In the history of mankind, many republics have risen, have flourished for a less or greater time, and then have fallen because their citizens lost the power of governing themselves and thereby of governing their state. TR

First lady Michelle Obama enjoyed a lovely evening at Co Co. Sala on F Street on Monday night. A Yeas & Nays source tells us she dined with seven friends for dinner and, of course, dessert — which featured an edible chocolate sculpture and house-made artisanal chocolates by Chef Santosh Tiptur. We’re told Obama’s favorite savory was Chef Tiptur’s Moroccan Swordfish Sliders with chermoula marinade, fennel salad, aged pecorino and hazelnut coffee dressing. The restaurant owners later posted to Twitter about their excitement of having her as a guest. “It was such an honor to have first lady Michelle Obama dine at Co Co. Sala last night. What an exciting and humbling experience!”

    1. I saw that on Drudge yesterday afternoon. So, after 4-5 days with family and Thanksgiving feasts, she has to go out to dinner on Monday evening? Seems like an odd time to go out to dinner to me. I think most of us were still full from Thanksgiving and the last place we wanted to go on Monday was to a restaurant for dinner. And, not for nothing, But I don’t know many mothers who go out to dinner with their friends on Monday evenings with the kids going back to school and having homework and such.

      1. Doesn’t Michelle have a 20+ person staff and her mother in the White House? I doubt Michelle worries too much about the care of her kids. They’re in pretty good hands so she can go off dining on fancy stuff people living in “food deserts” never heard of.

    1. The Obama ‘campagin’ will shut down anti-Obama websites in 2012 before the “election” (which will be very Orwellian…)

So hopefully we’ll have a few more months of “free speech/comments”.

  2. I meant *man on my previous post. This website eats or doesn’t recognize what I type sometimes and so I must type really slow and reenter some letters more than once. Is anyone else having this problem?

    Only this site!?!
