President Obama cancelled a campaign rally this morning in Orlando and is returning instead to the White House.
Obama had been scheduled to be back at the White House by 2:45 pm ET but will instead return by 11:30 am.
From a statement by White House Press Secretary Jay Carney:
Due to deteriorating weather conditions in the Washington, DC area, the President will not attend today’s campaign event in Orlando, Florida. The President will return to the White House to monitor the preparations for and early response to Hurricane Sandy.
Notice Carney says the return is due to “deteriorating weather conditions.” That is, Obama is probably returning early less to “monitor the preparations” than out of concern by officials that they might not have been able to get him back into Washington if they waited until the afternoon.
Or perhaps the political team finally calculated they would on balance be worse for his reelection prospects if he were seen campaigning while the New Jersey shore was becoming part of the Atlantic Ocean.
Chief surrogate campaigner Bill Clinton will attend the Orlando event in Obama’s place.
UPDATE: Obama has also cancelled a campaign appearance scheduled for Tuesday in Green Bay, the White House announced.

Obama should just go back to Chicago and take notes on what Leadership looks like.

What would be ideal would be to see BO doing a fundraiser in San Francisco at about this time. While there he could also attend the Giants parade and save them a trip to the White House. This would endear him even more to the San Francisco electorate which is so “in love” with him and Nancy Pelosi. If the storm keeps his plane grounded out there the two of them could use the time to attend a few hours of remedial reading classes at San Francisco’s city college which could serve to greatly enhance the quality of their services to the public. A little extra arithmetic schooling could also help BO get over on helping his daughters 7th grade homework assignments.
Speaking of The World Series (and ‘Green’ companies), BHO sure can pick losers, huh?!!
At long last, at least the appearance of leadership. Perhaps He can take some time now to honestly answer America’s questions on Benghazi??!
Perhaps ABC, NBC, CBS and most news outlets could stop covering for Him?!!

Dear Mr. Obama,
May I ask you a stupid question . . . :) . . . Did you ever start a business? Did you ever try to convince someone to buy a product, other than malarky? Did you ever go online and do those forms with regard to opening a business? Have to answer that really dumb question “Does this business manufacture or distribute, alcohol, tobacco, or firearms?
I wonder if Eric “Fast and Furious” Holder ever read that last part?
I know this line of questioning is stupid. Because Americans know the answers. The answer is no. You’ve done none of this, and it shows, other than gun running and to do that you had to become President! I have no such ambition. Guys like me, at this point in the “Obama Depression” just want to keep food on the table stay out of the clink and avoid people like you because all you do is make people broke or dead. That is a skill set I happily lack. So does Mr. Romney who the American people desperately want to elect to lead the “Romney Recovery!”
You see, the American people have a very refined dipstick for malarky. These debates have demonstrated that you, and the liberal media are full of it, Ms. Crowley should have just hopped up on the table with a set of cue cards and given you a gold star at the end of that debate at Hofstra. Further, that Mr. Romney possess the character, competence, and the raw capability to sit in a chair that had we left empty these last four years we all would have been better off.
While at times we have let our guard down and allowed citizens who share your perverted views on liberty, and the free market, to inhabit that office “We The People” are wide awake and raring to go now, just like we were in 2010. Why you ask are we so agitated? Because we innately sense that this is a point in history that will be looked back on as a “to be or not to be” moment in American history.
“We The People” have the rarest of opportunities to get the right citizen, into the most important job, at the right time.

It is my feeling that he MAY have been manipulated by Cheney, Army, Lott, etc. He MAY have carried a grudge over his fathers experience with Iraq’s assassination effort. He MAY have received convoluted intelligence. Water under the bridge. Lot of water. But Bush is not running, nor is he in play AT ALL! Your beloved pathological, lying, narcissistic (and I mean, on steroids) pretender in chief, doesn’t care about you or anybody else! He’s degraded the presidency and the Nation. And is desperate to continue. His family and friends will never have these toys again, Hollywood will make him a movie star, which his what he is really suited for. Acting. I know there are intelligent actors out there, but not a plethora. He will win an academy award for something he didn’t earn. And Hilary just might be politically destroyed. He really, really, really does not care about you or anyone else. Wake up.
This was not only stupid, it was dangerous. The entire entourage was placed in possible jeopardy but someone, an adult, should have made the decision to keep AF-1 on the ground at Andrews. I thought he said yesterday at another photo-op that the the storm was big and serious or dangerous or something like that. Why did he launch when he had the forecast about the deteriorating weather at hand? This is more of the SOS. Good political strategy? Only if you are a total moron and can’t tell the difference between common sense and dumb/devious.
BHO promised to provide everything necessary for those effected by Sandy. He also promised our men in Benghazi the same thing.

Dear President Obama,
In the interest of history let’s do a little sum up thus far. You “wrote” a book. Confessed your transgressions. Promised your fellow citizens that nebulous concepts such as “hope” and “change” would enable them to find fulfillment in their life via the federal government. You left out that the finances of the federal government are built on various cons and scams that would not even pass the most rudimentary of financial reviews. You started a war on Libya. Admittedly, I’m for this, though not in the manner upon which you are doing it. You sacrificed Egypt to tomorrows enemy. You signed the most unpopular piece of legislation since Prohibition in the form of “Obamacare.” Without one Republican vote. You blew various moments of core principles, like siding with Nancy Pelosi as she attacked the CIA, and calling a cop a racist albeit in a veiled manner. Let’s not leave out the massive spending on some of the most insane things I can conceive of while not providing money for those things that the federal government has a vital role in doing, because if you did, you would lose more of your liberal support. Soon you are going to be advancing a “jobs plan,” do I need to mention what happens to businesses that you appear at?
As I drove through “Irene” the saying “Keep Calm and Carry On” came to my mind. It is high time that the citizens of this nation realize that there own safety and security in no small way rests on the personal choices that they decide to make, and no longer allow themselves to be conned and scammed by people like Al Gore telling them that the world is coming to an end if they do not plug their rectums with a mercury filled light bulb. Or that one thing or another is going to kill them. Something is going to kill all of us. I don’t much see the point in making society a basket case trying to stop it while not enjoying our lives and pursuing our American dreams, of course within some semblance of reason, but in the end, no matter which one of us buys the farm. The show must go on. Real Americans know this. There has to come a moment when the tones of liberal politicians singing the tune of victimization, fear, and race baiting fall on deaf ears. Considering what liberals tend to do to those people while promising to do something far different is criminal. How could you steal a mans dignity and then ask him to vote for you?
In the midst of this I have at times shouted into the wind in an effort to persuade other free citizens to stick together, and not permit you and those of your ilk, to divide us in your usual manner via race and economic class. You see Mr. Obama your way is the easy way. Your way requires little thought and only marginal effort. I, “We The People,” have a much tougher job. We must persuade our fellow citizens that being free is our most important goal, and that your philosophy is it’s greatest threat. That is why I keep calm and carry on in a relentless fashion as I steer my life through a nation that is being so poorly led, I know of no other way to preserve this nation from tyranny.
On November 6, 2012 we will make one great stride in attaining that goal.

My daughter attends UCF and takes classes away from the main campus. She wishes Obama would quit flip flopping since his arrival/departure/ non arrival/non departure has really messed up her commute.

Our GDP is worse this year than even the previous 4 years and everything is down hill. I’m Hooked on Ebonics.
Several years ago, the young man two doors down from my house was shot and killed on his front porch. I knew he from the time he was about 9 or 10 until he was killed, he was 25. Over the years I watched as he went from being a sweet little kid with a puppy, to a thug that raised and trained pits to fight. He dealt drugs out of his momma’s house, and fathered at least 4 kids with four different women.
A few days after the shooting, the media was out covering a prayer vigil for the young man. The local reporter interviewed the mom, and I heard her telling the reporter that her son was turning his life around, and going to church, etc. Two days before he was shot, there were 15 to 20 cars in and out of the driveway at the house, all the time mom was at work. Yeah, he was turning his life around. More like she was still turning a blind eye to what was going on.
The upside is, the younger brother has now taken over the dead brother’s “business” so I guess mom will have the extra income to cover his funeral.

My guess is that maybe 100 losers bothered to show up in Orlando and he “canceled” because “he has such important business back in DC” (as if 0BowMao EVER actually DOES important business — other than campaign for 3.5 years). Same for Wisconsin. It would hardly look like he is “WINNING” with small crowds while Romney is getting tens of thousands!
