As of now, I am in control here, in the White House

Obama Schedule || Thursday, June 28, 2012

Studied indifference: Notice that President Obama has the PDB scheduled for 10:00 am, the exact time the Supreme Court is supposed to announce its decision on Obamacare.

There’s no Carney briefing scheduled, which leads me to believe that we will have a late morning appearance by Obama to address the ruling. They’ll want Obama’s comments to be the news, not anything Carney says.

10:00 am || Receives the Presidential Daily Briefing
12:45 pm || Lunch with Biden
2:00 pm || Visits with wounded warriors; Bethesda Naval Hospital
5:00 pm || Meets with Secretary of Defense Panetta

All times Eastern

  1. I hope he does not do a photo op about Obamacare with the Wounded Warriors (If the visit even takes place). He better not use those brave men and women as b/s props.

  2. Yup, faux nonchalance. It reminds me of the midterm elections in 2010 when Gibbs actually said King Preezy Kardashian wasn’t even paying attention to the election results that evening. As if he couldn’t care less, and was busy watching Dancing With the Stars or something.

My stomach has been in knots all day in anticipation of tomorrow morning’s decision. I hope I can get some sleep tonight. Honestly, I haven’t slept soundly these long three and a half years and I don’t think I will again until January. I’m not the overly dramatic type, but since Monday and the outrageous crap BHO’s pulled by not only giving the finger to Arizona and the Supremes who upheld part of the law, but also by actively working to thwart AZ’s enforcement of the provision with his little tattle tale line, I’m just feeling physically ill. I truly don’t think I can take having this POS in the WH any longer. My intense anger over his actions on everything these last few years has turned to frustration and now, finally, sadness for my beloved country. Damn, it sounds like the stages of grief, doesn’t it? I just realized that as I typed it. Yes, I suppose that’s it; I’m mourning for the country I once knew and am so fearful might not ever exist as it once did. Man, I just want to smack the living crap out of anyone whoever voted for this a–hole who is so hell-bent on destroying this country (“fundamental transformation”).

Sorry, it’s just piling on and gets to be too much sometimes. What a long three and a half years. Reading Keith’s posts and all the fantastic comments at least makes me realize I’m not crazy and not alone. (Thanks, Keith and everyone)

I’m worried about tomorrow. My prediction: The Supremes will throw out the mandate, because even a first year law student posed with this as a hypothetical on an exam would declare it unconstitutional. Beyond that, though, I think the court will uphold the rest and say it’s Congress’ mess to figure out how to enforce all the crazy regulations they jammed into that Act. Yes, I know, it’s unworkable without all the premium money flowing in from the mandate, BUT the BHO administration has already put so much of the law into place. They’ve doled out BILLIONS of dollars in just the last six months for this law ($2.7 billion just since the end of March when oral arguments concluded):

Sigh. I’ll be here bright and early tomorrow, with the Scotus blog opened in another tab to monitor the results. Please say your prayers tonight, everyone!

  3. I honestly believe that whatever the Court throws out will not matter to Obama. He is getting very handy in writing executive orders and I expect he will make them fly fast with the healthcare stuff. We will still get what he wants no matter if it’s legal or not.

  4. I heard they had a picnic today-

wth has a picnic on a wednesday?, what a slap in the face to the american people, but what else is new?

  5. Yet ANOTHER dumb contest – it looks like the Preezy’s rolling out the bus next week:

One winner and a guest will travel with the President next week for eat n’ greets in Ohio and Pennsylvania…

Those interested in doing some campaign trail eating with President Obama can enter a new contest from Obama for America, in which one winner and a guest will join the President on his hi-tech, fully armored bus next week as he makes his first official roadtrip for the 2012 campaign. Obama for America announced the contest on Wednesday in an e-mail from Deputy Campaign Manager Julianna Smoot.

  6. The scenario I fear the most is the mandate being struck down. Obama is leading Romney in Ohio, PA and FLA in spite of the the spate of bad news for the past 2 weeks. My gut instinct is that he is going to be re-elected, in which case he will go directly to single payer. This is what he has always wanted! Unless ObamaCare is completely struck down…and unless Romney starts delivering some body blows….we are doomed!

    • Its amazing how many people I talk to who “follow politics”, yet have NO CLUE about how PATHETIC Obama’s “Daily Schedule” is… They are speech-less when I tell them how little Obama does everyday.

  7. Congratulations Mr. President!
ACA Law it’s a corageous and compassionate healtcare milestone. A great triumph and a brilliant speech last night.
