In the history of mankind, many republics have risen, have flourished for a less or greater time, and then have fallen because their citizens lost the power of governing themselves and thereby of governing their state. TR

Obama Golfs with a Lobbyist!

Well, a lobbyist by trade, anyway.

Hunter Biden, who is golfing today with President Obama and his dad, Vice President Biden, stopped lobbying in 2008 once it became clear this would become a problem for the Democratic ticket, which had a zero-lobbyist policy.

The young Biden, according to Politico, had “an office near K Street, a blue-ribbon roster of clients, and his firm, Oldaker Biden & Belair, made $1.76 million in lobbying revenue in the first half of 2006.”

And then he “got clean,” as they say of Democrats who stopped lobbying for the sake of The One. I’m sure Hunter will never touch the stuff again.

Also on hand today is White House trip director Marvin Nicholson, a regular Obama golf companion.

This is the 97th time Obama has been golfing as president and the fifth time this year.

    1. The RNC should play the 100th time up bigtime. If Boehner hadn’t golfed with the One it would have been even better.

Have you heard the heartbreak? No Vineyard this year, no fried clams, no lobster, no soiress with the high and mighty. No girl’s bike….

      1. GJan ! I thought of you today…. did you know Obama’s feet on the desk is debunked on Soros’ Snopes? Well, they have photos of GWB and Jerry Ford doing it too !!!!!!11

It’s not about right or wrong anymore, it’s about “well, they did it too” neener nation. Butt, Obama promised he’d be different….right?

  1. Have fun king putt! Six more months and you’ll be free to golf to your heart’s content. Do they still have Club Fed prisons with golf courses? If they do, you’ll be able to golf every day with your buddy Holder who will have an adjoining cell. You could even bring along the “high level” intelligence official who has been spilling his/her guts to the press in a vain attempt to make you look like you’ve accomplished something.

He ought to be calling a pow wow with the kids over at MessNBC. They are losing it. This poor guy couldn’t get a word in edgewise with this motormouth with a chip on her shoulder. Partisan hacks talking to other partisan hacks is all they do at MessNBC nowadays.

    1. Yeah, watching that “”interview”” was (what seemed like) 40 minutes of my life I can’t have back. Wow, that’s what journalism has come to? Is she on crack? For someone to talk like that, holy cow!

  2. I used to think it was a good thing for the Prez to relax and get some fresh air on the weekend. Any Prez needs some relief from the pressure cooker of the WhiteHouse, it seemed. Now, I’m not so sure anymore.

Following the daily schedule and travels of MrO seems to make his ‘day job’ something that most of us would envy. A few meetings, some awards to distrubute, maybe a party or event to attend or the constant flying around several states to collect money and scold everyone for not doing what he wants done.
I would like it better if he would find another hobby that wasn’t so indulgent.

    1. Obama has very young children still. It bothers me that he’s not an old fart like former Preezys with adult children who golfed. This is what bothers me about Obama’s golf count, he’s simply ignoring his wife and children on the weekends.

  3. What gets me is that he goes to the rich people, tells them what a bunch sad, spoiled rotten, mean and nasty people they are and then takes the money these sad, spoiled rotten. mean and nasty people pay.

Either he is truly the messiah or there are some rich people who need professional help.

    1. That’s not what he does. The folks he goes begging money from are the “good kind of rich.” The “bad rich” are republican or libertarian voters.

      Duh.

  4. I’m just wondering how many more games has he played in comparison to other presidents? Also, How often did the two Bush presidents escape D.C. to visit their ranch/home during their presidency?
The thing that has bothered me in Obama’s presidency are his wife’s visits abroad and other trips that cost lots of money.

    1. GW Bush stopped playing golf because he has a heck of a lot more respect and compassion for the troops and their families than king putt does.
“I don’t want to some mom whose son may have recently died to see the commander-in-chief playing golf… And I think playing golf during a war just sends the wrong signal.” ~ GWB

GW Bush used his Crawford ranch for both business and pleasure. It was set up to be the Western White House and many world dignitaries visited there during his stays. King putt likes to vacation in rentals at ritzy high dollar tourist spots. Don’t think they’ve spent more than one or two nights in their Chicago homestead that lists three different owners on the tax rolls (none of which are he or his wife). Not once have they vacationed in Chicago since the coronation.

In my opinion it really doesn’t matter what any previous president did before him. He should take responsibility for his own actions and not try to use another man’s track record in an attempt to justify his lack of dignity and self-control.

        1. Thank you for the flattering words, but my husband of 40 years wouldn’t approve. Besides, I probably have shoes that are older than you ;-)

  5. This is remarkable…Biden was able to play golf only three days after Obama broke his arm for causing him to announce his scripted “I support gay marriage” rhetoric. ObamaCare at its finest hour!

      1. And one of these days he will score the same amount of strokes as times played. i.e., Obama shot a 100 on his 100Th round of golf.

  6. I don’t deny a President down time, as long as he doesn’t deny any other citizens’ downtime too :cough: Romney :cough:

So, MO’s bleating on his behalf in VA and NC colleges this weekend?

    This is getting interesting, heh.

  9. When he breaks the century mark, the RNC needs to play it for all it’s worth. They could EASILY put together a 2-minute web ad juxtaposing Obama’s parties, golf outings, vacations, and private concerts, up against images of foreclosed homes, shuttered businesses, sky-high gas prices, and ordinary Americans down on their luck.

He’s spent so much time getting down that he just might take the whole country down with him.

    1. I’d like to see the RNC have the ‘balls’ or ‘brains’ to create an ad like that… I just dont trust the RNC to go all out and rightly attack Obama’s ‘out-of-touch-ness’…

    2. That sounds like a great ad! They should also use the clip of BHO claiming he’s “laser-focused” on the economy and jobs, how it’s the first thing he thinks of every morning and last thing every night, how he won’t rest until millions of Americans are back at work.

    1. “the first time” in her adult life” ….

BTW…the New Yorker (not to be outdone) has “rainbowed” the pillars of the WH in a late May issue.
      AND….
BO will be singing an old Streisand song for Hollywood – it’s called, Color me, Barack.

  15. Another joke of a week of “work” ahead for O’Dumbo:

On Monday, the President will travel to New York City to deliver the commencement address at Barnard College. While in New York City, the President will also tape an appearance on “The View.” The President will then attend campaign events before returning to Washington, DC, in the evening.

On Tuesday, the President will deliver remarks at the National Peace Officers Memorial Service, an annual ceremony honoring law enforcement who were killed in the line of duty in the previous year. Also on Tuesday, the President will welcome Major League Soccer champions, the LA Galaxy, to the White House to honor their 2011 season and their MLS Cup victory. This visit will also continue the tradition begun by President Obama of honoring sports teams for their efforts to give back to communities as part of their trip to Washington. In the evening, the President and the First Lady will host a dinner for the Combatant Commanders and spouses at the White House. The Vice President will also attend. This dinner is closed press.

On Wednesday, the President will deliver remarks in the Washington, DC area, where he will continue to call on Congress to act on a “To Do List” that will create jobs and help restore middle class security. Also on Wednesday, the President will award Specialist Leslie H. Sabo, Jr., U.S. Army, the Medal of Honor for conspicuous gallantry. The First Lady will also attend.

On Thursday, the President will attend meetings at the White House.

On Friday, the President will deliver the opening keynote to the Symposium on Global Agriculture and Food Security at the Ronald Reagan Building in Washington, DC. Later on Friday, the President will travel to Camp David for the G-8 Summit, which will address a broad range of economic, political and security issues. The President will remain overnight at Camp David.

On Saturday, the President will remain at Camp David for the G-8 Summit. Later on Saturday, the President will travel to Chicago, Illinois, where he will welcome NATO allies and partners to his hometown for the NATO Summit on May 20-21, which will be the premier opportunity this year for the President to continue his efforts to strengthen NATO in order to ensure that the North Atlantic Alliance remains the most successful alliance in history, while charting the way forward in Afghanistan. The First Lady will travel to Chicago with the President.

    1. “Global Agriculture and Food Security” meetings held in the Ronald Reagan Building? Our government and the “World Bank” (aka European communists) hold a symposium to plan and plot how they can steal more of our liberty and rob us of money we don’t have, in a building named in Ronald Reagan’s honor? What a disgrace.
