In the history of mankind, many republics have risen, have flourished for a less or greater time, and then have fallen because their citizens lost the power of governing themselves and thereby of governing their state. TR

    1. Besides that, it seems the “Back to School” theme is coming about 3 or 4 weeks after the fact (5 weeks after the fact here in TX).

Or, is it that those prize winning schools in Washington JUST NOW starting?

  1. Is “the president” hoping that the high school students will persuade their parents to cast their votes for his re-election? That’s the only reason I can think of for all the time he is spending with these kids who are too young to vote.

    1. He’s starting to remind me of another megalomaniac who poisoned the minds of children. Many high school seniors will be eligible to vote in the 2012 election, so they are probably his target audience.

  2. Wow – how does he do it? The most demanding job in the world can be done in 1 – 6 hours a day. Fundraisers not included. **I should have responded to that invite to Harvard School of Public Management -stupid me, went for the work-like-a-slave MBA in marketing.

  3. It wasn’t too long ago that his people were insisting that the job of POTUS was just too much for one man. His wife told a large group of supporters that he worked from morning til night on the nation’s business and the stress was making his hair turn gray.
These statements just don’t hold up when his daily schedule is published; he seems to have a lot of free time to give speeches to children, to golf, to fly hither and yon, to have phony town-hall like meetings and to meet-and-greet the latest sports team for some phony photo ops. He has all the time in the world to go to fundraisers anywhere in our wide country and doesn’t concern himself with leaving the country to go on foreign, um, well, vacations.

I just don’t believe he’s overworked, he’s just bored so his staff keeps finding things to keep him occupied just like a parent would do with a small hyper-active child.

  4. This is his published schedule. He has to have time in the day to have all of those “transparent” meetings with Imelt, Trumka, etc.

When will he stand up in front of a live audience and have a press conference? He can’t do anything without prepping. I’m sure the “live” questions are sanitized before given to the O.
