Less than 24 hours after he stood in the White House briefing room to announce that he was temporarily abandoning negotiations to avoid the fiscal cliff, President Obama is in Hawaii golfing.
It’s the first order of business for the president, who hung out at his rented compound until late morning before heading out to the links.
Obama is playing at Marine Corps Base Hawaii. It’s the 109th time Obama has played since the beginning of his presidency and the 17th time this year.
Obama Sunday will attend a morning memorial service for the late Sen. Daniel Inouye (D-Hawaii).
Obama is golfing with White House chef Sam Kass, Hawaii pals Bobby Titcomb and Mike Ramos, and aide Marvin Nicholson.
