As of now, I am in control here, in the White House

Carney: Libyan Consulate Attack was Terrorism

After first suggesting the attack on the Libyan consulate was a spontaneous reaction to a movie depicting Mohammed, then saying maybe some bad actors took advantage of a movie protest, White House Press Secretary Jay Carney today said the assault that killed our ambassador was indeed a terrorist attack.

I think, self-evident that what happened in Benghazi was a terrorist attack. Our embassy was attacked violently, and the result was four deaths of American officials.

Self evident? It wasn’t self-evident to the White House before.

Carney continues to say the raid was opportunistic and that the timing – Sept. 11 – might have been a coincidence. But he took another step back from this by saying there’s no evidence the attack was “significantly preplanned.”

So what constitutes significant preplanning? Ten minutes? Two hours? A day?

Stay tuned.

  1. “Self-evident?”

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that Carney and this administration are idiots, that they are endowed by their Creator with an inability to see their noses at the end of their faces, that among these are Obama, Clinton, and the entire administration.

    With apologies to Thomas Jefferson.

  2. “Self-evident”, “self-evident” hmmm, where have I heard those words before?
Oh yeh, “We hold these truths to be self-evident……..

So now Carney is plagiarizing the Declaration of Independence to cover up his week long Baghdad Bob performance? lol

  3. September 11th might have been a coincidence?

No evidence the attack was ‘significantly’ preplanned??

    What a moron.

(by the way, does anyone there ever bother challenging him on this crap??)

    • Geez Mr. T. Maybe you have an in with the terrorists and know the truth. Speak. If not, stop embarrassing yourself. 9/11? Let me run this down to an obvious “possible’ conclusion. Waves…. Every month waves break on a shore somewhere, and some bad guy hurts innocent folks somewhere on the planet. Must be a relationship since the correlation is 100%… Huh? Um, nope…

Regarding planning – you can look up the definition up, if inclined. One mans great plan is another persons foolish folly… While nearly all plans “consume time”, “time” is not the best indicator of success – outcome is. Planned, well planned, or virtually impulsively planned, “this outcome” (for the bad guys) rendered effective results. So what?

Glad you asked. The President, our President, has a lot of folks in the CoC. Workers of sorts, 2.65M+. Military, oh 1.4M+. If you “think” or “believe” that this, or any administration, is capable of instantaneous clarity into any incident at any level, you will always have room to bitch, moan, and complain. We could talk Iraq and WMD to bring this point home, but no need. Willy and Monica? We have a wide range of need when it comes to details – all the details…

My issue about the WH Talking Head? Same as many here and across the country. Have facts? State them. In the fuzzy zone? State that clearly, and do not GUESS. Clueless (like you usually are in the midst of a budding crisis du jour)? STFU and stay off the podium… Issue some lame press release while you gather data from some of the 4.5 million folks serving our country around the world and at home…

The WH, this one and the ones to come, need to stop trying to feed our near infinite desire to be immediately informed on anything at any time… They just hose it up and exacerbate the problem or worse, create problems where none should have existed in the first place.

      Ah, I feel better.

      • Please, his last security briefing before 9/11 was on the 5th of September. You can’t deny many of his followers believe 9/11 was an inside job (i.e., Van Jones), so they don’t see the importance of that date to our enemy – Islamic radicals. If he would have been attending daily security briefings, he would have been aware 48 hours in advance of the attack, but he was too busy selling the cult of personality to the useful idiots who idolize him.

Try to redefine words all you want, but anybody with half a braincell knows this was a preplanned assassination of Ambassador Stevens on 9/11. The master planner, who also had a hand in the attacks on 9/11/01, was released from Gitmo in 2007. Libya guaranteed the guy would never get out of prison, but there he is planning more jihad on America.

Ambassador Stevens knew he was being targeted by al Qaeda, and Hillary and your messiah did absolutely nothing to protect these four men. They were led like lambs to slaughter, while the fraud partied hearty in Las Vegas just hours after he found out about their deaths. I don’t know how anybody can try to defend these monsters in control of our government right now, but I suspect there are some pecuniary interests involved.

By the way, he isn’t my president. As a tea party conservative, he’s already made that very clear to me. We are his enemy.

        • Well said. Obozo is not my president either and never has been for the same reasons. The guy is bent on destroying this country from the inside with the help of the useful idiots in the democrat party.

  4. What else are you gonna do when you’re trying to hold up a house of cards? First, you throw the big lie against the wall and hope it sticks, then when the truth comes back to slap you in the face you acquiesce. Without being able to create the illusion of foreign policy success what else does Obama have to run on except GM (oops, GM was a failure too), and Mitt Romney is a felon who killed workers while at Bain. The lies are understandable, at least to an administration with no morals, ethics, or scruples.

  5. The Democrats like to brag about how they support women, and yet they made Susan Rice, a black woman, go on the Sunday talk shows and perpetrate the meme that Libya was just a spontaneous reaction to an offensive film. They threw her to the wolves.

  6. MrCarney should have infomed MrObama of the change from anger toward a film trailer to out and out terrorism. MrObama told the crowd at Univision today that the film caused all the trouble.

They weren’t very nice to MrO at Univision; they called him out for bragging that he has deported more illegal aliens than MrBush and claimed he “lied” to them about his promise to bring about immigration reform.

MrRomney jumped all over MrO’s whine that he can’t change Washington from the ‘inside’, promising that MrO will have a chance to make a change from the “outside’ after November.

    • And in other news…

Television ads in Pakistan feature clips of President Barack Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton during press appearances in Washington in which they condemned the video. Their words were subtitled in Urdu.

“We absolutely reject its content and message,” said Clinton in the advertisement.

A caption on the ad reads: “Paid Content.”

      $70,000 – so who paid?

  7. Looks like someone at the WH gave Carney a copy of the Declaration of Independence: “We hold these truths to be self-evident..”!

NYT lead web story is about this but no surprise, they aren’t accepting comments. When it’s a Romney bashing, let the comments begin.

  8. But Obama is out there again today still blaming it on the video. Obama and Hillary are even running ads on Pohk-ee-stan television (with taxpayer dollars of course) trying to distance themselves from the video. Who in the hell is in charge of these idiots?

  9. OMG, the State Dept. is spending $70K on a commercial to be aired on Pakistani TV tonight denouncing the anti-American video. It depicts Clinton and Obama denouncing the film in English with Erdu dubs. Obviously they have not received the meme that their grovelling apologies are fueling the flames! Get ready for another ‘response’ from the Islamists – another attack this week-end!

Meanwhile, Obama refused to answer a question from Univision moderator asking if there was sufficient security in Benghazi. He continued to blame it on the video.

  10. Obama may be running a great campaign (I think it’s condescending and geared primarily towards the beautiful and famous), but he is an awful President and the people in his administration are also awful. They say he is focusing on the minority groups but I certainly don’t see it – they accuse Romney of thinking he’s a shoe in because of the economy – Obama thinks he is a shoe in with the minority groups. Wouldn’t it be hysterical if those groups were lying to the pollsters about their support for him? If you happened to see Dennis Miller on Bill O’Reilly last night – you should have. I happen to believe that people who feel the same way as Dennis Miller are a whole lot more than the media is reporting. The guy is incredibly bright and talk about someone saying what they really think……..

    • No one is taking into account the ‘silent majority’ of which I am a member. I have never received a call from a pollster. And if I did, I would praise Obama to the hilt!
