In the history of mankind, many republics have risen, have flourished for a less or greater time, and then have fallen because their citizens lost the power of governing themselves and thereby of governing their state. TR

Palin Signals She May Run for President

Another tease? An effort to pump up ratings for her new TV show? Or is Palin seriously thinking of running this time?

I think she’s serious, at least at this point, but that’s just a hunch. Here’s why I think so.

In an appearance on Inside Edition last night, she sent out several unmistakable signals.

First, the most obvious piece of evidence, the obligatory, pre-presidential candidacy It’s not about me, but if enough people want me statement:

I think if anyone is asked by enough people, if enough people have that faith in you that you’re willing and able to put your country on the right path, I think that person should absolutely consider it and make sure it’s good with family.

Second, Todd’s on board, and he’s bashing the media, which is good GOP primary stuff:

Todd Palin: She would win hands down in my mind if the media did their job and presented each candidate on experience and on their policy and their ideas, but that’s not the way it’s set up today.

Inside Edition: Do you want her to run?

Todd: I mean, if she wants to, I will be behind her.

But most tellingly, Palin questioned the honesty of the man who is currently leading the field, Chris Christie, suggesting it’s unlikely he didn’t know what his aides were up to when they screwed up traffic on the George Washington Bridge. Christie has insisted he was out of the loop. Palin thinks that’s unlikely:

It’s hard to be the CEO of an organization and not know what the closest people to you are up to. It’s tough not to know. I know when I was Mayor and manager of this city, and then Governor of the state, certainly you know what your top aides are up to.”

I just want to make sure that every politician, everyone who’s elected, who’s given that honor and that sacred honor of a vote, people’s trust, that we don’t blow it. And you blow it if you ever try to hide anything. Whatever’s hidden, eventually light shines upon it. I just hope that truth is being told right now.

I thought it was interesting that she would hit Christie so hard. That’s not something she needed to do unless . . .

And then finally, there’s her new show “Amazing America,” which debuts on the Sportsman Channel April 3rd.

According to the Sportsman Channel, the show will take her all over the country to celebrate America, and not just to places where people hunt:

Amazing America with Sarah Palin is an anthology of stories that explore some of the most original, interesting – and sometimes inspiring – people, places and pastimes connected to America’s outdoors lifestyle. Governor Palin takes viewers coast-to-coast into what Sportsman Channel calls “Red, Wild and Blue America” – where the American Spirit and the Great Outdoors are celebrated in equal measure.

From everyday people to business leaders and celebrities; in cities, suburbs and towns; the leader of the “Status Go” movement – Palin – will find the stories of people and places that share and reflect her passion for what makes America the great, amazing nation that it is.

Wondering if she’ll be finding a particularly large number of original, interesting – and sometimes inspiring people in Iowa, New Hampshire, and South Carolina.

Here’s some video from Inside Edition. She just turned 50 Tuesday, and she looks and sounds great. Stay tuned.

  1. “bless his heart”. Gotta love this woman, yes indeed.

No. She’s not going to be a candidate for the presidency, ever. The US Senate, maybe.

    1. I agree, srdem. Love her subtle digs at the politicos. She won’t run for president, but she will be the power behind the constitutional conservative who will come forward.

      1. Thank You- Yes that would be a ticket I could get behind and belive many would. We need a major upgrade in the WH and most of the rabble inlcuding Hillary and Christie do not seem to be upgrades in the least bit.

  2. I can’t see her winning the Republican primaries let alone a general election, and I can’t see her wanting to divide the votes of conservatives and take votes away from Cruz or any other true conservatives. She can use the possibility as a bully pulpit though.

      1. I would too, but Hillary would never agree to that. She can–and will, I think–debate Hillary informally and quite often I should think.

  3. I sure hope you’re wrong–she if anything helped the ticket before and has been a spokesperson, but going to Fox and quitting the governorship and the blazing hatred she engenders–well, I would have to quit the snarking business. I can only defend so much, take so much, stand so much, bear so much.

  4. If she ran for President (and I don’t think she should), the Democrat Hate Machine could heat and and possibly reach nuclear critical mass and finally destroy itself. And that would be fun to watch. But she’s great at sending Tweet bombs making fun of D’, pointing out their core idiocy, and they hate that. The future for her? Hard to say. The Senate? A cabinet officer on a future R administration? Could be.

  6. I like Sarah Palin just fine and think she’d be a great neighbor and friend.

Just keep her away from national politics.

When will the GOP get serious?

  7. If she by chance DID end up living at 16th and Penn for a full eight years, the Left would go so completely unhinged during that time that no American would ever take it seriously again.

A theoretical Palin presidency would show the Democratic party up as the band of braying jackasses that it is, and could so thoroughly wreck its brand that it might well collapse.

And if that’s indeed true, then what the heck…Run, Sarah, Run!

  8. Oh please run, Sarah! There is no bigger embarrassment to the party and nobody can divide it like you do. Though just about every potential candidate polls around the double digit mark against Hillary, you would make this the biggest landslide in history. You could have women can’t control their libidos Huckabee,.shut down govt Cruz, ruin the state and under investigation Walker and govern by the bible Perry in your cabinet. You could repeal us back to 1950 and humiliate us wiyh yoir lack of knowledge about everything from history to economics. IIImagine, your IImaginpp

    1. It always amuses me when pajama boys pretend they speak for American women. Maybe she will be appointed as Secretary of Education so she can dismantle the worthless bureaucracy. Something must be done about our failing educational system, as evidenced by your post.

    2. You are an embarrassment. Do you have children who would appreciate living in a free Country as they grow older? Take a trip to a communist or a socialist Country with your kids. Than come home and take up for thoughts once again.

  9. Oh dear. Hope we are not going to endure what we did in 2012. Palin played the ‘will she or won’t she’ guessing game for what seemed like an eternity…and then said ‘no thanks’ at the eleventh hour.
And I hope the media doesn’t make Palin the focus of attention for the next three years. This would delight the DEM party. She won’t run, nor should she. We have many more qualified Conservatives who deserve the air time. Palin’s time has come-and gone.

Walker, Cruz, Lee – iike ’em all.

    1. I’m kind of thinking she should just leave it dangling out there for a while. Let the media and the Dems go after her like the rabid dogs they are. The more they do, the more people wake up to their complete hypocrisy. There is only so much you can support before you realize it’s off the scales/overboard (which is what happens every time someone mentions the name Palin).

  10. I don’t think this is OT because Palin is, after all, from Alaska. The Republicans had better get with it. Begich, who should be endangered because he is a first term Democrat who voted for Obamacare, has a twelve point lead over his Republican opponent. This is partly because there is an “independent” in the race who is drawing ten points away from the Republican. This is the same thing that happened in the Virginia governor’s race and caused Cuccinelli to lose. This appears to be a winning strategy for the Democrats, and these “independents” are in the Democrats’ pay. The Republicans cannot afford to think that they will just coast to victory in the Senate.

      1. Why not run conservatives as Democrats? Turn about would be fair play. The Republican party has already been infiltrated by liberals. Only difference is conservatives tell the brutally honest truth about the trouble this country is in with our out of control federal leviathan. Too bad the Democrat clapping seals can’t handle the truth.

  11. I certainly hope so.

If another RINO were to win the Republican nomination, they could be depended upon to give a long, sober, sonorous concession speech before replacing Senator Bob Dole as the next spokesman for Viagra.

Better a woman with ovaries for POTUS than a man with no testicles.
