in watching any movie or that uses the Obamas in any way.

A chapter in Greg Gutfeld’s book Not Cool really digs into the celebrity brain about why some of them are so attracted to POWER. Fun reading.

  2. Because I am a giver ….and because I was curious about a few things … here are some links that are interesting. Caution — Any research into the Office of Refugee Resettlement might send you to the tea trolley early.

Easy numbers on budget and spending. Accuracy — government numbers. Note — defense versus education, health, welfare.

    Hope I didn’t overstep Keith.

  3. Rick Perry: Oops

Is there a bigger buffoon anywhere? He needs to exit the stage now. The R’s do not need excess baggage going into the primaries.
Oh, and that toupe is beginning to look a little ratty, lol.

    1. I know what you mean girly, I had him on my “short list” for 2016 but scratched him off when he said he’s seriously thinking of moving to California after his govenor gig this winter. (was it a joke taken out of context?)

I don’t know why that upset me. I’m not a fan of either Tx or Ca (to live in) but it just seemed wrong to say that unless he’s leaving politics, then I don’t care where he lives.

      1. If that was a joke – it’s not funny; if it wasn’t a joke – he has a few screws loose. He does make me laugh, though. Does he really think his horn-rimmed glasses make him look smarter? LOL!

        1. Say what you want about him, he would have been a 10 times better President than what we got now, Obama, the real racist is in the White House.
