As of now, I am in control here, in the White House

President Obama is pressing congressional leaders to consider a far-reaching debt-reduction plan that would force Democrats to accept major changes to Social Security and Medicare in exchange for Republican support for fresh tax revenue, according to the Washington Post. Republican anti-tax point man Eric Cantor, the majority whip, said Republicans would consider eliminating loopholes.

Obama held a “Twitter town hall” meeting, using the new media to answer questions submitted by the public – and makes not even 140 characters of news.

Consumer Czar Elizabeth Warren’s calendar was packed with meetings and phone calls on the day she got into a spat with Rep. Patrick McHenry (R., N.C.) over what time a congressional hearing was set to end.

The Obama administration, which refuses to send terrorism suspects to the detention center at Gitmo, defended its decision to interrogate a detainee for two months aboard a U.S. Navy ship, outside the reach of American law.

Would Obama drop Biden? Not likely, says POLITICO.

Mitt Romney’s $18.25 million fundraising haul catapults him ahead of the Republican presidential field to date but falls well short of what he collected in the early months of his failed 2008 presidential bid. “Governor Romney has reminded us that he’s a world-class political contortionist,” said White House political adviser David Plouffe.

The planned execution Thursday of a Mexican national has prompted a rare plea from the White House because of what it could mean for other foreigners arrested in the U.S. and for Americans detained in other countries. The head of the ATF defended his role in the botched Fast and Furious operation.

  1. of the 40,000 questions, obozo answered a putrid 18 which were cherry picked
by his minions.. For the first time in my life I see an American president
behave more like a silver tongued, elitist, angry, dictator than the leader of the free world..

  2. The Mexican national scheduled for execution today has lived in America illegally since he was 2 years old. He most certainly didn’t claim Mexican citizenship until it looked like it might save his disgusting hide. The man brutally murdered a young girl and then desecrated her body. He has been on death row since 1994 and has received every benefit of appeal from our legal system. Butt out of Texas justice Obama.

    • The really curious part is why the Obama administration would even consider supporting a convicted murderer’s pleas for mercy even if he was a legal citizen of the US.
The heavy boot of the US Justice system weighs heavy on the Southwest states for what appears to be political payback or the conviction by the WH that all residents of Texas and Arizona should be considered “enemies” of the Obama agenda and must be treated harshly..

    • Ok, now I’m a little riled up. I read the stupid Yahoo news article. Nowhere to be found in the article is it stated whether or not the guy was legally in the country. What use is the press if they don’t report things that are of interest to the people? I’m disgusted.

If the bozo was LEGALLY in the country, my guess is the article would have stated that more than once.

Keith, you’re our only hope :-)

  3. On that dopey Twitterfest thing, my daughter came in the room, saw those two bowing to each other and babbling about those tweets, and said, “God, Mom,” and walked out.
