The Obama administration has granted members of Congress and their staffers an exemption from a provision of Obamacare that could have cost them thousands of dollars a year in added health insurance costs, according to Politico.
Congress currently allots itself generous health coverage through the Federal Employees Health Benefits Program. Nearly 75 percent of premiums are taken care of. But under Obamacare, our representatives and their worker bees will be thrown onto the health care exchanges like millions of Americans – without the FEHB subsidy. Fair is fair, right?
Well, just two days after Obama assured Democratic lawmakers he was on the case – though make no mistake, many Republicans want action too – the administration has ruled that while Congress must hit the exchanges, the subsidy for their insurance will continue.
It’s good to be the king. And it’s good to be the nobility too.

Disgusting and illegal. (Equal protection, you know.)
The sad part is that this really is no surprise. They are all so far removed from the reality of those they are suppose to represent.
What is GOOD for the GOOSE should be GOOD for the GANDER !!
You’re kidding, he did this?
So who exactly will be financing Obamacare, we the suckers ? Of course the corporations who donated to him will get waivers too. Pay for Play baby !
such loyal subjects.. now come and kiss the ring.
Meanwhile, I have 2 months left of TRICARE Prime that was taken away by budget issues and now BO thinks we need to pay even more?
I cannot find the words to describe my feelings about this.
Pingback: Congress to get Obamacare exemption: report – MarketWatch | Fox Global News
No one answered my question yesterday. I thought the Constitution forbade Congress from making laws which apply to the people but exempt themselves.
I can’t find that in the Constitution Julie.
Thomas Paine advised congress to not vote a rod against themselves, (paraphrased).
However that was back when they served for a few terms and then went back to the private sector.
What the current congress has done is voted a rod against their constituents.
It might come from James Madison, The Federalist 57. I saw that somewhere today. Too bad it’s not in the Constitution.
Thank you for inspiring me to pull out my copy of the Federalist papers, Julie.
The words of Madison in No. 57 are prophetic and chilling:
Thank you, Susan, for posting that!
It just demonstrates how far we have strayed from the original intentions of the Founders.
Shocking! Well, not really. Isn’t this how Chicago rules are applied to those in power?
Yes–how about that Werfel guy saying he didn’t want to change plans…He’s a high talker.

Oooh so if you are being over paid to screw americans you can opt out of obamacare. I guess it doent matter that us regular americans don’t want obamacare or his stupid plan for illegals. Here’s a novel idea put it to a citizen vote and we will decide for ourselves.
Another reason that this as is not being spied fairly…
Laws are only for US little people. The ruling class cronies, campaign donors, unions, preferred religions (aka Muslims), and now the bureaucratic staffers who write the laws the rest of us are forced to live under are exempted by authoritarian edict.
Time to take a stand and defund Obamacare – dontfundit.com
Liar, Liar, pants on fire:
Federal subsides for ‘large employers’, ie the U.S. Govt., do not kick in intil 2017. Last April dozens of lawmakers and aides, particularly in the House, threatened to quit or retire. Harry Reid’s office issued a statement on June 13:
“There are not now, have never been, nor will there ever be any discussions about exempting members of Congress or congressional staff from Affordable Care Act provisions that apply to any employees of any other public or private employers offering health care,” a Reid spokesman said at the time.”

Nancy Pelosi should be forced to read the entire bill — out loud — and write it on a chalk board (no errors allowed) and then write a 30 page analysis of it before she is allowed to benefit from any exemptions.
This time she shouldn’t be allowed to “vote” on it in advance.
“Laws for thee, not for me”.
This is so common now as to be like Dog Bites Man=Not News.
While he’s illegally modifying his law anyway, has he extended his “grace” on Catholics not violating their faith by being forced to purchase birth control and abortions yet? No? Anyone discussed that with Bart Stupak lately? How’s that executive order coming along, Bart?
And Boehner and McCain TRUST this guy…
McCain and Boehner trust him because they are cut from the same cloth. They are members of the ruling class. They’re happy to be the eunuchs of Pharoah Obama, as long as they and their fellow bureaucrats get their fair share of what’s left of America’s wealth.
But I’m sure YOU don’t trust Boehner and McCain.
Are you kidding? Boehner is from West Chester, just up the street from my 20, and I am VERY familiar with his “work” (or lack thereof) in conservative causes. McCain is a senile whacko bird who’s basically a poster child for term limits, which he proves more every day in his diurnal bowing to the White House. He seems to think this somehow makes him a “maverick”, but all it REALLY does is label him ready for the glue factory.
I have chronicled these and other opinions on these characters in this blog before. Believe you me, I would sooner trust Crazy Joe Biden than I would DESE guys. At least Joe is honest in his insanity, and openly ADMITS his alllegiance…
I hate to post such a long post, but here, as of last year, at least are the list of ObamaCare exemptions. Note the number of unions exempted.Hypocrites.

Campaign contributors all!
Yep. No doubt about it.
BTW, thanks! Not an easy job researching and then typing all of that.
Great list. thanks.
Perhaps someone better than I can help you make this a list that you can add to and publish it in link form.
And you are most welcome for my unsolicited suggestion that I cannot implement. :)
Who exactly will not be getting an Obamacare subsidy or waiver in America?
Everyone I personally know.

When you own a home then hiring the right Atlanta plumber can
make the difference between having peace of mind and constant worry over poor installation
practices and leaking pipes. All homes truly deserve the care which a professional Atlanta plumber provides.
Many homeowners make the decision of handling complex plumbing problems on their own
because hiring an experienced Atlanta plumber can cost a lot of money.
The problem with this type of approach is that the homeowner is setting himself/herself for more problems down the road.
Even if the homeowner is able to fix a leaky pipe or any other plumbing issue the fix will surely fail.
Alternatively hiring a reputable Atlanta plumber will
ensure that the same plumbing problem does not happen again
in the future.
Budget Atlanta plumbers do exist, though I caution against hiring a discounted
Atlanta plumber because any mistake he makes will cost you much more in the long run.
If you hire a reputable Atlanta plumber then you can be assured that you
will get top-notch plumbing service. The plumber you plan to
hire must be licensed to perform plumbing service and
the license number must be readily visible and should
be available upon request. Find out whether the Atlanta plumber you
plan to hire has any complaints filed against him and ask for references.
A reputable Atlanta plumber will surely provide you
with a list of references so that you can verify the quality of his plumbing
services. This step is particularly vital if you know very little
about plumbing Atlanta because the likelihood of being charged a huge
amount for a simple plumbing job is greater.
This site truly has all of the info I needed concernijng tgis subject and didn’t know who to ask.
Wow, this piece of writing is pleasant, my younger sister is analyzing

Keep up the terrific works guys I’ve incorporated you guys to my blogroll.
Wow, that’s what I was searching for, what a data! present here at this webpage, thanks admin of this site.
