In the history of mankind, many republics have risen, have flourished for a less or greater time, and then have fallen because their citizens lost the power of governing themselves and thereby of governing their state. TR

  1. Don’t forget the PPoA event. I have to genuflect and kiss the ring of Margaret Sanger’s current chief of Prevent Proliferation of America now and maybe offer a newborn’s corpse in tribute. Call Kermit and see if he has one; it is on speed dial.

  2. Poor Bush had to invite that one kid in the neighborhood nobody likes.
How much anyone want to bet between his narcissist ‘remarks’ coupled
with whatever monstrosity Michelle wears all eye’s will be on the Obama’s?

    1. Lizzy, I think it will be hard to ignore the sight of a sleeveless Sheepdog grazing thru the piles of BBQ so….I agree with you.

    2. Talk about “Hurl Alert”! Talk about spoiling an otherwise dignified and joyous occasion! Forced to sit there and smile during The One’s speech who has used him as a punching bag for the past 5 years. Now, my friends, THAT’S torture! Remember when America had a real president? We’ll be reminded today. It will be a breath of fresh air.

    1. Sen. Richard Burr (R-N.C.) said if OPM decides that the federal government doesn’t pick up “the 75 percent that they have been, then put yourself in the position of a lot of entry-level staff people who make $25,000 a year, and all of a sudden, they have a $7,000 a year health care tab? That would be devastating.”

Burr added: “And that makes up probably about 30 percent of the folks that work on the Senate side. Probably a larger portion on the House side. It would drastically change whether kids would have the ability to come up here out of college.”

Yet Burr, a vocal Obamacare opponent, is also flat-out opposed to exempting Congress from the exchange provision.

“I have no problems with Congress being under the same guidelines,” Burr said. “I think if this is going to be a disaster — which I think it’s going to be — we ought to enjoy it together with our constituents.”

I’m with Burr. I’m sick and bloody tired of those who pass laws that affect us turning around and exempting themselves.

  3. Not Nabob the Knothead

Hopefully the MostArrogantOne will be aware that from Waco to Dallas/Fort Worth via I-35 is teeming with new construction, i.e. business industry, new homes, etc. He will probably be scheming for a way to garner some of the riches Texas citizens are enjoying. I’ve been up and down that route and yes it is booming.

  4. whaddunno – Obama starts early the day he’s with Bush, although I suspect Bush will have already been up for 4 or so hours before the 10am event kick-off.

  5. Excuse me, but this is Bush’s event. Why can’t his schedule just say he’s attending it? What an ego! I’m sure he won’t be the only speaker?

  6. Poor 0bama has another thing to blame Bush for, being up before the crack of noon for the first time this week. Must be rough getting up early enough to attend anything at 10am when it’s normally 10:45-11:45am. The sacrifices this man makes to keep each and every one of us safe. The laser like focus on jobs. Remember, he will not rest until everyone seeking work is getting work, he will not rest until…. well, you get the point.
