As of now, I am in control here, in the White House

Obama Excited by California’s Attorney General

With the first lady some 3,000 miles away in Washington, President Obama today commented on the allure of California’s attorney general, Kamala Harris, arguing that she is “the best looking attorney general.”

I’m not sure what the competition is like, but judging by her photos, he may be right.

Obama was speaking at a fundraiser in Atherton, California for the Democratic National Committee. From the pool report:

Obama gave a shout-out to Rep. Mike Honda and to state Attorney General Kamala Harris, noting a couple of times that she is, objectively, easy on the eyes. “She’s brilliant and she’s dedicated, she’s tough… She also happens to be, by far, the best looking attorney general…. It’s true! C’mon.” The crowd laughed.

And here she is, newly crowned by the president as the Princess of Prosecutorial Pulchritude.

Kamala Harris

Well, the president has a good point, she’s quite charming. But, you know, imagine how it would stir up the sexism police if Bush said such a thing. Or, God forbid, Cheney.

  1. She is very attractive.
She could be the “best looking” anyone, but my money is on the “best looking” reason Barry will be sleeping on the couch tonight.

  2. As a married man, I would think such a comment to be inappropriate, but I don’t think propriety has ever been anything Obama has been concerned about. What a cad.

On the upside, at least that wasn’t a comment made by Bill Clinton

  3. Barry, I hope you had the Secret Service pick up some REALLY GOOD shellfish for Moo at Fisherman’s Wharf. Between your 5% pay cut and now this babe admiration, you will need it.

Sleep well my friend. Thats all you will be doing.

  4. She’s a looker, but the Obamas, both of them, sure seem to be tapping into sexual appeal lately. Is that all that matters? (IMHO neither of the Obamas have “it”.)

  5. Well, back in the ’60s and ’70s, these would have been “fighting words” bringing out the guns of the likes of Gloria Steinham, Hillary Clinton and possbily even Michelle Obama. But since a very liberal Democrat said the words they are not “fighing words” and no one recognizes the real war on women, inequality in the work place and politics.

    • Agree. Imagine if the CEO of a major company said the same thing about a female employee in a public forum.

I’ll bet that woman would likely have a discussion with HR. At best a comment like that is stupid and inappropriate (not funny, as Obama obviously thinks).

At worst it’s sexual harassment (look up the definition).

  6. Obama is an idiot and just can’t help himself. Recall him getting some tips from Tiger Woods? Hmmm, we now know what those tips were.

  7. Obama thinks he’s clever but I agree with earlier comments that his comment was sexual harassment. It certainly was uncalled for. Seems odd that while he’s making remarks about beautiful women that Michelle is on the other side of the country talking about being a single mom.

  8. who can blame him , still on the campain trail , hard to stay focused

will someone please tell him he got the job , and the office is in washington where we hope the rest of the goverment works
