In the history of mankind, many republics have risen, have flourished for a less or greater time, and then have fallen because their citizens lost the power of governing themselves and thereby of governing their state. TR

Bill Clinton Shows Up at the White House

From today’s pool report.

President Obama and former President William Clinton emerged from the Oval Office at 10:58 and motorcade rolled toward a building under construction in Washington, part of the president’s Better Building Initiative to promote energy efficient buildings.

Per guidance, both Obama and Clinton will tour the building and make remarks. Pool spotted Tom Donohue from U.S. Chamber of Commerce joining motorcade.

Bill and Barack played golf a couple of months back. And it was just about a year ago the Bill materialized in the White House Briefing Room with Obama and, oddly, kept taking questions even after Obama had disappeared.

  1. Clinton and Obama yukking it up together reminds me of the following:

Bill Clinton helped sink his wife’s chances for an endorsement from Ted Kennedy by belittling Barack Obama as nothing but a race-based candidate.

“A few years ago, this guy would have been getting us coffee,” the former president told the liberal lion from Massachusetts, according to the gossipy new campaign book, “Game Change.”

Guess that was then and this is now….go figure.

  2. Bill Clinton? You mean this Bill Clinton:

Gennifer Flowers produced taped telephone calls with Clinton totaling thousands of words between them, with him counseling her on how to deny their affair: “If they ever hit you with it, just say no, and go on. There’s nothing they can do … But when they — if somebody contacts you, I need to know … All you got to do is deny it.” SOURCE: Ann Coulter 12-1-11

    1. What a paragon of virtue Bubba is. And who could ever forget his words to Juanita Broaddrick as he left the room — “You better put some ice on that.”

          1. I meant the quote above… I voted for Clinton both times. I always felt he cared…maybe it was a big shuck, I don’t know. I agree, his behavior with women was ugly and creepy…but I had money then, I didn’t feel scared to death then, I could sleep…etc. Now, of course, it’s mixed…knowing what we know. I feel the same about Cosby…I met him twice, he even helped me out, long story–then it came up he gave women cough syrup so they would give him “attention” or whatever. Came for Cain–how many other of the candidates did “they” find women who would come forward…to date, none. Yick and double yick. Obama would distance unless he felt Clinton (Bill) helped him.

  3. Energy efficient means: cold in the winter, hot in the summer, windows that don’t open, sealed offices or rooms, toilets that don’t flush, water that dribbles from faucets, dim lighting and a feeling of being held captive.
I know, I worked for a short time in one of those “green” buildings.

      1. Good pt. Also in the not all it’s cracked up to be category, I was reading in Emergency Management mag (yes, I get it) that a lot of homeland dough is being wasted on wacky seminars for law enforcement by some questionable “authorities.” One guy said you could tell a Muslim by a spot on his forehead from bowing in prayer… Good place to save some money, people–and one of countless thousands of places if someone really looked at what the govt does.

  4. Another drawback…..Solar panels need to be clean – otherwise they have no effect. Add on another $100/mo. or so to have window washers on your roof to maintain them.
