As of now, I am in control here, in the White House

Obama Aborts the Opposition

If you want clear evidence that all President Obama’s rhetoric about reaching out to Republicans and uniting people has all been a plate of pork and beef baloney, then have a look at this, Obama’s celebratory statement Wednesday on the anniversary of Roe v. Wade:

Today, as we reflect on the 41st anniversary of the Supreme Court decision in Roe v. Wade, we recommit ourselves to the decision’s guiding principle: that every woman should be able to make her own choices about her body and her health.

We reaffirm our steadfast commitment to protecting a woman’s access to safe, affordable health care and her constitutional right to privacy, including the right to reproductive freedom.

And we resolve to reduce the number of unintended pregnancies, support maternal and child health, and continue to build safe and healthy communities for all our children.  Because this is a country where everyone deserves the same freedom and opportunities to fulfill their dreams.

This is among the most divisive and passionately debated issues in the nation’s history. And not a word for those who oppose abortion?

And who, please, is “we.” We affirm, we resolve, we recommit . . . Mr. President, it’s not we, it’s YOU.

Don’t claim to speak  for America when you don’t even make an attempt to include all Americans in your statements.

Obama’s “we” is actually no more than him and the smug company of his fellow liberals who have not the least bit of intellectual curiosity about opposing opinions and not a trace of question within their minds about their essential goodness and infallible reasoning.

The opposition is evil, wrong and dumb. Why include them in a statement? They don’t even get to be part of the American “we.”

America thought it had elected a visionary. But the man it put in office is nothing more than a very prosaic leftist, determined to exclude opposing opinions as he crusades for his agenda, immune to thoughts that someone else might have a point.

It’s all very run of the mill. And not the least bit presidential.

  1. The “we” is fellow lying liar abortion queen Wendy Davis. I didn’t see/hear the speech. Did he have an audience of smiling women who were proud of their abortions? Did they wear numbers on their name badges for how many children they killed?

  2. Nice post, Keith. I know many women like myself, who have evolved over the years, who used to be “pro-choice” – we are no longer. I-and they- have evolved on this issue, especially since it has become such a travesty (abortion on demand, abortion mills, abortion at all costs, abortion at all stages of pregnancy)) of what I thought I supported.
I don’t see any evolution on today’s “left”: their “demands” only seem to get more radical- AND more threatening.

  3. He was speaking to his political base, to the men and women who believe that abortion up to the moment of birth is both a right and the right thing to do.
50 years ago, unwanted or unexpected pregnancies were resolved in the “back alley or kitchen table” by abortionists who sometimes killed the mother along with the unborn child. Homes for “unwed” mothers and ophanages were in every big city, and the word “bastard” was stamped on some birth certificates.
Girls were thrown out of family homes by shamed parents, and middle-aged women hurt themselves when they found out they were to become menopausal mothers.
Shot-gun weddings were the norm, and the saying “the first baby comes anytime, but the second child takes 9 months” was heard everywhere.
That was before the magic “pill”, before a tried contraception that was almost perfect was available. Today, we not only have the “pill”, but an array of any number of gizmos, or medical items to prevent the unwanted preganancy.
An unwed mother today is just another statistic and not a cause for shame or shunning.
There’s no need for abortion on demand, for killing the unborn as a convienence, or to promote, advertise, and celebrate a most private and controversial decision.
MrObama’s words are stingingly anti-female, anti-child, and disgraceful.
Considering his mother’s background and the circumstance of his conception, had abortion been as readily available then as it is now, he most likely would have not been born at all. That is, so that his mother would not have been impeded in her “dream” by an inconvienent child.

  4. Those of us who cherish life must console themselves with the reality that abortion is a classic example of evolution in action. By asserting their perceived sovereignty over their bodies by systematically exterminating their own progeny, Obama’s constituents are ensuring that the future will belong to the children of the women who chose life.

    • No attention is given to the women who have abortions. Out of the 55 million abortions which have been performed, there have to be millions of women who have been mentally scarred by the experience: women who will always wonder what that child would have been like, women who when they end up alone in life will wish that they had had someone to love, women who will suffer remorse for their decision and compliance. This is not a pro woman agenda.

      • Exactly! There’s never a conversation about this, just an assumption that all memory and thoughts of what could be vanishes after the procedure. No complications, no talk of the risks that all medical procedures have, no talk of where to go for support or counseling post procedure, just the “joy” of not being “punished” with a baby.

    • Too bad those same women don’t seem to be capable of asserting their sovereignty over their bodies by adequately protecting themselves with the various methods of contraception. Or how about just saying “no”?

Little thought seems to be placed on that element of ‘choice’. Yet when a human being is created that is the time they shout they have a right to their own reproduction and their bodies.

Phooey, at that point it becomes a matter of inconvenience. They weren’t responsible enough to protect themselves in the first place, so just get rid of the result.

In my opinion, it is no longer her body once conception occurs. It is their body. Another human life is occupying spaced based upon your consent. Why do you have the right to extinguish that life because you now determine your choice to begin the process wasn’t the right one?

As for the majority of Americans? They want stricter abortion laws. So Mr. President is speaking for the minority once again.

  5. Well, politics and divisiveness- more of the same. The president feels it is perfectly fine for liberals to kill their unborn children. That would be one way the left will fall….eventually.

  6. Bravo, Keith. I’ve always been against abortion but became even more so after watching the coverage of the Kermit Gosnell trial. What kind of human could witness the carnage caused by abortion and still defend the practice? Someone like Obama, that’s who. He does not and never has spoken for me.

“With me, abortion is not a problem of religion, it’s a problem of the Constitution. I believe that until and unless someone can establish that the unborn child is not a living human being, then that child is already protected by the Constitution, which guarantees life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness to all of us.” ~ Ronald Reagan

    • When Texas put stricter rules on abortion clinics to make them safer and cleaner and eliminate the Gosnell type butchers, Wendy Davis filibustered that. How the heck did she become such a hero? That’s where the real war on women is, the Davis mentality and those who worship her.

      • “I’ll seek common ground – we all must – but sometimes you have to take a stand on sacred ground.” ~ Wendy Davis on her filibuster of the bill to limit abortions to 20 weeks gestation.

Abortion is the holy sacrament of the left, and Wendy Davis, with her catheter and pink tennis shoes, valiantly defended their butchery. That is why Abortion Barbie was hailed as a hero and is worshiped by them. Most of her financial support in her run for governor is coming from out of state leftists. I don’t know a single person who would vote for someone whose only claim to fame is filibustering for the murder of innocent human life.

  7. I found Charles Krauthammer’s take on the Roe v. Wade decision very appealing: he said that the decision took away the democratic process on the abortion issue.

  8. “Because this is a country where everyone deserves the same freedom and opportunities to fulfill their dreams.”
    Everyone but the unborn children.

    • Thanks for the link, Denise. Just sent a letter off to Corporate Headquarters expressing my disgust and my intention to boycott Subway from this day forward.

  9. But, but, but he won!!! So he thinks the whole of America voted for him and thinks with the same twisted logic he does.
Also, let us not forget that anyone who is not for him is his sworn enemyand their views are not worthy of mention.
He does not have the grace or the leadership skills to recognize that he is supposed to be POTUS not POTLeft.

  10. To me, abortion seems to fly in the face of what all scientific advancement over the last 50 years has taught us about conception and fetal development.

  11. When I was a newly wed and very very young, we almost went that
route. However, we decided against abortion and today our son
is an astrophysicist at NASA, and is 62. Trust me, we made the right
decision. He is a great guy.

  12. I spent ten years living in Chicago. As I told anyone who would listen back in 2008, the guy’s nothing but a Chicago style thug politician.

    No one listened then.

But of course, this is CA and they all wanted to believe in the oceans stopped rising, the Messiah (ht Barbara Walters) and other unicorns in the sky….

  13. I vote Democrat because I’m not concerned about millions of babies being aborted, so long as we keep all of the murderers on death row alive.

  14. Years ago, I left work for lunch. I walked down the street and to my surprise their was an abortion clinic. There was a young woman, 15 or 16 years who was closer to the sidewalk, by herself!!! She looked so sad, trying to hold back tears. Since she did not have a mom, dad, friend, boyfriend next to her. I merely said you don’t have to decide now. That is as far as I got! An obnoxious woman came running out (worker at clinic) screaming bloody murder telling me, she was going to call the cops. I may be wrong but these young girls are not given the postive and negative. Come in, do it. That’s it! That is sad.
