Obama 50 Minutes Late for Press Conference

For the second time in a week, President Obama was crazy late for an appearance, showing up 50 minutes late for his press conference Monday with Iraqi Prime Minister Maliki.

I’m sure they were urgently discussing the fate of the Middle East  and so forth, but COME ON. I guess Obama is always discussing fateful matters, because he IS ALWAYS LATE.

The president dropped by 40 minutes late for a scheduled appearance in the briefing room last week. But he was just there to smack Republicans around for their stance on the payroll tax break. I don’t know why that took so long to put together, since he can pretty much bash Republicans in his sleep.

George W. Bush also discussed urgent things, but somehow managed to be on time. I’m guessing this is because he is organized and respectful, but it’s just a guess.

I know this is going to break all of your hearts, but several members of the press were stuck beneath some kind of air vent in the South Court Auditorium where the press conference was held and WERE VERY COLD AND UNCOMFORTABLE.

Anyway, I took a little video to give you an idea what it’s like to be in the room. Notice the LACK OF AN APOLOGY for tardiness. Unless Maliki gave it on behalf of both of them in Arabic.

  1. Doesn’t Obama have staff that could help him keep on schedule? Perhaps they should set his clock ahead an hour so that he’d be early instead of late?
An apology was in order. shame on our POTUS.

    1. Good Question…
Who (some arrogant, liberal, over-educated college punk?) on his staff is running his ‘daily schedule’?
Does Obama have any clue or care what he has planned for the day?

  2. Thanks for the video, it’s always special to see what’s going on behind the scene.
re: MrO is late to his own presser
He is the very reason the press is in the room, so the press does what he wants; wait. He doesn’t apologize because he is the very reason they have a job. He must be one of the people who think that good manners and a concern for other’s comfort or welfare is a sign of weakness.

    re: cold and uncomfortable
Move to another seat. Ask housekeeping to close the vent.

  3. Such a simple thing…for ordinary mortals that is. He can’t be bothered to apologize for his tardiness, and yet he asks Ahmadinejad, pretty please can we have our drone back? What a total ass. I still cannot believe that this miscreant got elected in the first place. Please America, vote this jerk off the island.

  4. First, Keith — why break my heart with this info — “I know this is going to break all of your hearts, but several members of the press were stuck beneath some kind of air vent in the South Court Auditorium where the press conference was held and WERE VERY COLD AND UNCOMFORTABLE.”

    LoL! You are very droll.

Second, people mistreat those whom they do not need anything from, do not fear, or do not respect. If the Prez needed something — but he has the press sewn up, doesn’t he? If he feared the press — but ditto, right? And what has the press done to earn his respect?

Some people have manners and treat everyone with cordiality and consideration. It shoudn’t be news that this Prez has no guiding principles except self-interest and self-pleasure.

It’s going to be cold under that vent for four more years if the press doesn’t start doing its job by investigating this man, reporting the hard facts, and demanding answers and accountability from him and his administration.

    1. Anonna, if he gets 4 more years, O’s not even going to invite the press in anymore. He’ll just issue statements that will get reprinted. And why not? They never actually get to ask him any questions and when they do they’re stupid drivel questions that O’s prepared an answer for already.

Sorry Keith, you’re right, no sympathy here. Maybe the cold will wake up some of the press’s brains so they’ll ask tough questions.

  5. I used to think covering the white house would be one of the coolest jobs one could have. Is this Press Corps so narcotized by this Prez’s brillance in his third year that no one protests? Its one thing to have an individual being habitually late, its another to have a group of high motivated people sit there like sheep for nearly an hour and no one complains! Maybe they can go all OWS-like and start a drum circle and demand a prompt attendance with the President.

    1. Oh, what a funny image! A drum circle of the press corps demanding The One’s presence. I only hope this happens and Keith puts it on the Net for us to see.

  6. Late? Golf? Hawaii? Small potatoes. In 4 years I thought I’d heard it all until a few weeks ago. Maybe you missed it. I keep this quote handy at all times. It’s all you need to know. (Note that even in the “But that’s not our vision of America” you think he might walk it back but instead doubles down and qualifies Amer. success in terms of his own daughters. Not yours. Not mine. His.):

“Our kids are going to be fine,” Obama told supporters at a campaign event last night. “And I always tell Malia and Sasha, look, you guys, I don’t worry about you . . . they’re on a path that is going to be successful, even if the country as a whole is not successful. But that’s not our vision of America. I don’t want an America where my kids are living behind walls and gates, and can’t feel a part of a country that is giving everybody a shot.”

  7. Why call a press conference? All he had to do was issue a memo stating that he was following through on the Bush troop withdrawal timetable! What an ignorant petty punk – didn’t even mention Bush….or Hillary, for that matter.

  13. I guess we can’t expect the *Secret Service* to help keep him on schedule, can we? No, I expect Obama has been and will be late for everything in his life, except he’s been very successful and timely in his apparent attempts to further destroy the moral and economic fabric of the USA.
