As of now, I am in control here, in the White House

Quote of the Day || May 22, 2013

“So she’s taking the Fifth. Well, me, I’m taking the First.”

– Barack Obama

A note from our attorneys: This is not a real quote

  1. I’m also trying to take the 2nd. Why do people need G-d, free speech or guns? I…ah…government will provide everything they need.

  2. Please clarify Keith;
The First tee time at Andrews AFB, the First flight to Obama’s Hawaii retreat, the First one to seize opportunity from a crisis. The First to admit he didn’t know about or have anything to do with conspiracy theories so adamantly suggested by those evil Republicans.

  3. MsLerner’s action might be the pivot point that takes us one giant step toward a constitutional crisis that might make Watergate look like a bunch of amatuer mistakes. It’s not just the IRS, it’s the DOJ, Homeland Security, the HHS, the State Dept and others all swirling in missteps, overreaches, lies and deceits that show the Executive branch out of control.
Invoking her 5th amendment rights means that the actions of the IRS agents was more than overzealous employees protecting their jobs and their President, but a criminal conspiricy to deny certain Americans their rights.

  4. With the decision to label a Fox News television reporter a possible “co-conspirator” in a criminal investigation of a news leak, the Obama administration has moved beyond protecting government secrets to threatening fundamental freedoms of the press to gather news.

Obama administration officials often talk about the balance between protecting secrets and protecting the constitutional rights of a free press. Accusing a reporter of being a “co-conspirator,” on top of other zealous and secretive investigations, shows a heavy tilt toward secrecy and insufficient concern about a free press.

    Guess who wrote that?

    • Remember this from October 2009?

After months of taking incoming fire from the prime-time stars of Fox News, the Obama White House is firing back, charging that FOX News is different from all other news.

“FOX News often operates almost as either the research arm or the communications arm of the Republican party,” said Anita Dunn, White House communications director.

“All the networks said, that’s it, you’ve crossed the line,” said CBS News White House correspondent Chip Reid.

So why is the White House out to “de-legitimize” FOX? Not because it has opinions, but because its opinion voices are so hostile to Mr. Obama – and because FOX News is, as it has been for a decade, by far the most watched of the cable news networks. In fact, its ratings have increased 13 percent this summer. So if FOX is feeling any pain from the White House’s stance, it’s crying all the way to the bank.

    • Heh, it wasn’t so secret afterall. Twitter certainly lit up and many assuming Valerie Jarrett called their personal stenographers to the meeting to protect Obama “at all costs”.

I recognized some of the names who smeared ugly on Sarah Palin in 2008 from their blogs, most were given jobs in the big boy media as a thank you ;)

  5. Q: ” Are you now, or have you ever been a member of the Obama administration ” ?.
A: ” At this time I decline to answer that question and invoke my right under the 5th Amendment as my answer may tend to incriminateme “.
