NOTE: To learn more, get The Obama Scandals today.
President Obama claims that Republicans are busy probing “phony scandals.” But the sheer number of scandals suggests that misbehavior, abuse of power, and possibly corruption are not something being dreamed up by the GOP, but a defining characteristic of the Obama administration.
Here is a full list of the administration’s most egregious scandals. The ones we know about, at least. I’ve added four since the last time we ran the list – an increase of 20 percent!
1. IRS targets Obama’s enemies: The IRS targeted conservative and pro-Israel groups prior to the 2012 election. Questions are being raised about why this occurred, who ordered it, whether there was any White House involvement and whether there was an initial effort to hide who knew about the targeting and when.
2. Benghazi: This is actually three scandals in one:
- The failure of administration to protect the Benghazi mission.
- The changes made to the talking points in order to suggest the attack was motivated by an anti-Muslim video
- The refusal of the White House to say what President Obama did the night of the attack
3. Watching the AP: The Justice Department performed a massive cull of Associated Press reporters’ phone records as part of a leak investigation.
4. Rosengate: The Justice Department suggested that Fox News reporter James Rosen is a criminal for reporting about classified information and subsequently monitored his phones and emails.
5. Potential Holder perjury I: Attorney General Eric Holder told Congress he had never been associated with “potential prosecution” of a journalist for perjury when in fact he signed the affidavit that termed Rosen a potential criminal.
6. The ATF “Fast and Furious” scheme: Allowed weapons from the U.S. to “walk” across the border into the hands of Mexican drug dealers. The ATF lost track of hundreds of firearms, many of which were used in crimes, including the December 2010 killing of Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry.
7. Potential Holder Perjury II: Holder told Congress in May 2011 that he had just recently heard about the Fast and Furious gun walking scheme when there is evidence he may have known much earlier.
8. Sebelius demands payment: HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius solicited donations from companies HHS might regulate. The money would be used to help her sign up uninsured Americans for ObamaCare.
9. The Pigford scandal: An Agriculture Department effort that started as an attempt to compensate black farmers who had been discriminated against by the agency but evolved into a gravy train delivering several billion dollars in cash to thousands of additional minority and female farmers who probably didn’t face discrimination.
10. GSA gone wild: The General Services Administration in 2010 held an $823,000 training conference in Las Vegas, featuring a clown and a mind readers. Resulted in the resignation of the GSA administrator.
11. Veterans Affairs in Disney World: The agency wasted more than $6 million on two conferences in Orlando. An assistant secretary was fired.
12. Sebelius violates the Hatch Act: A U.S. special counsel determined that Sebelius violated the Hatch Act when she made “extemporaneous partisan remarks” during a speech in her official capacity last year. During the remarks, Sebelius called for the election of the Democratic candidate for governor of North Carolina.
13. Solyndra: Republicans charged the Obama administration funded and promoted its poster boy for green energy despite warning signs the company was headed for bankruptcy. The administration also allegedly pressed Solyndra to delay layoff announcements until after the 2010 midterm elections.
14. AKA Lisa Jackson: Former EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson used the name “Richard Windsor” when corresponding by email with other government officials, drawing charges she was trying to evade scrutiny.
15. The New Black Panthers: The Justice Department was accused of using a racial double standard in failing to pursue a voter intimidation case against Black Panthers who appeared to be menacing voters at a polling place in 2008 in Philadelphia.
16. Waging war all by myself: Obama may have violated the Constitution and both the letter and the spirit of the War Powers Resolution by attacking Libya without Congressional approval.
17. Biden bullies the press: Vice President Biden’s office has repeatedly interfered with coverage, including forcing a reporter to wait in a closet, making a reporter delete photos, and editing pool reports.
18. AKPD not A-OK: The administration paid millions to the former firm of then-White House adviser David Axelrod, AKPD Message and Media, to promote passage of Obamacare. Some questioned whether the firm was hired to help pay Axelrod $2 million AKPD owed him.
19. Sestak, we’ll take care of you: Former White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel used Bill Clinton as an intermediary to probe whether former Rep. Joe Sestak (D-Pa.) would accept a prominent, unpaid White House advisory position in exchange for dropping out of the 2010 primary against former Sen. Arlen Specter (D-Pa.).
20. I’ll pass my own laws: Obama has repeatedly been accused of making end runs around Congress by deciding which laws to enforce, including the decision not to deport illegal immigrants who may have been allowed to stay in the United States had Congress passed the “Dream Act.”
21. The hacking of Sharyl Attkisson’s computer: It’s not clear who hacked the CBS reporter’s computer as she investigated the Benghazi scandal, but the Obama administration and its allies had both the motive and the means to do it.
22. An American Political Prisoner: The sudden decision to arrest Nakoula Basseley Nakoula on unrelated charges after protests in the Arab world over his anti-Muslim video is an extraordinarily suspicious coincidence. “We’re going to go out and we’re going to prosecute the person that made that video,” Hillary Clinton allegedly told the father of one of the ex-SEALs killed in Banghazi.
23. Get rid of inconvenient IGs: Corporation for National and Community Service Inspector General Gerald Walpin was fired in 2009 as he fought wasteful spending and investigated a friend of Obama’s, Sacramento Mayor and former NBA player Kevin Johnson. The White House says Walpin was incompetent.
24. Influence peddling: An investigation is underway of Alejandro Mayorkas, director of the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, who has been nominated by Obama for the number two post at the Department of Homeland Security. Mayorkas may have used his position to unfairly obtain U.S. visas for foreign investors in company run by Hillary Clinton’s brother, Anthony Rodham.

Maybe they are called phony scandals because it is a phony administration
Ted Nugent has a scathing attack on Phony Prezzy. This is a good read and mirrors your Scandal Count, Keith. How can any of this be stopped when we have a lazy, do-nothing Congress? We, the People?
http://www.wnd.com/2013/07/the-greatest-phony-americas-ever-known/
I read Mr Nugent’s comments as well…Rock on Ted
Excellent perspective of the “phony scandals” …This tyranny must come to an end…no one is above the law!
We do need however, to consider what the your definition of “egregious scandal” is…LOL–Big smile-Big smile
It speaks volumes that you’d cite nutcase Ted Nugent as a source.
my classmate’s aunt makes ($)68/hour on the laptop. She has been out of work for 9 months but last month her payment was ($)20459 just working on the laptop for a few hours. Go to this web site and read more… can99.ℂℴM
“22. An American Political Prisoner: The sudden decision to arrest Nakoula Basseley Nakoula on unrelated charges after protests in the Arab world over his anti-Muslim video is an extraordinarily suspicious coincidence.”
Didn’t he violate the terms of his probation by using an alias and using the Internet? IIRC, Nakoula defrauded many people, including the elderly. He also dealt drugs. He’s scum.
Well that was certainly convenient for Obama ;) So they lied about the reason he was arrested ?
He was taken back into custody because he violated the terms of his probation.
After his video was blamed for Benghazi.
That was the event that alerted his probation officer that he had violated his terms. Even if he had not made that film, I doubt Nakoula would have been able to live out the duration of his probation because he seems to think he is above the law.
And, even if he had not made that film, the consulate still would have been attacked.
Nakoula set himself up to be a tool.
And he’s still UNDER the jail, right? No angel, but does all “scum” get this special attention?
People who violate their probation have to go to jail to serve out their term.
He didn’t violate his probation. A second party posted the video, he never touched the computer directly. Second, Freedom of speech is protected, even if what he says creates chaos. Obama has alot more affect than some video maker. GET A GRIP
This is in response to anon omous below. You are wrong. The video was constructed for the sole purpose of being uploaded. To claim that because ha had someone else come in the room and click “upload” that this wasn’t a violation of probation is absurd. Next you will be trying to convince us that by hiring someone to rob a house, you technically weren’t involved.
And no, freedom of speech is not a complete exception. I can be arrested for hate speech. I can be arrested for inciting violence. It is not a right without some limits.
Wrong. He defrauded banks. Maybe he also committed other fraudulent acts. I have several links about him, but I’m too lazy to look at all of them.

Huffington Post is a liberal site…they have a slant in favor of progressives….try again
You nutjobs think everyone left of Faux Snooze is a liberal site. It is truly funny how many creative excuses you come up with to avoid the truth.
well, and if somebody’s scum and does drugs, we should find a reason to lock him up? please.
And how many were reported by the media?
And how many do we not know about?
DHS is full of scandals going unreported.
You mentioned the GSA gone wild, but nothing about the ridiculous spending by the IRS. And don’t forget they are getting HUGE bonuses!
http://www.atr.org/irs-credit-cards-used-purchase-kazoos-a7711
And my fellow Republicans can’t seem to a darn thing about even ONE of the scandals. I am wholeheartedly depressed that our President and his Gang of Thieves get a free off into the sunset after stripping our nation of its core values.
That bothers me more, the lack of checks and balances in our government. But we still have our whacko birds Rand, Cruz, Palin and others who are speaking up …. and being smacked down by the media.
And being smacked down by the Republican Party. There is a concerted effort to take Rand Paul down. Lardy-da Christie is a hit man for someone just as he was a hit man against Romney.
And McCain, Graham et al.
This GOP civil war, as the Dems are framing it, will probably give us President Hillary, not to mention Obama’s full control of the House and Senate in 2014. Ugh.
My only hope is that the early GOP polls are putting the Whacko Birds on top :)
The MSM is LOVING the Christie-Paul war of words. For laffs every once in a while, I turn into MSNBC. They can’t contain themselves at what they call the complete breakdown of the GOP. What’s sad is that they may be right. I don’t see the GOP as strong, as leaders – Obama is determined to remind the public every day about “phony scandals” and call the GOP obstructionists. And the GOP sits and takes it.
The media is not on America’s side, and it hasn’t been on our side for a very, very long time. These patriots the state-run media smacks down are the only ones standing for We The People. We need to tune out the naysayers and join the conservatives in their fight to force the Republican party to hold this administration accountable for their misdeeds and violations of our rule of law. That’s why it is so important that we let them know that we stand with them in their fight. Senator Cruz said it best, “the only way we win is if a massive grassroots army makes its voice heard, and demands of our elected officials that they stand up and fight”.
That’s why I think demonstrators should pick specific scandal or two and protest those indefinitely, as someone suggested on Benghazi yesterday, rather than go for an amorphous call for impeachment. Let’s go along with Ted Cruz and make a continual protest on Obamacare.
And these are just the scandals we know occurred. Imagine the ones we have yet to learn about.
This is interesting ….
http://www.nypost.com/p/news/national/how_kindle_parked_bam_ScERjnPFVTMNF1JfT1vtiI
Corporations should really stay non-political because now I won’t use Amazon. I have a Nook (B&N) so I’m off to a good start :)
Yikes. You’d think the White House would issue a price schedule for companies who want rent Obama for a visit. Would save a lot of time and allow the parties to get to the bone immediately.
This really bothers me! I use Amazon all the time! Didn’t know this! I agree with why do companies become political. I will have a harder time boycotting Amazon since unfortunately I have a Kindle… and just bought one for my son! Should have known this sooner!
Sell them.
Don’t forget the purging of the military and the firing of so many generals
Also:
→ EPA going easy on wind companies for bird kills, and solar companies for toxic waste.
→ Denying Gulf drilling permits in violation of a court order.
→ Exceeding the debt ceiling for the last two months and borrowing without authorization
→ Giving money to the PA in violation of Congressional statute.
→ Cooking the books at the Commerce Dept and the BLS
→ Moving people onto permanent disability handouts after their unemployment benefits are exhausted
→ Releasing from detention illegal aliens who were arrested for crimes they committed.
Sure, “don’t forget” about nonsense that only exists on conspiracy theorist blogs.
Sick.
This list is exactly why Obama is so desperate to win the 2014 midterms. He doesn’t want anything to be investigated. Not just him, but his friends, etc.
Bingo.
Exactly, so why are the GOP so complacent and enabling him to get away with these freaky-deaky gonzo “phony scandal” claims ?
Or we just need a bigger Oversight Committee :D
I’m probably skating into tin foil hat territory but many of the GOP are wealthy old men who have been in Washington for a long time and it’s quite possible some of them have a skeleton or two in their closets. Perhaps they’re afraid to do anything about Obama for fear his aides/thugs will leak gossip about them to the media that will destroy their careers and/or personal lives. I’m not defending or excusing them but just trying to figure out why they refuse to do something, anything about the corruption in the WH.
Rumors abound that John Roberts voted favorably for Obamacare because he was being blackmailed. Also lots of rumors that the Clintons were threatened. So no, I don’t think you’re in tin foil hat territory. Just par for the course.
“Rumors abound” meaning you personally made it up.
Seriously, if John Roberts were being blackmailed, why would he vote in a way that was favorable to Obama only ONCE?
Obama gets a pass from congress on the left and right because anyone that speaks out against him and whose race is white will be labeled as a racist and will commit political suicide.
The tone was set when they got away with vilifying Gerald Walpin early on in the Obama administration. This is what happens when a President thinks his views trump the other two co-equal branches of government AND the mainstream press remains silent. Our “free press” is restraining itself — scary.
After Obama’s comment about not believing everything you read in the Huffington Post, perhaps they’ll turn on him ? One can hope :)
Nah, O’bots’ minds have been destroyed and are incapable of coming up with new or contrary thought.
Kind of like those Japanese soldiers at the end of WWII who refused to surrender.
Good list–one tends to forget a few, we’re only human.
Was a GREAT list! I copied it and sent to all my friends that might not remember ALL of the scandals! I hope that they send it on and remember that the election next year will be really really important!
I would say Obamacare itself and make Sibelius a minor point under it.
Exactly Julie. I’ll never forget the 60 Senate Democrats passing Obamacare in the dead of night on Christmas Eve 2009. Then The Swimmer died and a Republican won his seat. That required Congress to turn the rule of law on its head to pass this monstrosity. The supposedly pro-life Congressman Bart Stupak took the word of the liar-in-chief that no taxpayer money would be used for contraception and abortion. Everybody knew that was one Executive Order that Preezy Revenge would never enforce. Last but not least was the cryptkeeper’s sleight of hand changing the rules to sneak this monstrosity through the Senate with reconciliation, requiring only 51 votes to make Obamacare the law of the land. Obamacare, from start to finish, is the epitome of Washington, D.C. lawlessness, deceit, and corruption.
Sebelius. Sebelius. (Sibelius is an honorable name that should not be associated with the ice queen.)
Good list BUT
You forgot the LOBBYISTS working in the WH –
Also relatives of MSM in the WH
And Keith……….you have only scratched the surface of Obama’s
scandals. There are probably many more hiding out there, from
what I have read.
We should just call them Obamaphonies scandals. Surley those give aways and the increased numbers in the food stamp debacle qualify.
You mean the free phone program that was created by Ronald Reagan, but that wingnut idiots started calling “Obamaphones” in 2009?
Not sure Keith-
But I’ll bet if you had the time to go back through 5 years of posts, you’d find you reported on at least another two or three dozen..
Congress has ten times as many reasons to impeach and convict Obama than they did Andrew Johnson, Dick Nixon and Bill Clinton combined
“Congress has ten times as many reasons to impeach and convict Obama than they did Andrew Johnson, Dick Nixon and Bill Clinton combined” – Grumpy
Yes they do, but they are prohibited by the unwritten 28th amendment which is operative in ALL of Obama’s desires.
-Amendment 28 – Limiting Other Branches of Government from Interfering with The Divine Right Presidency of Our Glorious Leader Obama
1) It shall be noted by any and all Representatives, Senators, and Supreme Court justices that President Obama is Black. Because of this, any challenges to his authority, including passage of laws he does not agree with, failure to pass laws he proposes, and any suggestion of impeachment proceedings will be deemed racist, and will not be permitted.
Proposed 2/10/2007
Ratified 11/4/2008-
There are a number of black potential presidential candidates that might be very good. First to come to mind is Dr. Ben Carson. I fear that the first black president might be the last one for a very long time. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Not that he fooled me the first time. I certainly did not vote for him, but did try to keep an open mind after the election results came in. My mind is now closed.
I’ve always thought Condoleezza Rice would make a great president.
So that’s what the loopy judged was referring to when she ruled that it was wrong to “dishonor” Obama.

Keith: Excellent list. The Obama’s “Dirty Dozen x 2”. The Failure-in-Chief and the tribe of progressives have cost us dearly. The 2009 stimulus set aside $80 billion to subsidize politically preferred energy projects. REMIND THEM IN 2014 AND 2016 at the ballot box.

You’re missing some……(this is only a partial list of scandalous issues facing this President and his administration. The biggest scandal is that he is President, twice.)
1. Aurelia Fedenisn – Sr. State Department officials “influenced, manipulated, or simply called off” several investigations into misconduct.
2. Passage of Obamacare – not a single Republican represented in talks; Cornhusker and Louisiana Purchase agreements, bait and switch maneuvers, etc.
3. The economy – decreased participation rate, increase in food stamp enrollment, loss of personal wealth, increased cost of basic needs, etc.
4. Ignoring a court order to ease up on restrictions against deep water drilling in the Gulf of Mexico, instead issuing tougher restrictions.
5. Slashing the pensions of Delphi’s non-union employees leaving’ pensions alone.
6. Prosecuting Thomas Drake, NSA whistle-blower who leaked unclassified information about government waste and fraud
7. Sequestration and the resulting “punishment” he instituted – closing the White House tours, cutting of National Parks, FAA, etc.
8. Gun Control – using several tragedies and human props to penalize law-abiding citizens while doing nothing to prevent criminals from obtaining guns.
9. $1.1 M Obama Bus for state-of-the-art armored vehicle used in 2011 for his re-election campaign.
10. AIG – Under Obama, Edward Liddy directed $13B to Goldman Sachs and billions more to other banks. Then paid bonuses to AIG. Justice Department announced on 5/23/10 it was closing criminal investigation into AIG.
11. Helping Families Save Their Homes Act – $75B to help distressed homeowners. Expanded by Geitner in 7/2009. Fannie and Freddie to refinance mortgages up to 25% upside down from the original 5%, increasing the loan-to-value ratio to 125%. This creates negative equity and does not help homeowners; it just shores up home prices so balance sheets look better and less insolvent.
12. Chrysler and GM thrown into bankruptcy.
13. EPA releases personal information on 80k farmers to environmental groups.
14. Fort Hood called “workplace violence” and shooter is still collecting paychecks.
15. NRLB board appointment ruled unconstitutional and they are still working.
16. Gibson Guitars – illegal seizure of their property.
17. EPA using drones to spy on farmers.
18. John Corzine – MF Global not prosecuted for mismanagement of investor funds and large losses.
19. DHS – added 1.6B HP rounds (more than the military), armored assault vehicles, and drones. No reasonable justification offered.
20. Voter fraud in Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Florida (key election states). Voting machines tampered with in OH, IL, NV where the touch screens selecting Obama when voters pushed Romney. Numerous counties at 100% votes for Obama – no such report for Romney.
21. Whistleblower Protection – yeah right
22. Authorized assassination of US citizens via drones.
23. Gulf Oil Spill
24. Zero Dark Thirty – classified information on Bin Laden raid leaked to Hollywood.
25. Seal Team 6 helicopter crash.
Not to mention the GM and Chrysler bankruptcy reorganizations which clearly violated existing law. Obama stole money from the secured creditors and gave it to his union friends.
Keep the public dumb and get away with stealing, murder, etc. make yourself look like the Mesiah and save them. He must think we all have double didget I.Q.

You can duckduckgo.com for the complete list – I do not trust the g00gle.
Not to mention forged birth certificate. (25)
Forged Selective Service Registration (26)
Stolen Social Security Number (27)
Used mother’s social security number for years as well (28)
Used mother’s name to hide identity and defraud educational system(29)
Never graduated Columbia University (30)
Hiding school and passport records (31)
Add as many more dozen as you like, the hits keep on coming
What about all those IRS employees working for the IRS Union full time on the taxpayers’ dime?
And want to be exempt from Obamacare!

You know what is the most scandalous, and goes completely unmentioned in the press day after day and month after month? The fact that our government is allowing corporate and military planes to fly unfettered throughout out sky-ways and SPRAY their geo-engineering metal concoctions down upon unsuspecting Americans, who certainly have a RIGHT to not be poisoned in such a fashion. This spraying is not only poisoning our human nervous systems and immune systems, causing cancer and Alzheimers, and who knows what else. . .but is has caused an 85% depletion in our pollinators (the bees, also known as Colony Collapse Disorder). Through this same spraying program our ozone is getting ever more depleted and global warming is exacerbated by many 100s of times. We need to stop the denials and the secrecy of this program that is responsible also in a large degree in the extinction of thousands of living species upon planet earth. Does anyone care to address THIS scandal?

You can add a long, long list of every agency in the Obama administration failing to follow the Freedom of Information Act as they stonewall requests so that organizations such as Judicial Watch have to file lawsuits against them.
One of the most serious scandals of this administration is Obama and his appointee’s absolute snubbing of and failure to enforce and defend federal laws they don’t like.
You left one out: Tom Donilon’s leaking of national security secrets which presumably Holder is still “investigating”.

Actually, he has a lot more than 24 scandals. Even this much longer list isn’t a complete list of every Obama scandal: Here are 226 examples of Barack Obama’s lying, lawbreaking, corruption, cronyism, etc. http://danfromsquirrelhill.wordpress.com/2013/07/27/obama-226/
You didn’t include the Seal Team Six scandal which may eclipse all of the others. A whole lot of strange things went on with their final, deadly mission.
Agreed they left that out and it looks like conveniently killed potential whistle blowers

I’d add Obama’s end-run around the bankruptcy courts during the US government’s takeover of General Motors and Chrysler. (“Somehow” the secured creditors’ interest got subordinated to UAW pension claims, remember?). And then President Obama demanded that the Gen Mgr of General Motors resign — which he did. (Where exactly does the Constitution give a US President authority to tell an executive of a private corporation to “resign or be fired”??)
Additionally, there was the never-proven allegation that many of the GM dealerships forced to close during the “restructuring” were targeted because they contributed to GOP -not Democrat- candidates.
