In the history of mankind, many republics have risen, have flourished for a less or greater time, and then have fallen because their citizens lost the power of governing themselves and thereby of governing their state. TR

Advice? From This Guy?

I like to give my readers a laugh in the morning. Please, swallow your coffee before continuing.

Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner apparently is in Europe lecturing them on how to fix their economies!

And they politely responded, “Just who the $%#&@! do you think you are?”

We have 9.2 percent unemployment, annual deficits of more than $1 trillion, and economy slipping back into recession, and Tim Geithner thinks he has advice for the Europeans?

From the Washington Post article detailing the debacle:

The Europeans did not react favorably to being told what to do by an American.

“I found it peculiar that even though the Americans have significantly worse fundamental data than the euro zone that they tell us what we should do,” Austrian finance minister Maria Fekter told reporters after the meeting.

See, now I’m really worried. I know Obama’s economic advisers were incompetent. But now I’m concerned that they are delusional.

And of course, what did he tell them to do? Stimulus! Because, you see, it’s worked so well over here.

    1. Fantastic article and brutally honest. MSM has lost any integrity they may have once possessed by continuing to turn a blind eye to this man’s failure.

      1. I had a friend tell me starchily that she would never discuss politics with me because of my feelings on this. Well, all righty then. She–snippily–could spend less time forwarding me YouTube videos and more time looking into some of this.

  1. The EU project resembles a giant welfare project, healthy economies transfer money to less sound economies. In the Euro project the members are even more closely interlaced with the strong Germany as the great giver. Sweden is a member of the EU but , thank heavens, stayed out of the Euro project together with Britain and Denmark. Now Geithner is here ( in Poland) and backing up even more spending in a “fund”, EFSF, in order to save the weak economies in order to save the Euro project. Seems to me the same medicine Obama is ordering the US, huge amounts of stimulus on dubious projects. Although strong forces want Europe to be a federation it isn´t yet, and the citizens will soon start resisting all this. The revolution ought to start in Germany. If it starts there it´s the end of the Euro.

  2. Thanks for the morning guffaws, Keith. Does this all mean that President Downgrade will not be taking the extended family and 1000 of his closest friends on those multi-million $$$ global vacays? In fact, is there any place left for this diminuitive little man to parade himself? All of us here in the USA certainly want him to stay the hell away from our cities and towns!

  3. More Obama it’s not a parody:
    The EPA’s Mosted Wanted List:

The EPA website presents the entire list of these wily, dangerous criminals, complete with downloadable “Wanted Posters.” (I kid you not.) And the EPA website warns: “Do not attempt to apprehend any of these individuals.” My goodness — one of them might spray you with Freon or put a false entry in the maintenance records you keep for your car on how often you change the oil.

  4. Thanks for the warning Keith…no coffee spewed on my laptop. Geithner is the laughing stock of America so guess he decided to take his show on the road to Europe. What isn’t a laughing matter is the fact that somehow our government got us on the hook for bailing everybody and his brother out with the IMF. Since America is the largest contributor to IMF and their ’emergency’ lending powers were expanded in 2009, we will probably bear the brunt of the bailouts. Disgusting what these pointy-headed ivy league plutocrats have done to the American economy.

  5. Even James Carville has Timmy’s name of the list of must-go’s. If that idiot can see that the man is an utter failure, doesn’t it speaks volumes about the lack of coherence on the part of the “One” who keeps him in the job.

        1. Exactly Boo. Barry and Timmy were raised to be Alinskyites.

A Marxist begins with his prime truth that all evils are caused by the exploitation of the proletariat by the capitalists. From this he logically proceeds to the revolution to end capitalism, then into the third stage of reorganization into a new social order of the dictatorship of the proletariat, and finally the last stage — the political paradise of communism. p.10, from their Alinsky bible.

  6. Surely, he can’t believe what he’s telling the Europeans when there is so much evidence that our Stimulus I didn’t work in America. So, all that’s left in his defense is that he’s delusional, or just incompetent.

  7. Delusional is clearly what most Americans have been thinking about this administration for quite sometime now but Tim Geithner just may be on a whole new level considering he keeps throwing the same borrowed money that he steals from the tax payers and throws it at the same pet projects his boss asks him too. I suspect the 500 million plus dollars Obama and Geithner wasted on Solyndra is just the tip of the barrel. Stimulus you say? I say borrowing us into further poverty. Greece here we come!
