In the history of mankind, many republics have risen, have flourished for a less or greater time, and then have fallen because their citizens lost the power of governing themselves and thereby of governing their state. TR

  1. Isn’t it ironic that he’s attending a fund raiser at the Henry Ford Museum; a place that celebrates American exceptionalism/innovation/inventions and yet everything he does is meant to destroy America’s creative and inquisitive spirit?

    1. Exactly, irony is the fact he is speaking at the museum, correct. My question is why at Ford and not GM. Ford refused governments buy out and profited from being the lone true American automobile company.

  2. Obama will go to Bingham Farms: this form the 2000 census:Bingham Farms: The racial makeup of the village was 91.46% White, 5.44% African American, 1.46% Asian, 0.19% from other races, and 1.46% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.49% of the population.
The median income for a household in the village was $123,771, and the median income for a family was $138,806. Males had a median income of $100,000 versus $55,556 for females. The per capita income for the village was $74,588. None of the families and 0.9% of the population were living below the poverty line, including no under eighteens and none of those over 64.
Nice to know he travels to the neighborhoods where they are “down for the stuggle.”

  3. No place for this, but I thought we all need a laugh from time to time. There is something circulating about Obama eating dog meat and there are some twitter comments, including dog recipes and some jokes. Over at Jim Treacher who launched a thousand #obamadogrecipes offered the following Q: Why did @MittRomney put his dog on top of the car? A: So @BarackObama wouldn’t eat it. #WeWillNotBeSilenced #GenK9. An example of a recipe was Chicken Poodle Soup, or Dog Collared Greens — anyhow, funny.

    1. What fun they all had with Obama dog recipes and all! I think the Obama campaign is going to realize that Romney’s team is not going to be like McCain’s. Game on.

    2. Obama wrote about his dog eating days with step father Lolo in one of his two autobiographies. So good to see the right fighting back…finally!

  4. Of course, the President won’t ever actually BE in Detroit today. No money there. The airport is close to the Henry Ford (not in Detroit but Dearbornastan) and then he’s heading out to the burbs to collect money.

    Which is full of irony.
