In the history of mankind, many republics have risen, have flourished for a less or greater time, and then have fallen because their citizens lost the power of governing themselves and thereby of governing their state. TR

  1. Here’s a list of the recipients:

    Ernie Banks
    Ben Bradlee
    Bill Clinton
    Daniel Inouye
    Daniel Kahneman
    Richard Lugar
    Loretta Lynn
    Mario Molina
    Sally Ride
    Bayard Rustin
    Arturo Sandoval
    Dean Smith
    Gloria Steinem
    Cordy Tindell “C.T.” Vivian
    Patricia Wald
    Oprah Winfrey

About Cordy Tindell Vivian: according to his Wiki, in his book “Black Power and the American Myth,” he wrote: “Christians and Muslims can find common ground in the necessity to create new alternatives.” Why did he ignore the substantial contributions of Jews to civil rights?

    1. The list seems unusually long his year. Well, Obama did say he would be more flexible after his re-election.

Dick Lugar? Obama’s ‘favorite Republican’? Figures!
Lugar began mentoring Obama just months after he arrived in the Senate – taking him to Russia and Eastern Europe to inspect nuclear sites. He also ‘educated’ him on the START Treaty in 2010. The Tea Party sent him packing last year.

      Oprah? Free at last.

      Bill Clinton? Ew

  2. Watch that 1605 hrs. meeting. Big bail offering to insurance to cover his recovery effort on “if you like your policy, you can keep it” after the latest change to existing “law of the land.”

  3. Speaking of Obama’s schedules, he supposedly missed Gettysburg today because of the ‘whole website thing’. Funny that didn’t keep him from golfing or the basketball game. Speaking of the basketball game, Drudge has a pic of the Obama family at the game, and no one looks as if he or she is having a good time. (I realize I have two dangling participles but it’s late and I’m not going to work them.)

  4. When the hell does this pathetic excuse for a president have policy meetings with his appointees or is briefed by them on issues? For 40 or so minutes every day he gets a NS briefing and the rest of the day is filled with ceremonial garbage or travel to cities around the country for political fundraisers. I assume that in the evening he is browsing Facebook or Twitter. He must stay up late with that, because he gets up pretty late every day.

    1. I dont even think the “PDB” on “national security” issues is real.

If Obama is ‘never told/informed of anything’ then what the h#ll is in the Obama “PDB”…?

I know-care more about ‘National Security/World Events’ than this empty-suit Obama by checking my various open-source websites every morning (Imus, Drudge, WhiteHouseDossier :-)

  5. WTH Bill Clinton? An impeached president? A man who let Bin Laden’s ilk off the hook for the first WTC bombing? A man who took pot shots at the rising threat of Islamic terrorists for fear of jeopardizing his precious poll numbers?
