Obama Schedule || Wednesday, June 13, 2012

Spends half the day awarding Israeli President Shimon Peres the Presidential Medal of Freedom.

Gosh, I hate to be cynical, but could this have anything to do with the Jewish vote? Appropriately enough, a fundraiser is squeezed in between events.

4:40 pm || Attends a fundraiser; W Hotel, Washington
7:10 pm || Awards Shimon Peres the Presidential Medal of Freedom at a dinner at the White House; East Room
8:30 pm || Attends reception with Peres; East Room

All times Eastern
Live Stream of Carney briefing at 12:30 pm

  1. Ha, we all KNEW he’d be starting late after the six fundraisers today, but sheesh, 3:20? Must be a nice gig if you can get it.

    As far as going after the Jewish vote, I noticed a couple of weeks ago when they had the dinner celebrating Jewish Heritage Month that the guest list had a hundred more people than last year – about 400. Isn’t that as large, or larger, than a State dinner?

  2. Nice to meet you PrezShimon. Blah, blah.
    I’m taking you out to dinner later tonight, but first I gotta go put some cash together.
    So, we’ll see you back here later? Shalom.

    1. That is a likely scenario, srdem. Wonder if Mooch is going to entertain him in her garden while the moneygrubber is off passing the hat? These grifters are a national embarrassment…

    1. Yup…no need for any silly “daily briefing” since the smartest Prezzy of the untied Stezzy already has his finger on the pulse of the world. No, I didnt typo…one thing we are NOT is united.

    1. Peres appears to be the Jewish reincarnation of Neville Chamberlain. Now I understand why the fraud in chief is feting him with a dinner.

  3. Ugh. Peres. An ultra-left failure who pushed the resistant, security-minded Rabin to sign the destructive Oslo Accords. Of course, Peres is lionized by the Israel-hating world. Israelis not so much. He’s also an associate of Soros. No wonder Comrade Hussein fetes him with such pomp and villifies Netanyahu.

  4. Former Prez Shimon apparently not real popular in Israel…
    It is a message that he has just taken with him to AIPAC (the powerful American Israel Public Affairs Committee) where he has just called Obama “a born leader” and effusively thanked him repeatedly for his “love and commitment to Israel” (even the ‘left wing’ Israeli TV commentators covering the speech are making fun of his endless thank you’s to Obama).

    And why is Peres blathering on to AIPAC? It is nothing more than a blatant, pathetic, and almost comedic attempt to smooth the feathers of the members of the conservative Jewish lobby, many of whom been mortified throughout President Obama’s first term for a variety of reasons–not the least of which was how Obama hung Netanyahu and Israel out to dry over the construction of Jewish communities in Jerusalem, Judea, and Samaria for almost three years.

    This latter decision struck a devastating and perhaps mortal blow to the “peace process” by causing the Palestinians to abandon negotiations with Israel.

  5. He will spend the AM counting the $$ take from yesterday with Axelrod and then record some “I’m Barack Obama and I approve this message” tracks. Maybe even another lunch with Biden.

  6. This fundraiser 22 for the month of June.

    As a side note, I did some looking up on the Medal of Freedom, and my best guess-ta-ment is that G.W. Bush award 70 during his tenure in office (eight years), thus far, in 3 1/2 years Obama has awarded 44. Again, this is best guess-ta-ment as finding any real organized listing is difficult. That being said, does it seem to anyone else that Obama is using this award as a reward to special interests and fellow leftist travelers? He seems to be having one of these ceremonies every few weeks, and if I am correct, this administration is cheapening the meaning of this award.

    1. Wow…22 fundraisers in 13 days has to be another record breaker. You’re right Shofar…he has cheapened everything associated with the office of the presidency.

  7. When there is nothing on the President’s schedule until 3:15,does that mean there is really nothing? Or is he doing things they just don’t report?

  8. Yep, only a half day today after yesterday’s all day fund raising. At least today he will get in maybe an hour or two of work. Than again, he is going to squeeze in a fund raiser. PLEASE, PLEASE send this guy back to Chicago.

    I am not Jewish, but I don’t see how any Jew that cares about the fate of Israel could vote for Obama. He has overridden Congress and sent aid to Palestine. This is after Hamas (aka the PLO) had signed the DOHA Agreement with Hamas. Thus we are giving aid to terrorists and no one sees the connection?

    He has no respect for Netnanyahu. I am sure you recall Obama’s remarks to Putin, “I have to deal with him everyday.”

    Add to that Obama’s order to halt the building of a US Embassy in Jerusalem to appease the Palesinians.

    The latest classified leaks (who everyone that has a lick of common sense knows came from this administration), quite nicely exposed Israel has a co-developer of the Stuxnet and Flame computer viruses.

    Obama has deep early ties to the Palestinian state in Chicago. He told them, after he was accepting Jewish contributions, to basically bide their time. If one remembers, his other comment to Putin, “I will have more flexibility after my reelection.” Although this was regarding US, Russian relations, one could only wonder how much flexibility he will be exercising with Israel?

    Donald Rumsfeld put it out there quite emphatically, “Israel cannot trust the United States (under Obama).” I once worked for a very smart, successful Jewish man who had a favorite expression when it came to the obvious. He would say, “I don’t need a wall to fall on me.”

  9. Keith, many people speak of or write of “the Jewish vote”. As Max Blumenthal has pointed out several times, the Jewish vote is miniscule compared to the Jewish money. Presidential candidates in our country agree totally, which is the reason why they all speak before AIPAC, except for Ron Paul.
