In the history of mankind, many republics have risen, have flourished for a less or greater time, and then have fallen because their citizens lost the power of governing themselves and thereby of governing their state. TR

  1. Off-topic but I thought you’d like this Keith – I didn’t catch it when I was half-listening to Obama’s remarks:

“It’s one of my highest honors. It is my most solemn responsibility as president to serve as commander-in-chief of one of the finest fighting forces the world has ever known.”

Who else comes close? The Chinese I suppose. After O’s done with cuts to Defense we’ll look more like the Australians. Standing alone the remark isn’t that … remarkable. But it’s just more evidence that he is compelled – at every opportunity – to apply social justice engineering to America – i.e. level the playing field & redistribute military might. Make things more equal – doncha know ….

      1. How about the Red Army in WW2 who inflicted upon the Wehrmacht 90% of their fatalities, a commensurate share of their total casualties, and conveniently wore them down for us prior to the D-Day landings?

      1. You really have a knack for pairing the right music with your videos Granny Jan. You really captured his disrespectful attitude. Propping his feet up on the Resolute desk really takes the cake.

      1. Does this mean the next time I’m watching Carney conduct a Q and A on C-Span or Obama gives a presser I might see you get called upon and ask why the President golfs so much?
