Obama Skips Church on Christmas

President Obama and his family skipped church this Christmas, despite issuing a call last week for Christians to remember the religious aspect of the holiday and not overdo the commercial. But he also spent a good amount of time with members of the armed forces serving in Hawaii, invoking the spirit of Christmas, even if not within a church.

The Obamas had attended church on Christmas each of the last three years they were in Hawaii.

Ten days ago while taping the annual “Christmas in Washington” special, Obama spoke of the birth of Christ, asking Americans not to forsake Jesus as they exchanged presents.

Every year, we mark the holiday season with celebrations and good cheer. And I should remind my girls that I like getting Christmas presents as much as anybody. (Laughter.) But this is also a time to remember the story of a child born to two faithful travelers on a holy night, long ago.

Obama played golf until late Afternoon Tuesday and then spent much of the holiday with his family. Christmas morning, the Obamas “gathered around to open up their Christmas gifts and sing carols,” according to the pool report.

Wednesday afternoon Obama visited with the troops.

President Obama spoke to about 580 troops and their families assembled around the tables and booths of Anderson Hall, a dining facility at Marine Corps Base Hawaii known informally as “Chow Hall.” Most of the troops are Marines, but the event was open to members of the Army, Navy and Air Force as well. Anybody who is active duty service in Hawaii was allowed to attend. The troops ate Christmas dinner earlier in the afternoon and were just clearing their trays before Obama arrived.

Obama, with wife Michelle standing at his side, spoke at about 4:30 p.m. local from a small square stage with red carpet that’s raised about one foot off the ground. The wall behind him was covered with wallpaper showing historical Marine Corps and Navy photographs and memorabilia.

The president, who held a piece of paper with notes, wore a blue short sleeved shirt and dark khaki pants, while the first lady wore a black skirt and sleeveless black and white top.

Obama said that he knows “a lot of our friends and comrades” are raising their families here while others are serving in Afghanistan and other places. Obama said he called 10 service members who were in Afghanistan, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia.

Obama said, “It was just a sampling of the incredible sacrificed a that all of you and your families make every single day. Michelle and I know that we would not enjoy the freedoms we do if it weren’t for the incredible dedication and professionalism and work that you do. The least we can do is just let you all know we’re grateful to you.”

Obama added, “We hope that the mess has done right by you and that the food is pretty good.”

Obama singled out several regiments, battalions and patrol units by name and those in attendance hooted and cheered when their group was called.

“Thank you so much for your great work,” Obama said. “We hope all of you have a Mele Kaliminaka and we hope you guys have a great new year as well.”

The drop by was hardly pro forma. Obama spent more than two hours taking photos with service members and their families.

It is a true religious cult, whose adherents reject Christianity yet still believe in Original Sin, transferring it from the evil of being human to the evil of being white. Thus Obama has become the white liberals’ Christ, offering absolution from the Sin of Being White. There is no reason or logic behind it, no faults or flaws of his can diminish it, and no arguments Hillary could make of any kind can be effective against it. The absurdity of Hypocrisy Clothed In Human Flesh being their Savior is all the more cause for liberals to worship him: Credo quia absurdum, I believe it because it is absurd. Thank heavens that the voting majority of Americans remain Christian and are in no desperate need of a phony savior. He is ridiculous and should not be taken seriously by any thinking American.

        Church actually as I find it very off putting to use it as a photo op.
        If he were a real CIC he’d have slipped away to the troops in Afghanistan but he’d be missed on the golf course! God help us all waiting for Michelle’s ski getaway she must be exhausted.
        Needless to say my ire is up way up.

      Comrades caught my eye. Also, re the photo of the down turned mouth in the car, I can see exhaustion not in a physical sense–he wouldn’t be out golfing so much if that were the case–but emotional exhaustion because his little world is falling apart. That’s never happened to him before.

    The man speaks from teleprompters all the time. One of the only times I heard him speak without a teleprompter was Roanoke, Va., remember the “you didn’t build that” speech. Will there be a time that anyone can believe this man’s words are from his heart? Where he is not looking side to side as if he thinks people are stupid enough to believe he is reading what someone else has written for him?

      Over the years, both Obamas have made statements about their personal lives that they later contradict with another statement.
      Lies, or an attempt to fit in with what they think White Americans do or say?

      it always seemed to me that they didn’t understand our traditions, or how we lived so that I assumed it was an un-American attitude. I have been informed (sternly) that what I saw as un-American is really Black culture and how they view White Ameican traditions. There is a large gap between the two cultures. We are not the same.

    Given his background and his refusal to attend church except for a photo op, Jesus is definitely not one of them.

    Two hours being photographed with troops – no wonder they didn’t go to church. Much more satisfying, don’t you know. And the poor troops; can you imagine if you were a soldier and said, “No thanks”?

      Having been an “attendee” at many of these types of military gatherings for “dignitaries”, I can vouch that most of the troops don’t don’t really want to be there. You are ordered to be there. and show respect. And smile. And applaud. And laugh at the jokes. Now you know. ;+}

    I can’t find any verse in the Bible that commands us to celebrate the birth of Christ. Nor can I find any verse in the Bible that even tells us the date he was born. From what I’ve gathered, December 25 is the birthday of some pagan entity called “Mithras”.

    Of course he skipped church. He only spoke of his fraudulent “faith” when he was running for president. As a wise man once said, “You stop running when you catch the bus.”

    Besides, most democraps are not really into the whole “God Worship” thing. They prefer to pay homage at the altar of government.
