The Top Ten Rejected Obama Campaign Slogans

As is well known, the Obama 2012 campaign has chosen “Forward!” as its campaign slogan. The slogan has been criticized as eerily Commie-sounding, since it shares the name with several Communist publications.

Whether a good idea or not, the slogan was the result of an intense process in which many alternate ideas were considered and discarded before the campaign settled on “Forward.” In an effort to obtain these rejected ideas, White House Dossier attempted to file a Freedom of Information Act request.

After the Freedom of Information Act people finished laughing at White House Dossier, White House Dossier turned to its mole inside the Obama campaign, a ruthlessly dishonest and sneaky person – that is, a really good source – who went and got us the list.

What follows are the top ten slogans discarded by the Obama campaign before settling on “Forward.”

    Could one of the rejected slogans have been: LEMMINGS UNITE!
    For that to work the way I would hope, BHO would need to march off the cliff! Oh, WAIT! He is leading America toward the perilous cliffs ALREADY!

    Could have used/rejected: HOPE/CHANGE – Part 2..! Probably rejected because that would cause a complete and thorough examination of the completely and thoroughly FAILED policies of the BHO WH Adm.

    Some really great slogans Keith and imaginative posters. I’ve been reading a lot of presidential slogan sites and came across some funny ones…at least they were funny to me.

    The self-described “progressive” Adlai Stevenson ran for president in 1952 against Ike, and it looks like the algae king stole his slogan, “Forward with Stevenson”. With all his executive orders and signing statements, a more appropriate slogan might be Woodrow Wilson’s 1916 theme “He proved the pen mightier than the sword.” He could use FDR’s 1932 slogan “In Hoover Bush we trusted, now we are busted”. Or he could use “Rum, Romanism and Rebellion”. Nah…maybe not. That was a 1884 anti-Democratic Party slogan, so he probably won’t go there…

      I vaguely remember a ditty culled from the ad for Pepsodent toothpaste: “you’ll wonder where the money went with Stevenson as President”.
      If you can hum the song, then you’re an old fogey like me.
