In the history of mankind, many republics have risen, have flourished for a less or greater time, and then have fallen because their citizens lost the power of governing themselves and thereby of governing their state. TR

Under Obama’s Watch, Iran Closes in on Nukes

An existential crisis that will plague us, our children and grandchildren is unfolding, and the president sworn to defend us doing his usual ineffectual foreign policy dance around it.

The International Atomic Energy Agency, no war drum beater itself, is about to reveal that Iran is on the cusp of possessing nuclear weapons, having mastered the critical steps necessary to make The Bomb.

Diplomacy has only made Iran’s leaders’ mouths sore from alternate bouts of yawning and laughing.

But President Obama has no stomach for the serious and sustained type of military measures that are needed to defeat this threat, or at least delay it by many years in the hope that the Mullahmaniacs will eventually be deposed and the nuclear effort abandoned.

Nor does he have the political will, knowing that a U.S. strike would outrage his already disgruntled base and upset his allies currently occupying Wall Street.

Instead, he will lead from behind and leave it to the Israelis, who will not do the type of job we could on the Iranian program.

Speaking from his perch in La La Land, White House Press Secretary Jay Carney said today’s news somehow demonstrates the success of Obama’s policies.

“We are very focused on diplomacy,” he declared, which is like getting a report from the fire chief that he has asked the fire to stop burning and will continue to do so.

“That apporach has had an affect,” Carney continued, saying that Iran now felt “pressured and isolated.”

But Iran’s dictators know that once they have their nukes, every nation in the region will be cuddling up and begging for favor and forgiveness.

A world in where maniacal state terrorists possess nuclear weapons is not an acceptable world. Any and every means must be taken to stop it. But unless this is some kind of grand deception – if only! – we are set to give Iran a good, solid finger wagging. That’ll show ’em.

  2. Iran feels “pressured and isolated”? Is there some new requirement at the White House that staffers must smoke peyote every morning? That’s the only way these delusions could be espoused straight-faced. If Iran felt pressured, they’d have given it up! (They don’t care about isolation any more than the DPRK).

  3. Oh, goody, Iran is isolated. End of threat there.
Who is directing the Obama foriegn diplomacy?. It can’t be MrO, he has no experience or expertise in world affairs.

We have star-wars type military hardware and software, the best trained and able military in the world, so we should be able to take out the nuclear threat in Iran without going to all out war. We have the terrifying ablility to compromise their entire power grid, the means to level every building without ever firing up a jet engine and could starve whoever managed to live through such an attack. We could totally annilate every living thing in Iran and make it’s entire territory unsafe for human habitation for a thousand years.
The point: we can eliminate this nuclear threat.

    1. Wouldn’t the inanity of this position indicate that he is, in fact, directing it? If there was someone who actually knew what to do in charge, this wouldn’t be happening.

  4. Iran has been at war with the United States since 1979 when they invaded the U.S. Embassy in Tehran and took Americans hostage.

The have waged this one sided war now for 30+ years by proxies, Hezzbola and Hamas.

It’s folly to think the war ends when the finally get a nuclear weapon.

Being we are already at war, oBama and the United States needs to destroy Iranian nuclear weapons capability, NOW.

  5. te he ! now thats our boy obambo using his upper thinkin’ smarts !
ahhhh …he couldn’t be bothered now that HIS election in full mode.
I hope we may never see another charlatan like him again.. but then the Bible warns us of one worse to come…
…just plain old fashioned evil !

  6. Here I was calling Ron Paul another Neville Chamberlain after he said that the concern about Iran was “blown out of proportion”. He suggested we offer friendship to radical Islam. Playing footsie with a madman is foolish. Obama doesn’t have what it takes to stand up to the radical Islamists, and we, the American people, are the ones who will have to pay the price for his failure when TSHTF.

  7. In a fantasy world, Obama would wait until Turkey steps on Syria here in a week or 2 and occupies Assad’s armies then first hits them with a cyber attack, followed by our stealth fleet and then a thousand cruise missiles to take out not just the nuke sites, but all the air defenses, training camps and as much of the tiny navy they have in the first couple hours. Then with the air defenses down we can operate at leisure. If we take care and not level all the infrastructure and kill a bunch of civilians, we might be able to get them to rise up and remove the mullahs as well, because ultimately they both have to happen together to work. Israel needs to sit this one out so they can take care of Hamas and Hezbollah because Iran will be way to busy to resupply them. Ultimately it will be messy, but the alternative is a nightmare.
Were already in that nightmare with Barry, and knocking off terrorist Muslims he seems to be good at for all his faults on the home front.. I kinda think he will step up to bat…… and swing.

    1. I promise you if we do not stop them NOW in the next 12 months, in the next decade Hamas, Islamic Jihad, Hezbollah, or the like will utilize a dirty bomb or maybe even a regular bomb somewhere in the world, most likely Israel, Saudi Arabia, or the US, and the mullahs will be the provider… Remember the 12th Iman….

Iran has yet to build a nuclear weapon. My administration will seek engagement with Iran based on mutual interests and mutual respect. We believe in dialogue. (Applause.) But in that dialogue we will present a clear choice. We want Iran to take its rightful place in the community of nations, politically and economically. We will support Iran’s right to peaceful nuclear energy with rigorous inspections. That’s a path that the Islamic Republic can take. Or the government can choose increased isolation, international pressure, and a potential nuclear arms race in the region that will increase insecurity for all.

So let me be clear: Iran’s nuclear and ballistic missile activity poses a real threat, not just to the United States, but to Iran’s neighbors and our allies. The Czech Republic and Poland have been courageous in agreeing to host a defense against these missiles. As long as the threat from Iran persists, we will go forward with a missile defense system that is cost-effective and proven. (Applause.) If the Iranian threat is eliminated, we will have a stronger basis for security, and the driving force for missile defense construction in Europe will be removed. (Applause.)

    1. Forgot to highlight the key line in his speech:
“We will support Iran’s right to peaceful nuclear energy with rigorous inspections.”

  9. Gee, “pressured and isolated,” how do they stand it? I guess they are looking forward to the day when they can command everyone’s attention and obedience by waving a nuclear bomb over the heads of the world’s people.

I agree, this White House has a delusion belief in the goodness of muslims and the muslim world. How can they fail to see that domination is their goal — whether it’s for allah or just for plain political power doesn’t make a scrap of difference.

  10. Iran’s leaders believe that they can bring back their “messia” by creating world chaos. So tell me if it’s a good idea that they get a nuclear weapon?
