In the history of mankind, many republics have risen, have flourished for a less or greater time, and then have fallen because their citizens lost the power of governing themselves and thereby of governing their state. TR

Obama Gets in a Final Round of Golf

President Obama Sunday played golf yet again, bringing his tally to six outings during a total of seven full days he was on Martha’s Vineyard.

Obama and his family ended their vacation Sunday night, opting for a late checkout from their vacation rental home and not getting back to the White House until 11:00 pm.

Obama did little on vacation other than play golf. After his daughters arrived Thursday he spent one morning biking and and another at the beach, but other than that he was on the golf course.

The president played Sunday with World Bank President Jim Kim, White House Deputy Press Secretary Josh Earnest, and Mike Brush, another White House aide and a regular Obama golf partner. At some point during the outing Earnest dropped out and attorney Eunu Chun, a major Obama fundraiser, joined the group.

It’s the president’s 29th time playing this year and his 140th round since Inauguration Day 2009.

    1. Yup, he always says how he’d like to spend as much time as possible with Michelle and the girls. Seems more like he can’t wait to get away from them.

And now a big bus trip to thrill his minions.

      1. Forget for a moment that he’s the POTUS and his family lives in the WhiteHouse. The Mrs has already claimed that she is a single mother, revealing that there isn’t much there, there in the marriage. The children are teenagers, ’nuff said.
The Mrs and the children go on “real” vacations without the Mr, and he spends most of his free time with the guys outside the home.

Unlike most modern Presidents who came from living in state provided homes for their positions as governors, the O’s went from living like most of us into the restricted, encircled life that we provide (or insist) for the First Family. They gave up their freedom to come and go as they please when the final vote was counted. It’s what they chose, but not what they wanted.
        IMO, they’re an unhappy family.

  2. What a difference a second term makes. No visits to the Bunch of Grapes bookstore or local ice cream parlor with the kidlets. Can’t help but think the proprietors must be feeling a bit discarded – sorta like an old pair of sneakers/thongs. Not to worry, half of the country has experienced that same feeling. Summer romances come and go.

Just noticed that World Bank President, Dr. Kim, played a second
round of golf with Preezy Putt-Putt. Wonder how much $$$ that’s going to cost us in terms of reducing global poverty.

    1. Haven’t seen any reported Osprey sightings, so it is possible. Amazing amount of pollution this family spews just moving to and from their various vacation destinations.

      1. Obama leaves a ginormous carbon footprint for a man so concerned about global warming. Sort of along the lines of Al Gore giving speeches about it while his motorcade sits with engines idling.

  3. Wonder what’s happening in the secret life of Granny R. Didn’t see any pics of her boarding AF! or MV. Hope we’re not shuttling her back and forth to Oregon or Vegas or Africa on military aircraft. Gawd only knows her SS checks won’t cover it. This inquiring mind would like to know how much $$$ the WH Granny is soaking us for.
