Two things struck me. First, the price you think you got may not be the price–there will be waves of corrrections. And two, she said the plan did not include prescriptions–so prescriptions are not a required element–but breat feeding supplies are? This makes no sense! I know, I keep saying that–but it doesn’t!
I read an article this morning that a Federal Judge, has refused Attorney General Holderan appeal. It was posted 11-18 on Politico. I have not seen this news anywhere else this morning.

Does anyone truly believe that someone in this administration speaks without the prior approval of the WH, and Jarrett? Duncan’s comments were most likely pre-approved by the WH in order to continue the divisiveness (as Keith pointed out yesterday). Now comes the apologies to correct a “misinterpretation” of what was said. But if I tell you not to think of a pink and purple elephant, the first thing you think of is a pink and purple elephant. The seed is planted in the minds of those that have issue with “white middle class” and they will run with the pink and purple elephant of Ducan’s comments, no matter how much he apologizes or explains.
I don’t know how one could ‘misinterpret’ the word white in ‘white middle class’. That’s about as concrete, black-and-white a word as one could use.

My mom was a working mom back in the 60’s. She was very successful at work and at home as a mother. Our family chose to live in the suburbs. Not in the middle of the Big City. Yes she was white. I as well did the same as my mom. We are both white. Did not appreciate Duncan comment. I have enough to deal with and pay attention to with with this admistration. I do not have the time defending my family’s choice in these matters.
By the way my father would be furious by his comments as well if he were alive today.
I don’t want to geeze out into a tremendous rant–but I went to public school in the burbs of St Louis (Kirkwood) and we had 2-3 testing days a year, but this was hardly worthy of note. We learned the three Rs, we could figure a percentage, we wold think, we had couple of memorable teachers, I was in debate club, we knew the difference between evidence and proof, we knew a piece of sophistry when it bit us on the leg, I became a science writer based on Mr Piro’s biology class and fed my family that way for decades. We read books–for info, for pleasure. And darn it all–we had handwriting! Now, I would not consider my kid educated in this sense at all. I naively sent her to school–and then started the wars with teacher after teacher, school after school. This is a battlefield now! And I sure don’t want this present crowd to be shaping it.
PS This Duncan person should think more about what constitutes and education, rather than an indoctrination–and lay off snippy, and completely unsubstantiated remarks about parents.

There was an excellent post on a site last week on 5 Myths about JFK. Not the one on WaPo! One of the myths was that he was very involved in civil rights. Not so. He was more conservative than his brother and didn’t want to offend Southern Democratic legislators, but Bobby persuaded him into taking a stand on school integration.

I recorded MJ this a.m. Took all of about 12 minutes to playback the entire 3 hrs. I watched the Jeb Bush thing for a minute or two. That was it. The lead story was the Canadian mayor followed by Zimmerman. PLUS – that Katty person was anchoring – a good reason not to watch.

There is a big difference between today and years ago. I feel years ago you would see a lot of T-Shirts giving their thought of this administration. I for one do not have the nerve to do so. I can’t believe I just put that in writing. I was in the store the other day, speaking to a friend about the days news. I turned my head witout thinking. I realized what I had just done. I was making sure no one was listening.
