In the history of mankind, many republics have risen, have flourished for a less or greater time, and then have fallen because their citizens lost the power of governing themselves and thereby of governing their state. TR

Obama Heads Directly for Golf

As the country makes its way to the edge of the fiscal cliff, President Obama today is making his way to the golf course, playing for the fourth time since being reelected.

An unusually warm Washington fall has allowed Obama to golf right up to his Hawaii vacation scheduled for later this month, when he will play constantly.

And we’re keeping score. Since Election Day:

Obama Golf Outings: 4

Meetings with Boehner about the Fiscal Cliff: 1

It’s Obama’s 108th time golfing as president and his 16th time of 2012.

  1. Maybe rename it The Fiscal Sand Trap? I am sick of cliff anyhow. I am a professional namer and these people are insultingly bad at it. It offends me. They already HAD a cliff–the Medicare throwing off cliff…Hmpf. No standards.

    1. Just wait until they start pushing the “Doomsday” plan, Star. Once we fall off the “fiscal cliff”, that will be the new vernacular in D.C. politico speak.

  2. Does he strut the same pimp bounce down the fairways as he does when
walking up to a podium ? My guess is it depends on a good or bad shot made.

Been so disgusted with his re-election , I’ve stepped back from staying informed as before..I have a good life to live & I’m not going to let Mr. Ovomit bother me anymore.

…will come up for air in approx. 4 yrs. :)

    1. No rest for the weary, ol gator. We need you in this fight. George Washington spent 10 long years away from his home fighting to free this country from the tyranny of the crown. While I’m no George Washington, I’ll do everything in my power to restore the legacy he and our founders left us.

The 2014 mid-terms are right around the corner, and it would give me great pleasure to make as big a donation I can to any solid conservative who challenges Bawling Boehner in the primary process.

      1. Susan…..I think the big effort should be to regain the Senate. There are six toss up states…S. Dakota, W.VA, Alaska, Arkansas, La and NC. I say start there.

        1. Agree with you both that taking the Senate is the greatest priority. However, until Boehner is replaced with a principled conservative, we are never going to get a handle on the spendthrift in the White House. Boehner is so duplicitous that he is purging conservatives from the fiscal committee ranks. As someone said earlier, he is as useless as teats on a boar hog.

    2. I agree and so do many of my friends. It was exhausting to go through the election and be pounded and trashed hour after hour, in the media. As long as that media has the IN that they do with the White House, there is nothing we can do. No one will every ask him a legitimate question, No one will every ask him if he is embarassed, like they asked Bush every second, NO one will ever hold him accountable for anything…not even the DEATH of a US Ambassador..which by the way, is an ACT OF WAR. But nope…nada, zip, crickets from the media. It is criminal, disgusting and very very frustrating. THE ONLY thing at this point that will be Obama’s downfall, will be some sort of event that even HE cannot get away from

      1. Terri, well said. The reelection was very, very frustrating. Depressing. I want the US to be a shining beacon in the west but now…..it´s almost like the US is occupied by enemy forces. I am hoping for the event that will be his downfall too. There are many possibilities for that out there. He has such a murky past. And the media might turn on him when the economy collapses.

  3. An anonymous source at the WhiteHouse known only as “Mo” reports that the President told his wife that his doctor had ordered him to get more exercise and fresh air every chance he had. MrsO, concerned for her husband’s good health, graciously offered to go with him to the golf course, but he insisted that she go shopping instead. Unconfirmed reports are that every golf outing costs MrO in excess of $10,000 in personal credit charge purchases.

According to “Mo”, the President picked three young men to accompany him on his golf exercise on the basis of their having passed the CPR course offered by the FBI because of uncomfirmed reports that security is lax at the golf course. While the SecretService is charged with the responsiblity of keeping the President safe, they have reportedly been seen at the 19th Hole drinking alcoholic beverages, playing Texas Hold’em, and not paying attention to their duties.

  4. American voters are so gullible. Let’s bash Mitt Romney for being able to afford the lifestyle that Baraq Obama actually lives, courtesy of the US taxpayer.

    1. The people who voted for this moron, are uninformed, happy to live life that way and should be held accountable for every single thing that happens to our country from now on…but sadly none of them will understand a word I just wrote

  5. We hear so much about his golf outings, never hear about family outings unless it’s an official photo op (church, ice cream, museum, school event).

There was just so much about the Romney and Ryan families during the campaign that looked like, well, real families.

  6. OT ( But just gotta say )
Just finished watching a special on the Nixon presidency and to hear Gerald Ford saying ” our long national nightmare is over ” after being sworn in as President damn near broke my heart.
    Will America’s new nightmare end?
The cover up of a burglary brought down Nixon, yet by my count 6 American deaths are being covered up, 2 by Fast & Furious, 4 in Benghazii, and all Dear Leader does is golf. Shameless!

  7. Been in seclusion but stick my head up once in a while only to see that things
are as bad as I thought. He’s so dangerous and stupid treating America like a
Petri dish and he’s the mad scientist.

  8. Yes, the stupidty of the American electorate is giving us indigestion. I’m having a tough time dealing with this. Our son and his wife (both college profs) voted for him (what would you expect?), and I can’t bear to speak to them I am so angry at them. They know better. Their jobs are in the Ohio university system and they are always worried they might get laid off because of Ohio’s fiscal problems. Yet, they still voted from the imbecil that sits in the Oval Office. I am so happy they are not coming home for the holidays. I know that sounds terrible, but I am livid at them about their votes being wasted.

    1. You may wish to get some therapy – not wanting to see them for the holidays – that’s pretty deplorable no matter your political orientation.

      1. You may wish to knock off the Alinsky tactics, Melvin. This has nothing to do with politics. That’s pretty deplorable that you don’t have any empathy for those of us who see what a grave mistake our loved ones have made. Last month, more than half of our citizens voted for the death of America as founded. Preezy Revenge is agitating for another civil war so he can accomplish his goal – divide and conquer. Unfortunately, the messiah of the left is no Abraham Lincoln. He’s more like a Robert Mugabe.

        1. Susan, what you said is exactly what I am feeling. I know so many others who are in disbelief that our country will never be same. Having to see him for another 4 years makes my skin crawl. Thanks for your support. Your description of the left’s messiah is spot on.

        2. I too fear there is a divide starting. The happiest people I’ve met are the gun shop owners…everyday since the election is XMAS.

      2. Melvin, it’s not deplorable and I don’t need therapy. They never come home for the holidays and this year I am truly happy about that.

          1. Judge, judge, judge–plenty of families–microcosms of the country–have been ripped apart by the schism over this person. Some are buying in, others horrified. Plenty of family meals have been ruined, believe me! I have never seen its equal. Even during Vietnam.

          2. Mel, baby…..you don’t have a clue what you’re talking about. I’m at peace but I can’t say the same for you. Go have a therapy session. Maybe, just maybe it might help.

  9. What a POS… He can’t take a weekend off from golf to attend the Army/Navy game, in which the winner receives the Commander in Chief Trophy? He has to send Joe Gaffe, instead? Totally disgraceful what this guy does.

    1. Amen, NavyDad. Great photo op too, with him telling the mids and cadets all about how he “GOT” Bin Laden with the Seals……..Wait, the election is over…..He doesn’t need that image any more. Never mind……………

    2. Being a Navy Vet I dont want that pathetic, co-called “CINC” Obama anywhere near the historic & honorable Navy-Army football game. (history & honor; two things Obama has NO clue about)

    3. The Obamas will show their true colors at the so-called Christmas program to be aired on TNT. One of the performers will be a Korean singer who wrote a song about killingout troops and their familities. The White House has been asked to not appear, but so far the Obamas have declined to not dishonor our service people and their families.

    4. Better he didn’t go. After the rousing welcome that Uncle Joe got, bho is probably glad he didn’t attend the game. I don’t think too many would be happy to see him either.

  10. He must have reserved his tee time before he knew that the Army-Navy game would be today.

As Commander-in-Chief, he certainly would have wanted to support and honor our servicemen rather than playing golf wouldn’t he.

Well, he sent Biden instead, so no biggie. It’s tough to avoid those schedule conflicts.

  11. Just for the fun of it…

Anyone want to take bets on the over/under of Obama’s golf outings in Hawaii? I say 12 during his 20 days there. What’s everyone got? Over or under?

  12. The next Obama question is will he postpone Hawaii if the fiscal cliff is still unresolved?

Will Michelle and the girls ignore the extra expense and fly out early on their own?

…and will the media once again ignore that outrageous behavior?

    1. Last year he had to delay his Hawaii trip for 6-7 days due to the ‘debt ceiling crisis’. but he made up for it by extending the vacay an extra week. He wasn’t about to lose one day of taxpayer largesse. The MOOCH and the kidlets had already flown the coop the week before, and lucked out with three weeks on the beach. Almost sounds like he planned it that way so Queenie could have more time.

The big question is why the heck is he taking THREE weeks off?? He hasn’t put in a full days’ work in 4 years. He’s still campaigning. Boehner & Co. need to put strict limitations on his extracuricular activities and personal spending as part of the ‘deal’. Two weeks vacation/year and no more campaign trips. Official business only. That’s it!
