As of now, I am in control here, in the White House

Obama Must be President of Some Other Country

The deficit threatens to rock our world. A crisis of confidence in America’s creditworthiness is possible at any time, precipitating a true financial collapse.

And yet Obama is running around the country spending full weeks promoting policies like the Buffett Rule that will do absolutely nothing to help this country, but which may aid his political prospects. It’s a complete dereliction of duty.

I have a piece running in Politico today that discusses Obama’s dereliction of duty. Here’s a quote from it.

President Barack Obama seems to be governing in some parallel universe — where the United States exists without mortal dangers threatening its economy and the nation’s most pressing exigency is the reelection of its president.

But when Obama swore to defend the Constitution, and therefore the nation, he did it in the dimension where the rest of us exist, where the economy appears to be headed toward its annual spring stall and an endless series of massive budget deficits threatens to unleash a financial crisis at any time.

While big issues simmer untended, our leader is focused like a laser beam on trivia that benefit him politically but do the country little or no good.

I hope you’ll take a look.

  1. Great piece. Astounded that Politico posted it on their website. They were ground ZERO for Journ-O-List in 2008 were they not? (That’s when I deleted them from my favorites list.). Has Journ-O-List reconstituted or gone further underground? Anyone know?

  2. Great piece Keith.
I do know whether to laugh or cry….every time I hold my newborn grandchild I choke up with fear for her future.
    Keep up the good work.
    God Bless America.

  3. You nailed him Keith. We are sliding down a very slippery slope from which there may be no return. My hope is that Romney has a specific plan to get the country turned around and get the spending under control. Heaven help us if Obama gets a second term…we, as a country, will be doomed.

  4. Great piece Keith ! Especially driving home the point that the most important priority of the Obama agenda … is Obama. So far the comments have been on the civil side, though the OFA-WTF team is probably not awake yet.

  5. There’s a slight glimmer of hope for Politico, Keith! Undoubtedly, you have ruined Mika’s morning Joe!

“Deficit Attention Disorder’ – great headline! The bigger issue is really why Obama has not been brought up on dereliction of duty charges! Why is the First Downgrade President even allowed to run again? He was at 38% after the mid-term debacle – and things have only gotten worse! The problem is only exacerbated by the do-nothing Boehner Congress. Everyone is out to lunch!

Obama’s reign of terror transcends politics – he is a sick puppy! He lies with impunity – not little white lies – whoppers! He will do or say anything to make himself look good. The country comes last – it’s all about Obama. He suffers from a serious mental disease – megalomania. He is Caligula on steroids – and we are witnessing, first hand, the Last Days of Pompeii!

Obama is Caligula, Neveille Chamberlain and Hugo Chavez all rolled into one – the Greatest of all Dictators! He is the First Black President who never was! What lies ahead for this country if he gets another 4 years should scare the h*ll out of every American – we have only seen the beginning!

    • Yes, the press puppies, those who wiggle and whine, but don’t bark, as well as those who roll over and beg for The One to scratch their plump and privileged bellies have done their fellow citizens a great wrong by giving this man the Race Card Pass.

  6. Looking at Obama is like looking at an empty dark hole nothing. How anyone can be so deluded into thinking he’s done or doing anything but campaigning
and living large while the country suffers should be committed. So what would we get out of 4 more years? The end of America I weep.

  7. Yikes! Kudos. Nicely done. Not much chance that Obama will shift his attention to the country but one can always hope that things will change. :)

  8. I agree, a great piece. There are only two additional points I would point out. First, this is not just a recent activity. Obama has been campaigning since he was elected. Second, everyone (or, at least most reasonable people) knew that Obama had no executive ability.

Overall, Keith is right, the only thing Obama cares about is Obama. At first I thought it nothing more then conceit, now I recognize his actions as those of a true narcissist.

    • Glenn Beck stated today that Obama has had more fund-raisers to date than the previous 5 presidents combined.
      I sense desperation.
      The Blaze has the details.
If he was a popular president, he wouldn’t have to do that.

  9. It’s always been obvious that Obama is playing the Re-Election Game – kind of like Jeopardy or Wheel of Fortune. His vision does not align with that of most Americans. At other times he seems utterly clueless as to how to run the country.
He duped those that willingly shut their eyes to who he actually is; hopefully they have been awakened to his duplicitousness. Then there are those in the black community who did and will vote for him simply because he is black. Then there are those who will vote for him because they want a free ride through life. And lastly, he will have the votes of those who have drowned in the storm of rhetoric and MSM reporting.
Romney is who we have to combat him and we need to get behind him 100% even though we may not agree with him 100%.

  10. He knows only how to campaign. He has no leadership skills, no management ability, no business acumen, nothing…except to campaign. Once he gets the prize he does not have a clue what to do with it. He just enjoys the perks and says the hell with the rest of it. He is derelict in his duty and he knows it and his party knows it. Now if only the dumb masses that would vote for this poser could only see the facts. They are as abvious as white on rice.

  11. “But the job of a president is not to harrumph with indignation. It is to solve intractable problems, to knock heads together, to clear a way through the partisan thicket.”

This is part of the problem. The country is looking at the President to fix things. Founders didn’t create the President’s position to “fix” the economy, etc. He is not supposed to have a lot of power and is merely a check/balance. Knock heads together? Really? It is a shame we have this mindset even in your columns – which I generally enjoy as a libertarian.

  12. Spend Obama Spend and go FORWARD. Keep doing what you’re doing, I’ve always said, “Give him enough rope and he’ll hang himself, “

  13. When you see Bill Clinton praising Obama what picture comes into your mind?

Is it him getting a blow job from Monica Lewinsky in the Oval Office with his sperm all over her work dress and tell a National television Audience that he never had sex with that women.

Do you not remember? How about Bill Clinton being disbarred from practicing law in Arkansas and was also disbarred from practicing law in front of the Supreme Court over the Monica Lewinski incident.

He also paid a $25,000.00 fine over the Lewinski incident. He also paid an $850,000.00 settlement over the Lewinski incident.

He was also fined $90,000 for giving false testimony in the Paula Jones case.

So now,..Bill Clinton, a disbarred lawyer, a President who was fined
for ‘lying under oath’, has the Balls to ask the American people to believe him,.. when he says,..
“The best thing for the Country, is FOUR more years of Obama.?????????”

  14. Let’s get American Healthy first with our tax money and stop or slow down foreign aid until we do. I understand the Marathon runners are helping. Thanks to them. Where is the rest of the world?
