Please excuse my being off topic, but today is the 178th anniversary William Barrett Travis letter from the Alamo. Of course we know the aid he requested never came, and Travis perished along with many other brave men. Let’s not abandon our patriots again, Texans. Early voting in Texas continues through Friday, with the primary on March 4th. Let our votes be our bullets.
Thanks Susan for posting the letter…
Yes, when men were men–and patriots.
You’re welcome, Lee.
Such bravery the likes of which we will never see again. Thanks for posting, Susan.
I worry that the great state of Texas will fall into enemy hands soon – the regime is out in full force.
Thanks Susan.
Someone should send this to the reprensible Chuck Hagel.
Clinton – Kerry – Rice – Power – the Obama sycophants — who knew there were so many people without honor.
Ms Arrogant Rice has “no regrets” about deliberately lying to the American people about the events in Benghazi.
She’s lying through her teeth, again; saying she doesn’t regret losing her sterling reputation and a chance to be the next Sec of State when the truth was revealed just doesn’t ring true.
No matter where her future takes her, the lies she told on five different TV news shows will hover over her like a dark cloud.
If there’s anyone who has more “regrets” about the lies told of the events in Benghazi, MrsClinton would take first place in that catagory.
Hindsight/20-20 is all well and good, as is trying to diffuse the issue when and if she decides to become a presidental candidate again, but telling the truth about the terrorist attack wouldn’t have caused as much political damage back then compared to what it will do to her in the future.
So true, srdem. You’d think Hillary’s experience on the Nixon impeachment committee would give her a clue. It was not the crime that destroyed his presidency, it was the coverup.
Susan Rice and Mr. Susan Rice (ABC producer) are worth somewhere around $26-$35 million. I figure they’ll be “rewarded” before Obama leaves office. They’re invested in the XL pipeline in Canada. Her future is very “green” and there are no consequences for lying, because in Washington a lie is translated into “misspokese”.
I have a sort of theory about her Secy of State job–what if she were never getting it and to even get the Natl Security Adviser thing, she thought she had to carry the water. I have zero evidence. But it is sort of shocking for her to stare into the camera, as she did Sun, and tell another outright lie. Her five appearances were what, 5 days later–they knew a few hrs later.
I guess lying is now the national pastime–those awful art forgers on 60 Minutes–bland, unrepentent, proud of their ability to lie and cheat. Disgusting! Nothing means anything anymore.
You shouldn’t be shocked by her skill to stare and lie. Obama did it for obamacare over and over again, along with the other loyalists.
I never fail to be shocked–and I hope I don’t come to accept this.
Spot on, Sadie!
Army will shrink to pre-WWII level
I’ve been trying to determine how many troops we had prior to WWII.
The 1973 fire in the National Archives in St. Louis were almost totally destroyed. They never did determine the cause of the midnight fire.
Army Personnel discharged November 1, 1912 to January 1, 1960 80% destroyed.
Is Hagel just going to make up a number now? Does anyone have some insights that I’ve overlooked?
No insight or numbers – but here is my free opinion.
Admittedly the Defends budget is ripe for intelligent cuts and eliminating pork. But this true for all of the bloated federal government. And I understand the growing role of technology — although as Ukraine and Islamic terrorism has shown when you are fighting in the streets….
But to cut the military to give more to the FSA is obscene
More at Legal Insurrection…
David Brooks writing about the nomination of Chuck Hagel in January 2013:
Chuck Hagel has been nominated to supervise the beginning of this generation-long process of defense cutbacks. If a Democratic president is going to slash defense, he probably wants a Republican at the Pentagon to give him political cover, and he probably wants a decorated war hero to boot.
I’m in moderation jail. Orange is not my color.
