  1. Keith, sad to say this but we find it offensive that this man is the one to be honoring our fallen heroes today. He has demeaned his office, as has his wife.
They speak hollow words to us and many more.
Interesting Gallup Poll today on where he stands with our veterans, of which my husband is one (Cuban Missile Crisis).

    • So right. The words of the man who promised to ‘fundamentally transform’ our nation, delivered to those who selflessly and courageously fight to defend our fundamental freedoms, ring hollow.

  2. Keith, I’m not sure if you saw my comment the other day in your post about BHO’s Memorial Day schedule. I just wanted to point out that the Gold Star breakfast is nothing new, as they did it last year also:

    Memorial Day 2011:

President Barack Obama led the nation’s Memorial Day observances Monday, laying a wreath at Arlington National Cemetery’s Tomb of the Unknowns and declaring that Americans owe “a debt to our fallen heroes that we can never fully repay.”

Obama visited Arlington’s Section 60 — a burial site primarily for soldiers killed in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Earlier in the day, the president and first lady Michelle Obama hosted a breakfast for Gold Star families at the White House.

  3. Like the others it is truly a sad thing when we are so offended by this pretender
on this of all days. I cringe to think of them at our hallowed memorials that
are so meaningful to us but as in the past we see they feel nothing. Truly
have never seen any President and First Lady so unqualified to honor our
military veterans. But we will more than make up with our true thanks and
    respect. God Bless them all.

  4. Just heard the President’s speech at Arlington. Omitting the vignettes about heroes, which were delivered poorly and without feeling ,the speech was really about him. How he feels as Commander in Chief. How he acts as Comander in Chief. And how his campain slogans are what the country needs. How very sad that we elected this man who showed more feling in thanking Secretary Panetta for his so-called incredible service than in thanking those who serve on the battlefied..

    • I heard the same speech and was sick to my stomach. It was a campaign speech, noting we don’t have men in Iraq, etc. I so wish someone in the audience would have booed. Had I been there, I would have.

    • I agree. His speech was about him, and how much he has done for us. When mentioning the soldiers who gave their lives he could have been reciting the menu selections for the day.
This is a President who knows nothing about duty and sacrifice.

  5. I agree wholeheartedly, mo1…..he is completely devoid of emotion – a soul-less vessel.

My thoughts always turn to Bill Ayers whenever Obama dons his CIC hat. Bill Ayers – the unrepentant Underground Weatherman bomber who launched Obama’s first fundraiser in the living room of his nearby home. Bill Ayers – who shared ‘office space’ with Obama. Bill Ayers – a fellow U of C professor and mentor. Bill Ayers – the person Obama referred to as ‘just a guy from the neighborhood”.

There is, however, another side to Bill Ayers if this story is to be believed. A violent side of a different nature – the story of a young college student at the U of C named Donna Ron. I doubt that many people have heard of her.

Her story is shocking and graphic.

  6. Did you see how respectfully and appropriate the First Lady dressed? I mean
did she think she was going garage sale shopping? There truly is no excuse
for her behavior at these occasions. Last year they both walked all over the
graves at Arlington she was dressed I think in capri pants and a top that looked
like a beach cover up I’m sick of the disrespect she continually shows.

      • Looks like sponsoring submarines is traditional with First Ladies ? Still, I don’t like her being anywhere near our military that defends the country she wasn’t proud of til her hubby won the lottery ;)

        • Yes, the article notes that the WH was determined to point out this isn’t new:

The White House places Michelle Obama’s sponsorship of the USS Illinois in context, stating “the First Lady joins a tradition of First Lady sponsorship of U.S. Navy submarines. First Lady Laura Bush is USS Texas’ (SSN 775) sponsor and christened it in 2004; First Lady Hillary Clinton is USS Columbia’s (SSN 771) sponsor and christened it in 1994. As sponsor, the First Lady will establish a special link to Illinois, her Sailors, and their families that extends throughout the life of the submarine.”

BUT, Laura Bush and Hillary Clinton were FLOTUS for eight years and each sponsored and christened ONE submarine. MO has been there just three and a half years, and has been named the sponsor of two subs.

Also, note that Laura and Hillary christened subs WHILE they were FLOTUS, not nearly three years after they left the WH! This is just another way to stick MO in our face in late 2015 when the sub is christened, long after the Obozos are gone.

      • Sadly I did see that think this is to work into the faux war on women?
They can’t do anything unless it benefits them. Can’t even give Memorial Day a rest from their egos.

      • The problem with this submarine is that it is to be an all female submarine. With this administration preaching to the rest of the company about equality, this reeks of non equality. Why is there a push in that direction? Is it just another political division to create?

      • I can no longer watch. I truly still cannot deal with Vietnam lost to
many friends and waited like so many others when my ex was over there. He mentioned the knock on the door. Well you wait to see the
car pull up and two men in uniform get out I was with my friend when it
pulled up they almost don’t have to say anything. So I didn’t feel the
need to add to the misery of my war. Every generation seems to have
one I doubt these two understand the pain it doesn’t end when it’s over.

  7. As Obama pats himself on the back ——– the inequality goes unnoticed and unspoken.

Our voluntary military protects and defends the freedom and ideals of America. Our elected politicians increasingly restrict, deny, and circumvent the freedom and ideals of America. The military are facing cutbacks in their numbers, pay, healthcare, and benefits. Civil employees and elected officials are enjoying no cuts and in many cases increases.

  8. Please tell me why the President would block access to the wall for seven hours while there were hundreds of thousands of veterans and their family trying to visit? How long was access to the wall denied to the public?
