As of now, I am in control here, in the White House

Biden Flubs Boston Bombing Tribute

President Obama Tuesday passed the Boston Marathon memorializing duties to Vice President Biden who, typically, screwed it up.

To those quote “survivors”. My God, you have survived and you have soared. It was worth it, I mean this sincerely, just to hear each of you speak. You are truly, truly inspiring. I have never heard anything so beautiful as what all of you just said.

It was worth it? What is he even trying to say? I assume he didn’t mean their suffering was worth it. Please God, make that not be the case, even if it’s just a mental mixup.

He was probably trying to relate that the victims’ remarks made it worth it for him to come to Boston. But really? Was it some kind of imposition?

And why is Biden heading up the White House commemoration of this event in the first place? Where’s Obama? Holding a personal moment of silence. Maybe Joe begged for the job because he wanted to show Democratic primary voters what a healer he can be.

In that case, it wasn’t worth it.

  1. Not usually one to defend Biden, but on this I think he’s getting the shorter end of the stick.
I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt here — and take his “worth it” comments as referring to the time and suffering the bombing survivors went through in order to be able to attend a commemoration — regardless of who was speaking at it.
Think of it as Biden’s “Mission Accomplished” address.

      • I really don’t understand why it’s consistently called “hate” when people point out how consistently tone deaf and incompetent Biden is. If he were a man of accomplishment and honor who made an occasional mis-statement, that would be one thing. (It would, in fact, be George W. Bush. And we all know how gentle the Left was with him.) But Biden is consistently characterized by his bufoonery, his bizarre reactions (laughing through the VP debate?) and his completely missing the point of significant events. All this, and he’s the VP, too?

        I don’t hate. I ridicule him.

      • I would submit that most on the right don’t “hate” Joe Biden. What they feel is not a sense of hatred; it’s more of a sense of bemused scorn.

I wouldn’t call Joe Biden a lightweight, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he thought gravitas was the name of a Mexican beer.

If he were a serious player, he’d be the prohibitive favorite among Democratic primary voters, because he’s heir apparent to Obama’s legacy. I just checked RCP, and Hillary is currently wiping the mat with Biden, to the tune of a 53 point spread.

So there are a ridiculous number of DEMOCRATS that think Hillary would be a better president than Joe Biden.

Not exactly the most ringing of endorsements from the party faithful, no?

  2. Michelle made an oddball statement at her Fischer House photo-op too:

“This is the best part of my day — with so many great families, you guys,” Obama, who brought along the family’s dogs Sunny and Bo, said in her remarks. “But, more importantly, I get to shine a light on you all, the families — our military families and our military kids. Because you all are our heroes, especially our kids.”

    Read more:

I think those families would rather be anywhere else than be blessed by MO’s “light shining”. Oh well, she’s trying to be relevant and caring or something. Just wish she wouldn’t drag her photo crew around with her, this should have been more private and personal, those families have been through hell.

  3. He also said something about not liking Boston and hating the Red Sox.
    This man is a disgrace.
The people have elected him all of this years must really low info voters.
Add him and Obama and Holder and Carney and Reid and Pelosi together, along with the rest of their followers and we must be the laughing stock of the world at this time.
    So sad and embarrassing!
I love Boston and the Red Sox. My younger son did his undergrad and MBA there and lived there with his family until four years ago. I have been going there forever….a wonderful, beautiful and STRONG city.
I am offended by this administration’s attitude.

    • We got it the first time EMC, no need to spam. No matter what we make of “official” comments by this administration, is any amount of needless suffering “worth it” ? Just a poor choice of words.

      • Joe Biden is forgiven too much. This kindly old uncle stuff is crap. He is the Vice President of the United States and should act as such. If he can’t order his thoughts or control his mouth, then he should shut up and be assigned to be a silent representative and mourner of funerals.

    • so, EMC, just so I understand:

when a conservative criticizes or ridicules a Democrat, it’s right-wing hate.

when a Democrat criticizes or ridicules a conservative, it’s a concerned citizen pointing out a factual inconsistency.

do I have that right? I mean…I’m just a conservative hater, a toothless tea partying moron and therefore really stupid, so you might have to explain it to me in very small words.

  4. Found this interesting quote in a newsletter this morning:

“I am more afraid of an army of 100 sheep led by a lion than an army of 100 lions led by a sheep.” — Charles Maurice de Talleyrand-Perigord, French diplomat

We have a White House inhabited by the escapees from Little Bo Peep. No one is impressed.

  5. OT On Varney, explosive growth of child credit taken by illegals here who file taxes. Apparently they file with a number assigned other than an SS.The illegals are taking the child credits for children and relatives outside the country.

  6. It’s all connected with a master plan to control everything: why the President won’t allow the press to attend or photograph seemingly simple events or ceremonies, and why the Veep is sent to certain locations as a stand-in for MrObama.
It’s no coincidence that the restrictions on the press became tighter as the President’s favorable polling dropped. It’s not a secret that the WhiteHouse minions harass, intimidate, and threaten wayward journalists or their employers if they’re publishing something not favorable to the regime.
He didn’t go to Boston’s memorial because he didn’t want to be associated with the Islamic mad bombers, and the horrible toll of the dead and injured. He only went to FortHood because as CinC he couldn’t weasel out of it, and found it convienent to schedule some fund-raisers at the same time.
So why send ol’Joe to Boston; he probably volunteered because he thinks these are “his” people, plus he would get a friendly reception.
He says something stupid and insenstive to the survivors and the people of Boston, and no one is publically outraged; why? because those really are “his” people.

    • I honestly think they went to Ft. Hood after they found out George and Laura Bush arrived before the next of kin to comfort the victims. No press, nothing. Just real compassion. Then again, there were also fundraisers to attend….. ;)

      • speaking of Fort Hood, Denise, this Biden story reminded me of Obama’s FIRST Fort Hood speech.

that was the one (unless I’m misremembering) where he said he was going to talk about the tragedy in a minute, “but first–a shout out” to some Indian chief.

this crowd is a class act from beginning to end. not.

  7. “The sacrifice you survivors made with your bodies to give this administration a crisis to take advantage of was worth it; and I know, from the bottom of my heart, that we would allow the sacrifice of many more American bodies, if it meant scoring even more political points. Thank you.”

  8. Thanks a bunch for sharing this with all of us you really understand what you’re speaking approximately!
